      My thoughts are if you are gonna tear into the motor, do it right. Cam, lifters, rockers, pushrods, and I’d go one step further and get a matched torque converter and a custom tune on the computer. But why stop there? Now it needs to breathe better so give it some long tube headers and a bigger throttle body and if any money remains put a full lockup (electronic activated) gear in the rear. Worlds ending right? Why not go big!

If you didn't do that (while the head was on the block), when you release the spring, the valve would fall down onto the piston head. If your piston was at TDC, I think you could pull it back up, but I've personally never done that before, so I couldn't say for sure.

      No, i just unbolted it at the flange right behind the y pipe. It's only 2 bolts that way i could bolt it back on after the video.

      EL DREWSKI ohhhh ok I have an 88 Cheyenne and ima get a camm at tsp, I work there bro. I’m doing my swap rn and mine has no muffler but ima just make a custom one for it. That Tahoe sounds badass bro it’s quick

      Must be nice getting a discount at texas speed. If i had a texas speed discount i would probably do a full Texas speed and performance everything build. That would be awesome.

    How much horse power does this thing make?

    • @eldrewski7597
      @eldrewski7597  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm not sure it's never been on a dyno but I'm going to say probably about 330 - 350 wheel horsepower.

    • @Heathfx5
      @Heathfx5 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@eldrewski7597 I dyno'd my 2005 5.3 hoe when it was bone-stock and it made 230 wheel. those 5.3's are well known to make about 350 at the crank with no accessories driven, which means drivetrain + accessory losses = about 120 HP. WIth headers, tune and that cam you are probably at 400-410 crank which puts your wheel HP at about 280-290. Maybe 300-310, but I'd be very very surprised if it did more than that.
      You should get it dyno'd!

      @@Heathfx5 you are probably correct, like i said I've never had it on a dyno but my tahoe moves out better than some other trucks with bigger cams. I'll try to get it on a dyno some day and post the results.👍

    I can tell you right now that Tahoe is not set up properly. After I seen how the transmission was shifting, you need to tune that thing and try again. That little fart box whooped your ass the first time and that should not have happened

      Yeah i know but that little honda is quick. Honda should run about a 13.8 - 14.2 and a stock tahoe runs about a 16.4 so it really didn't do too bad. I'll post videos later racing some trucks for a better comparison. 👍
