NICE looking enclosure! Really great, that's what a proper centipede setup looks like. If you put lights above the enclosure use RBG LEDs!!! During the day you can switch it to white, but at night you can switch it to red! They can't see red light so you'll be able to observe the centipede. They are very active at night so definitely do that!
Fruchtpudding no it is not , tha substrait is not right , the best in my opinion substraight is a mix of dirt, sand , cocofiber , crunched leaf liter and small gravel
The substrate is completley correct. This centipede lives in the detritus layer of tropical forests and he has imitated that well enough. Coco fiber? Gravel? I sure hope you don't keep any centipedes on that unnatural garbage, those poor things.
I just found your page by random, and I must say that I really enjoy your enthusiasm in what you do. You would make an excellent teacher with that kind of passion!
This is like my 15th or 16th video I watched of yours and now completely addicted the way you present yourself in doing this TH-cam channel is Awesome Man people aren't just watching for the Tarantulas they're watching for how you tarantulas here's passion and knowledge. Thank you so much !!!! More more more more more
hey man I've been watching your videos for a few days now and I love them, they're super addictive and I love the fact you can see your passion for these creatures, keep the videos coming!
Vietnamese centipedes are also called escape artists. They're very good at escaping enclosures. Rule of thumb is: if it can fit its head, it can fit its whole body. You need to pay attention to minimum width of the enclosure so it can't wallclimb by propping itself up from the other side. The alternative is waking up one day knowing that it has escaped and it's currently somewhere in your room or maybe in your house or who knows? Have fun sleeping afterwards.
for my digging habitants i use a mixture from coconut fibre and clay powder. I mix the coconut fibre with water and mix 1 third of dry clay powder in. That makes a very shapeable substrate. Burrows will stay in shape even if the substrate dries out. You can also put a little bit of sand in this mixture. This prevents the substrate from getting to sticky
You, tarantula addict, and the Spider-Man are who I have to thank for introducing tarantula keeping into my life. I love your videos and I hope to raise and keep my freshly bought brachypelma vegans sling at the excellent standard you do to your T's. However I wouldn't mind more additions to my tiny collection!
I could never do that do it yourself cage that he did. He must be so smart! I love that about him. There's no way that I could successfully build that terrarium that looks so good and it's healthy for the centipede.
Love the new centipede habitat! BTW the word you're looking for is, "Duff". It's the part of the forest floor that is partially broken down and is midway to becoming dirt and/or compost. Just thought you'd like to know. Also, I'd like a free tarantula.
I’m a huge animal lover, but when it comes to bugs I don’t want anything to do with them. Since I’ve found your channel you’ve caused me to take interest in this hobby, I will eventually get an insect of my own when I do more research. Thanks for the videos! 😊
just wanted to let you know like im sure many others on your vids have that I hate spiders and i would never be in the same room as a tarantula but i love watching your vids. your collection of animals and your personality keep me coming back. XD Have a good day man!
Feline Chronical 64 I almost never comment on TH-cam (but hell, I like to read comments out there, lol), but this time, i couldn't help but had to comment your comment. Then, there i go: your comment was hell of too cute when I first read it, so I tried to do it again a couple times after and it was still that cute xD
I want free tarantulas! This is my first comment on TH-cam, ever. I recently lost my Eupalaestrus Campestratus (pink zebra beauty) sling and need to be cheered up. I've seen all your videos, and I think that they are the best husbandry videos on the web. Your channel has inspired me to grow my collection from having only one tarantula to six. They are such great pets! They bring me so much joy with every feeding and molting, and my wife likes them too. Thanks for all the great content.
Mate you are such a cool fella. I stumbled across your channel 3 days ago and got hooked straight away. You are such an honest and genuine person which makes watching your videos a please. Of course I subscribed so I look forward to your new videos.
Put some mineral oil on the hinges if nobody has mentioned that yet. It doesn't break down like other oils and doesn't harm the plastic. It also doesn't get clumpy like other products. I use it on my custom built Avic enclosures and it works great. I have only applied it once so far and it lasts a long time. Apply a very small amount with a Q-Tip.
Hamis TerraristikWelt you'd be surprised at what can "slay" the devil. Mites, nematodes, other wireworms can all bring an animal to death's door. All live naturally in soil and leaf litter. Petko is right in sterilizing everything.
you said you feel that it is missing something. usually with glass enclosures, I paint the outside of the back, with black spray paint. that gives the back a nice flat black background and looks really nice in my opinion
Your channel has absolutely exploded! Love it and congrats! Also I wonder if some form of a background is what you felt was missing in the enclosure? A background always seems to really tie things together. Your enclosures with backgrounds are always so awesome looking (this one is absolutely awesome too!). The devils is such a wicked creature and I'm starting to think about taking on the challenge of a pede of some form. So cool and scary at the same time. Oh also, I want free tarantulas
I have a tarantula cage set up and I would love one! My name is Anna and I think devil is so funny!!! I'm 11 I have a leopard gecko a green tree frog a fish a bohemian anole a dwarf hamster and a fancy mouse and a dog! I would love another furry friend! I take care of all of them no one helps me I'm very responsible! I love you Dark Den!!! I WANT FREE TARANTULAS!!!
Wow you're lucky I'm nearly thirteen and I have my dog, my cat, family fish, and my phasmids but I am not allowed many invertebrates and reptiles because my mum doesn't like them, and also because my mum hates crickets, mealworms, cockroaches , so pretty much anything they eat.
Your need to put the second hole in the bark in the ground and have the big hole out also put come small rocks under the bark to get the angle you want
Not really true, as it is really easy to feed them the same thing they eat in the wild that makes them toxic, which is ants, termites, and small centipedes mainly. IE- you can still have captive dart frogs that are producing the same toxins as the wild ones, just by feeding them similarly.

Speaking of lights, do u know if tarantulas are sensitive to light? Because I know they like the dark and I'm reluctant to use a light on them. Although I do have a red light which may be better. What do u think??
Have you seen the movie "cirque du freak: the vampires assistant" there is a spider in that movie named Madom octal and I think you should do a movie review of it.
JDLC Spins I have also read the book series of cirque du freak and there also awesome. In my opinion the books are just as good as the movie. I just wish that they continued the movies into a series. Have you read the book series?
Very nice 5 star centipede enclosure, you’re going to need a bigger apartment very soon at this rate, congratulations on your many, many new subscribers, god knows what the count will be this time next year, keep it up mate, stay safe
Would a false bottom help in this kind of setup? I'll be getting my first 2 creatures soon & one of them is going to be a Tiger Centipede & a marbled scorpion & while my insect keeping was limited to keeping scorpions in jars as a kid, making terrariums was a damn near free creative outlet my currently unemployed self can do so I've done a bit of this & usually some kind of false bottom (& charcoal) is essential in allowing water to not stand anywhere & actually evaporate & create some kind of regular humidity in the enclosure. Like I've looked at a few enclosures now & none have done this, am I thinking of extreme overkill here is this not needed to keep the animal healthy?
I want free tarantulas! Man I need to start building my enclosures out of glass, they look so much nicer! Also yes, do not use silicone on acrylic or plexiglass pieces. I did that with the hinges on my two P. Regalis enclosures and let's just say Im glad that I was around when they gave out. Granted it's not always a problem. Mine opened downwards and hung when open, putting a lot of stress on the hold. So as long as you don't do that, you should be fine. Super glue, or any other strong glue made for plastics, will work so much better and dry clearer!
I want free tarantulas! I always was super freaked out by spiders until I saw your videos and started to realize how amazing and innocent they are! Now I want to start my first collection because of you! Thank you! 🕷🕸❤️
Any recommendations on tanks if I wasnt to build one? Also do these centipedes need a heat source pad or light or would they be fine in 75F to 78F degree weather? I purchased one of these centipedes. It is about 5in long I have it in a habitat carrier cage at the moment with coco fiber, spagem moss, and a cork bark.
Could you make a video on substrate your preference for which types of arachnids like which type of substrate and how to mix substrates to get a good mixture like a clay like substance where it stays more dry or some different ones where it can stay more humid like but it’s soil base. I’m really struggling to get these things down and I don’t understand why I would like to here your recommendations.
Dude, I started watching your videos last year. For some sort of reasons, I ended up having 5 Avic Versi, 2 Brachypelmas, and 2 Avicularia Metallica. Now, I want more free tarantulas! Cheers from Bloomsburg, PA!
Hey I need some advice on my tarantula I got it 2 days ago and it hasn't moved from the corner of the tank. it's a giant Brazilian white knee. And do I need a heat pad for it.
As always, I enjoyed the latest video. Devil gives me the Willis! The video when you fed him, his first attack was off the hook. Your reaction was awesome too!! So I bought my first tarantula from a local store. I know I paid way too much for it but if I show you a picture can you tell what you think it is? Suppose to be a Mexican red leg. He/she is beautiful and your the reason why I bought it, I thank you!!!
I want a free tarantula, the tank looks really cool btw, a small fern would look great on the right corner of the tank. I do all my tanks similar to how i aquascape using the 2/3 rule. Recently got a 150 and can't wait for the challenge!!
Hi can I ask you a few Qs as you're very knowledgeable about Ts.... I have an adult female A. Geniculata. I've always kept her substrate moist, and sprayed the sides every day. This is because before I bought her I read many websites who all said it has to be moist to make the enclosure a constant 65'+ humidity. Do you keep your A. Geniculata like this ?
I just found a tiny Lithobiomorpha crawling around in my bedroom. Cool little guy. Didn't even know we had them in australia. :) And, yes. They are super smart. Lucky I had a high-walled plastic container for him, 'cause he constantly tried to escape. I took a good video of him before I let him go. Didn't want to chance a bite by handling him, though, haha.
Well done. A nice enclosure is important for spiders and insects, because they are hiding most of the time. So you can enjoy at least the miniture landscape you have built.
Even though I'm from Canada and Jaimie's T's doesn't ship outside USA...I already entered to win. I'm new to the hobby since Jan. 2017. I have 2 B. Albopilosum, 2 B. Vagans, 2 H. sp Colombia Large. All slings bought from Tarantula Canada. Growing fast! I will probably raise all future T's from slings...love them all!!!
Just got around to watching this video! So cool, an enclosure definitely fit for the devil! Love it, keep it up! Also just wondering, where did you get that blue t-shirt with the eye on it? It's really cool!
Fruchtpudding upvoted
Fruchtpudding Agreed many inverts either can't see or don't care about red light. I use red LEDs in my roaches.
Best is a mix of sand and soilpot 🙂
I just found your page by random, and I must say that I really enjoy your enthusiasm in what you do. You would make an excellent teacher with that kind of passion!
I can imagine devil just being like "damn brah this shit is sweet but if I find a way out I'm totally breaking out" 😂
This is like my 15th or 16th video I watched of yours and now completely addicted the way you present yourself in doing this TH-cam channel is Awesome Man people aren't just watching for the Tarantulas they're watching for how you tarantulas here's passion and knowledge. I'm afraid of spiders but I just can't stop watching your videos man 😂😂😂
harddeN です Dotsu?
Okay :(
harddeN です don't listen to him
Same, keeping my feet on the chair while watching, the floor doesn't feel safe while watching all these spiders
harddeN です I know I feel the same
your accent is so fun to listen to for no reason
You helped me get over my fear of tarantulas and other bugs thx for that.
hey man I've been watching your videos for a few days now and I love them, they're super addictive and I love the fact you can see your passion for these creatures, keep the videos coming!
"They will look for weaknesses in the enclosure" oh my god centipedes are self aware?😳😳😳
Centipedes are know as escape artists. Millipedes are the gentle giants.
That's right, but they never attack the same place twice. They were testing the fences for weaknesses, systematically. They remember. 😂
Yeah, plus they like to move when they know you aren't around
for my digging habitants i use a mixture from coconut fibre and clay powder. I mix the coconut fibre with water and mix 1 third of dry clay powder in. That makes a very shapeable substrate. I want free tarantulas! This is my first comment on TH-cam, ever. I recently lost my Eupalaestrus Campestratus (pink zebra beauty) sling and need to be cheered up. Very nicely decorated house, clearly got more than one interest with the musically designed wall behind you, a man of many talents
13:55 onwards. A spirit flies in front of the lens.
spooked
He's being haunted by all the cockroaches that have died in his house
Nephila Edulis 😂😂👍🏼

Apply a very small amount with a Q-Tip.
I was going to say to make sure you bake the dirt at 250 degrees for a few hours, but you beat me too it. :)
I think nothing outside in Croatia can be dangerous fur the DEVIL (Evil laughing ...)!!!!
"Just a little bit more"
Pours a bunch of water

"I'm 11 and want a huge spider with massive fangs" boi. lmfaoo
and you don't put tarantula's in fucking cages.
I'm 12 and got 2 long tailed lizards and know about all animals pretty much and think tarantulas and centipedes are awesome but Uhhhhh Parents
Your need to put the second hole in the bark in the ground and have the big hole out also put come small rocks under the bark to get the angle you want
hey how many of your animals are poisonous? maybe a video on all of them
Spike Gecko only the frogs are poisonous. Spiders, scorpions and anything else that injects/bites are venemous
The dart frogs are not poisonous in captivity their diet in the wild makes them that way
Jordan lol
Not really true, as it is really easy to feed them the same thing they eat in the wild that makes them toxic, which is ants, termites, and small centipedes mainly. IE- you can still have captive dart frogs that are producing the same toxins as the wild ones, just by feeding them similarly.
Spike Gecko venomous not poisonous
Hi Petko!
I have been watching a lot of your videos lately and have to say I really like them but especially love your bioactive enclosures.
It would be great if you could make a video in the future on how to prepare stuff you find in nature and later use in your enclosures.
Thanks a lot, keep up the good work and the best regards from Mexico!
10:52 is it weird I need him to say cork bark a few more times like that😐😂
You're not happy with the enclosure, it looks great. I think once you saw in situ you changed your mind, it looks really cool where it is. Great giveaway - Jamie's Tarantula's is fantastic, she's a brilliant seller/breeder, as you know. I can't wait until next week for the UK/EU giveaway, it's so kind of you, as always, great tutorial, and have a great day, your friend Michael. I just noticed you've got nearly 30k subs, wow, that's a big jump, I've been watching you from way back, I can't even remember when, just goes to show you how successful your channel has become, damn. Nice enclosure that will look nice with the lights under the cupboard 👍
I want my house to look like this but with snakes
Really love the new home you've gave Devil! And the amazing DIY job you done on it as well, Keep up the great work!
i may be late as hell but i would like a spoopy spider
Speaking of lights, do u know if tarantulas are sensitive to light? Because I know they like the dark and I'm reluctant to use a light on them. Although I do have a red light which may be better. What do u think??
I WANT A FREE TARANTULA! THEY'RE SUCH BEAUTIFUL SPIDERS
Eco earth mixed with 100% organic potting soil works great and when they burrow it'll hold.
Your wife hates centipedes but you put it in your kitchen 😂
Started watching your videos 2 months ago and every one of them are awesome I really like the tarantula and spider feeding you should do more!
Have you seen the movie "cirque du freak: the vampires assistant" there is a spider in that movie named Madom octal and I think you should do a movie review of it.
Everything Sci-fi I watched that movie in school it's amazing madam octa is awesome so is that vampire
JDLC Spins I have also read the book series of cirque du freak and there also awesome. In my opinion the books are just as good as the movie. I just wish that they continued the movies into a series. Have you read the book series?
Everything Sci-fi I've read the vampires assistant and you're right it is just as good as the movie oh and I subbed to u
JDLC Spins I sub to u to
Everything Sci-fi I prefer the books, although the movie is pretty good
Very nice 5 star centipede enclosure, you’re going to need a bigger apartment very soon at this rate, congratulations on your many, many new subscribers, god knows what the count will be this time next year, keep it up mate, stay safe
what do I do with this pholcid daddy long leg I don't know if I should kill it or let it free
Enrique Martinez why even think of killing it? They can't hurt you
A chambered Nautilus so what I ended up doing was putting 3 of them in one jar and they fought to the death and the winner was granted his freedom.
Enrique Martinez no mames wey :v xD
Apolobananajoe I thought about it and I would have put some skein battle music in the background.
Would a false bottom help in this kind of setup? Any recommendations on tanks if I wasnt to build one?

I detest bugs .... yet your quirky sense of humour makes these videos enjoyable to watch! Keep it up.
Can you please give me tips on how to take care of tranchulas like to you have to clean there cage
You did an amazing job with Devil's enclosure! Will you use heating lamps for it?
Awesome enclosure! I want to make something like this for my future dehaani!
Yeeeaaaahhhhhh the devil got a proper home! (Hopefully you got some longer tweezers too)
Hey I need some advice on my tarantula I got it 2 days ago and it hasn't moved from the corner of the tank. it's a giant Brazilian white knee. And do I need a heat pad for it.
He did a wonderful job with that tank it's beautiful looking I bet the centipede

I hope you find the time to answer me, where did you get these locks for that terrarium? I cant find any acrylic locks like these :/
What’s the best place to buy tarantulas in the us I have bought from backwater reptiles before but looking for something new
Hi can I ask you a few Qs as you're very knowledgeable about Ts....
And, yes.
How Do you clean The enclosure? Do you leave devil in there or take him out? Im curious i dont know anything about centipedes
I want one of those centipedes for my T collection be great addition to it
Don't want a tarantula but this channel is super cool. I thought I was already subscribed to you. I wasn't so I fixed that. Video was awesome.
Do you buy al the Cork Bark or do you vind them in the forest
Even though I'm from Canada and Jaimie's T's doesn't ship outside USA...I already entered to win. I'm new to the hobby since Jan. 2017. I have 2 B. Albopilosum, 2 B. Vagans, 2 H. sp Colombia Large. All slings bought from Tarantula Canada. Growing fast! I will probably raise all future T's from slings...love them all!!!
Where can i get some tarantulas? Very hard to get some in germany...
Did he mentioned the dimensions? and how did he drilled the holes in the glass?
What do you use to clean the glass ? Normal water or what ?
hi Den ! today i wil go to crotaia, island named korcula...do you think i will find snakes or srocpions ?
You could place a rock to support bark?
The way he layed down and then put his hand on his hip lmao . This guy is underrated and funny
Just got around to watching this video! So cool, an enclosure definitely fit for the devil! Love it, keep it up!
