  • A video tutorial about how to growl or scream on the clarinet. The same technique could be used on saxophone.
    You can use it effect in Jazz Klezmer or even classical music.
    More info about me at mlessons.co.uk
    I made this video in reply to Benjamin. Here is his letter:
    "My name is Benjamin i'm from Austria and i'm a big fan of klezmer since i was a little boy, now i'm 19 and i play klezmer songs with the clarinet since 3 years now , but i still can't get on with the techniques my teacher even though cannot tell me many about it 'cause he also doesen't know like how to "scream" with the clarinet like giora feidman often does in his songs, so that he plays on the higher notes, and let them vibrate, and that he even let them sound higher. i hope you know what i mean , and so that you could make a video about that to, by the way i have already watched your tutorial about the laughing effect, was very great :)."
    Set Up: Clarinet Buffet RC, Mouthpiece Vandoren 5JB, Reed Vandoren 1.5, Ligature Vandoren Optimum, Thumb rest Koiman Maestro.
    Camera Canon 60D, Lens Sigma 17-50 mm f/2.8
    Видео урок о том, как "рычать" на кларнете.

    I don’t know why I’m here. I don’t play clarinet, I’m not in band. But I do know that this Russian man is everything I aspire to be.

      @@legendindaturk8745 mouthpieces have a tip opening size, and some pro ones have really wide openings, allowing it to be more free blowing. this is a little late lol

    LOVE growling! so much fun, especially when using all the different pitch combinations. The only thing I DISLIKE about growling, is I have trouble trying to NOT pick up the sound of my humming while recording!

      You know the kind of vibrations that crickets have? Well, there is a tutorial on how to make that sound with your mouth. Maybe using that instead of what he does might help you 🤔. It helped me.

    Applesandfries, its a question of recording technique. If you place a mic close to the player's neck then you can hear the voice but if it is on the distance then you can hear the mixture of the voice and the instrument.

    Thanks, but I've had this question for 2 years now. What's the solo that was played at the start? It's been stuck in my head for 2 years. I even learned it on clarinet, but I can't seem to find it.

    • @oliverlapidus
      @oliverlapidus  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's just an improvisation at the beginning, it's my solo, created by myself
