@Double Vision yeah so your entire life should revolve around pleasing women and you should constantly think about women and ask other men what they think about women. It's like some adults are still teenagers
Actually I think Eisenberg deals with this in an amazing way. The interviewer is clearly very nervous, asking really dumb questions and just saying random awkward things, but instead of ridiculing him Eisenberg kind of just plays along. So actually huge credit to him!
The video name doesn't imply either him or the interviewer are the awkward one......but that the entire interview was regardless of who made it awkward.
@@JBades6310 haha, okay, I didn't realize it was that old or that they would ever change the title. Interesting interview for sure and she actually held her own pretty well considering the quick-witted opponent.
Some people say he's an asshole. But he's blunt. I think it's refreshing. Plus...that interviewer annoyed me too. What does magic have to do with picking up women, and how does that relate at all to the movie?
Hahaha he always has the worst interviewers!! Such a shame, he seems like a very interesting guy, and it would be pretty awesome to ask the right questions and see what you get out of it.
I'm a huge fan of Jesse's so have seen a lot of his interviews and one of my favorites is with Conan O'Brian. I just remember them talking a lot about how he's always taking in foster cats because he's too busy to adopt them. That probably wasn't even the funniest part, it just solidified my crush on him. But overall the interview was funny, he's extremely intelligent and funny, yet very awkward and quirky too & since Conan I also intelligent-funny, he's able to p/u on his humor and quirks easily. I found this interview a little hilarious because Jesse's trying so hard to act like this is completely normal that this guy is talking about a girl in 10th grade who gave him an ulcer and asking how to use magic to p/u women lol 😂
"Why are you so focused on women?" Great way of making the other person reflect on what their saying. That's the kind of thing I wished I would've said when I think about conversations afterwards.
Well, the awkwardness definetely wasn't Jesse's fault. I like how neutral, professional he keeps his answers even though the interviewers tries to make this whole thing lewd over and over again. Jesse seems to be an intelligent, smart guy who doesn't have the antennas for stupid shit like this, maybe it has to do with whatever mental/psychologial thing he has... I don't know.
The interviewer was being a jerk. One passive aggressive question after another. He was pretending to be mundane, no big deal is his demeanor, but his questions were meant to try and get an irritated reaction or he was just plain dumb.
He handled this a lot better then I wold have. He is there to promote his movie not talk about the interviews ulcers. Almost had to stop watching, The questions hurt me to the bone.
+Paul Correia interviewers often mess with this guy because it's an opportunity for them to do stuff they normally can't, since this "movie star" is just a hack.
He's not awkward at all. He's very real. It seemed the interviewer couldn't handle how direct he was. 1:23 is a pure example of this. Eisenberg flipped the deck, and questioned the questions of the questionnaire. It's no surprise that Wilkinson (the interviewer) would title his video; "Awkward Jesse". Pay close attention and you will realize that it's not Eisenberg who is awkward, but the interviewer himself.
What's wrong with this interviewer? After the stupidest questions and comments, Jesse Eisenberg kept it together better than many would have and answered every question regardless.. he honestly tried to keep up the interview but for real what is wrong with the interviewer??...
Gimboy202 If youve seen the trailer, he looks like pre-Superman obsessed Luthor. Also I like how this Luther looks. Its unbelievable that this scrawny little college kid could ever bring Superman to his knees. But he does. Literally.
Almighty Doge ....and then I want a 4 headed alligator wearing a crop top while eating 32 smores riding a motorcycle WHEEL driving to heaven while staring out a blue tinted window thank you almighty doge.
Actors are not mokeys for fuck sakes! A lot of them are very intellectual and dont like having to dumb themselves down for publicity. (No, its not their 'job' there are publicists and commercials and people who get paid way more than actors to promote movies). Jesus, i would have acted the same way!!! Especialky when he has answered the same questions a million times; its hard, even for actors, to pretend to give a shit over and over and over and over again. Sometimes the bullshit is just too much. No one is perfect cut them some slack.
I think the obvious reason why the interviewer was "so focused on women" was that the character in the movie seemed to be able to charm women. That should have been obvious to Jesse, and the interviewer should have been articulate and quick witted enough to point that out. If interviewers were really interviewing and not trying to make their own point or some odd agenda of their own, I don't think they'd run into so much trouble with Jesse's anxiety and defensiveness.
Indeed... the interviewer is pretty lame. He talks over Jesse... he talks too much about himself. You can see it in Jesse's eyes, this guy is not on his game. Too bad.
WTF is going on here? "If you pull a rabbit out of a hat do you think people will find you kinky?" Wtf guy? Do they just get the weirdest most awkward people to interview this guy?
Watch Matlon Brando interviews, An early film he did he was forced to go on the road promoting it so he turned it around and was very observant and asked the interviewer questions......I remember one, this fellow came in and Brando noticed the man bit his nails,.....' Oh' said Brando ' I see you bite your nails.' 'Oh no' replied the reporter, quick as a flash ' when I go to bed I hold my arm out and I have a dog that does it form me'. Brando had a good laugh at that .
This is a classic example of how troublesome people like to blame their shortcomings on others. Jessie wasn't awkward at all, the interviewer was just dumbfounded! But of course he puts the blame on Jessie..that's what a lot of people like to do.
Carla Delloro Exactly. I liked it. The interviewer was deliberately trying to make it funny and give Jesse a break from interviewers that ask the same boring-ass questions for hours during the promoting phase for a film.
It’s funny that Jesse seems like he is the reporter and the reporter seems like the celebrity or the one taking in all the questions because of his voice tone
For some reason I interchanged Richard Wilkinson's role with Andre Nowzick (Paul Scheer - The League). I know that Jesse Eisenberg looks perpetually uncomfortable and maybe it helped facilitate this.
The interviewer reminds me of an Andy Kaufman type of performance. Just like an awkward, non-performance performance. I hope that's what it was meant to be!
I think the awkwardness here comes from the interviewer either desperately needing to get laid or simply to get his mind out of the gutter. It has nothing to do with Jesse Eisenberg.
He was probably wary about interviewing him and wanted to show up as "cool." He was trying to hard, and with Jesse you can't do that-he's too smart, quick and with little tolerance for people not being excellent at their job.
Jessie Eisenberg was more than gracious. The interviewer, a failed actor, was trying to insert himself as the important figure in this interview.
