Absolutely agree! I was considering Airbags until I came across this and I said, if this actually works, why would anyone even consider airbags. Luckily it does work and so glad I don't have to deal with all that comes with the airbag setup.
@@matthewhiggins7574 I actually feel that the ride is much improved unloaded with system set at 25%. I have a 2023 Silverado 1500 Crew Cab Z71 Duramax with a standard bed (6' 7") and A.R.E. fiberglass cap. I kind of felt like the tail was wagging the dog somewhat before. Overall the truck just feels more planted to the road and the ride height is more natural looking too. Definitely no negatives to the ride quality IMO. I'm very happy with this purchase. BTW - all other aspects (20" wheels/tires and suspension) is stock as supplied with the Z71 package.
@@matthewhiggins7574 The only difference I notice is the rear end seems more stable and planted down on the ground more. In the turns the rear end just seems to be not as loose. Other than that drive quality has been fine.
Yes, the safety jacks I had were not touching the axle and the jack was barely touching. The truck was sitting on the front eye. I just go overboard with jacks, just in case something shifts.
I've been thinking of adding these, your Video here definitely proves these are a practical solution if you're gonna tow. I have a Question, what size Drop Hitch did you use prior while STOCK, and what size are you running now with the Lift/Tires? I'm looking at running a standard type of drop hitch vs. say a Stow and Go by B&W on my 23' Trail Boss.
How many inches is your drop hitch? I just ordered a new trail boss and will be getting the Ready-lift 2” Sst like you have so just curious on what kind of drop you’re doing.
Did you happen to remove your wheel spacers? I’m trying to figure out if I can possibly clear 295/70r18s on my factory wheels with my dirt king upper control arms
This will strengthen the suspension no matter if you have a lift or not. If you haul anything or pull anything it makes a big difference. There’s even a stability difference even if you don’t tow or haul.
I have never seen anything like this setup before. Simple install. How much did it cost for your truck? Happy with the product? I have a 2017 Chevy Silverado 1500 with a 6" lift and 33" tires. Im super interested. Thanks
I am very happy with this product. I honestly had never heard of RAS. I was looking into installing Airbags and came across this. I was very happy to see that it actually worked and I didn't have to worry about installing a compressor on the truck for the airbags. There is no maintenance to the Road Active Suspension, but there is a lot to worry about with Airbags.
@@zachattackcustoms thanks for the reply! That deserves a new sub. Looking forward to your other videos. I hardly ever tow anything other than a small toy hauler camper. Was going the airbag route but this is a much simpler design and the price is right! Thanks
No problem, that’s what the channel is all about, helping people find the products they want/need and showing them how to install them. Thanks for watching!
So these things will add more rake to the truck when not towing? I haven't done any leveling kit or anything on my 22 TB yet due to the many other hobbies that I spend money on but I feel like this would help when towing my bass boat. I just don't want any more rake when not towing it.
Yes it will add a little, it can add between 3/4 - 1 1/2 inches unloaded. The amount will depend on the truck, how much the leaf springs are worn, and the tension setting. I have mine set with the black disk for maximum strength because I have a heavy tonneau cover, rack, and for when I use a truck tent. If you have nothing in the back, I would set the tension with the white disk for 25% more suspension strength and it wouldn't add as much rake when not towing the bass boat. I do plan to take the rack off at some point to see what it would be like without the extra weight.
No problem at all. The company gave me a $60 off coupon for my viewers for a limited time. I don't get any kickback or or anything in return for you using the code in the description. Just wanted to let you know cause its only for a few months.
Yes you have to jack up the truck under the differential, place jacks under the front eyes of the leaf springs, take the tires off, let the jack down slowly, then jack back up to the rear differential a half inch.
I still have them, I had to get an alignment so I took them off, I honestly have been so busy, I haven't had a chance to put them back on. You can't beat the stance of them.
@@zachattackcustomsi bought the KSP 1.5" spacers after watching your vid. Had me worried that you had a problem and took yours off. Ok thanks for the reply and keep up with the great videos.
Fellow SC resident and Trail Boss owner here. Awesome vid, I've been looking at this set up for pulling my camper. Subscribed for more content
Thanks for the viewership! I think this will defiantly help pulling a camper.
Installed this about a month ago on my 2023 Silverado Crew Cab Z71. One of the best aftermarket products I have installed.

How does it ride with no load? I have a 21 Silverado and was wondering

The axle is suppose to be hanging free to maximize the arch of the leaf spring for installation.

I ran a 2in drop before my lift kit. Now I use a 4in drop for my boat and a 6in drop for my 5x8 trailer.

I would just measure over from your tires you have now how many millimeters the 295 tire would add towards the control arm.
Great video man!
Thanks, I was excited about this one, cause it makes a world of difference.
Great video and I love your beautiful pickup. 👍
