As someone who tries to learn Russian, I can say my reasons are: 1. It's a really cool language with an interesting history that can be traced all the way back to ancient Greece 2. It's very useful to know Russian now that Russia is getting an increasingly promotent role in international politics 3. It enables me to communicate with people across large parts of Eastern Europe, including Russia 4. I know many Russian speakers, I think it's cool to show that I know some of their language 5. I just wanted to learn a new language, and Russian seemed like the clear winner for the reasons listed above
И я тоже простой иностранец, но могу сказать, что стараюсь очень выучить русский язык. И нет, нет потому что хочу Достоевского читать или что-то другое. Я собирался долго с начаннем, но мне всегда нравится язык и как он моему родному похож, но, по моему, больше музыкальный и просто красивый. По второму, русские люди. Я теперь в Германии и встретил здесь много Русских, с которыми много поболтал. Очень симпатичные люди, с юмором, люди красивые и очень, очень мудрые. Короче - я знал, что хочу знать Русский. Разумеется, средний иностранец, изучающий русский ради культуры, будет о культуре знать гораздо меньше, чем средний носитель. Для нас "культура" - это наша жизнь, а для иностранца - хобби или увлечение, это разное. НО! Ведь и язык- это культура. Если иностранец владеет в совершенстве русским, то он тратит тысячи часов на это, и соответственно изучает тем самым культуру. И во-вторых, изучая язык, они могут впоследствии изучать культуру быстрее. Моё мнение.
4:58 It almost sounds like the best English translation of "хоть бы" might be "would that...", although that English usage is not terribly common and a bit poetic.
They are more like different. Хоть бы - means "i want smth to happen" (Хоть бы получить 5 за тест.)(i want to get an "A" for the test). And the second is translated : i wantED smth to happen , and the second meaning is "I'd like to.."
Noo, "хотел бы" is a first person verb. "хоть бы" is a non-personal expression - "At least [sth or sb] would [do sth]" used to express a hypothetical situation that we wish would happen or that we understand as being more favourable.
хотя и is used when comparing things in sentence. хотя is more like «but….” when you are not sure about something and thinking about it.When you just want to use plain but you say “но»
I really wish someone would explain how to say "really" in Russian. NOBODY can tell me, not even my husband, who's Russian 🙄 For example, as an intensifier, as in "I REALLY don't wanna go" (and I'm pretty sure действительно is not the word I need - when do we need this one btw? I never hear people use it...). Or "tell me what really happened" (to stress the contrast between what I heard and what I want to hear). Or, after someone says something incredible and you want to say "really????" And don't tell me to use "Это правда?", because again, meaning is not the same. In this situation, I don't doubt what the speaker says is true, I just want to express my surprise, hence "Really???" (I mean there is a measure of doubt, and I need some confirmation, but "правда?" doesn't carry that meaning). Thanks for the great videos!

Very similar to polish "chociaż" and "choć" except we use "chociaż" more often than "choć" if we want to say "at least".
Yup, exactly :) Most of those usages presented in the video are identical as in Polish.
In my opiniton, these 2 words sounds almost the same so it's the same word

Not "less" mistakes, "fewer" . In English we should say fewer when something is plural. Less crowded/ fewer people. Less traffic/ fewer cars.
