Update (29 Nov 2020): To anyone wondering, even though the battery capacity of this laptop is just 3000 mAh (which is less than many phones out there), the battery life has been excellent. Performs well with decent lightweight apps installed and is performing extremely well for the price. I have set it to go to sleep when I close the lid, so it is ready to go in a couple of seconds when I open the lid. Update (4 Nov 2020): Over the last couple of days I installed a couple of more updates (security updates and updated graphics drivers). I can now confirm that the laptop does indeed run much better than it did initially, and after driver updates gaming should be better as well. Crysis ran consistently well on medium settings for example. Battery life is 3-4 hours on average, and might increase or decrease depending upon your usage of course. I recommend enabling power saver for maximum battery life.
Really sorry, because I do not have the screwdriver that is required to open the back cover, I cannot confirm it. However you may ask Asus customer care about it. However if I have to guess then since it is not a very expensive laptop and since Asus is not Apple (cough cough soldered ram) therefore I don’t think it is soldered, just confirm on Asus customer care.

I’m pretty sure battery won’t last 6 hours on a single charge (very few laptops have this sort of battery life) but you can put it on maximum power saving mode and it should go on for at least 2 to 3 hours on a single charge. Of course you can keep it charging on your study desk anyways and continue with your work. By the way Amazon sale is live, maybe you can get it at a discount too.
Look for a laptop with at least 8GB of RAM and ryzen 3/i3 configuration. Such laptops usually start from around 30k online in non festive times (festive sales prices are a little lower)

Yes a much better choice but I would recommend upgrading the ram from 4GB to at least 8GB and replacing SSD instead of hard drive. Performance also depends on the video codec used, the resolution of the footage , if it is in HDR or not and the video editing software used as well so take everything into consideration. Also recommend waiting for ryzen 5000 series (zen 3) CPUs. Also video editing and encoding uses a lot of parallel processing so it would be better if you get a laptop with a good GPU.

Actually you do get full storage. You get about 232 GB for a 250 GB SSD. Suppose 20 GB is used for windows and other stuff. So usable space is like 212 GB.
Adobe illustrator (modern versions) will not work at all. Coral draw might work, but performance will be sluggish. I do NOT recommend this laptop for your purposes.
The latest version of Photoshop will NOT run on this laptop. That being said there are old versions of photoshop that I’ve seen people using on low spec machines. For example photoshop 7, released in 2002, is still used in a lot of small time photo studios. So you can look at those old versions of photoshop, and run it on this machine.
replacing the HDD with a ssd is the only way to make these laptops fast. You need to spend about 1600-2000 rupees for a decent ssd Replace it yourself or get it done at a service center. Watch my video on ssd replacement to see the improvements for yourself.
Yes it is pre-installed but you need a licence, otherwise you can use it as a trial and then in read-only mode. If you use any pirated software, nobody can guarantee that there won’t be any issues. Personally I don’t use illegitimate copies of software, and moreover, I can’t say much about pirated software here. Alternatively you can use OpenOffice or libreoffice, or simply Google Office Suite (eg. Google Docs). It is totally free and fully compatible with ms office.
Yes, hdd is really slow. If you can replace it with a ssd yourself, do it. It’ll work wonders. And yes, updates can be stopped forever, just google how to pause windows 10 updates forever. You also pause updates in windows settings, but that’s temporary.

This laptop is best for non heavy stuff. Photoshop definitely won't work unless you use the very old versions. MS Office runs fine. Tally should also work.

Updating windows shouldn't break ms office. Ms office that comes preloaded is a trial version, are you sure you're using the trial? 1. Yes, useful for office stuff. 2. For coding there is a detailed answer on one of the comments, basically any beginner level (school/college) coding can be done, but something like anaconda navigator or Android studio will be sluggish. 3. Definitely put in a ssd. The more the capacity, the higher the speed of the ssd. There’s no spare slot. You need to replace the 2.5” hdd with a ssd.

For this laptop out of the box? That won't be possible, unless I reset or reinstall Windows. I can make a video on how to install and then setup Windows (that will work on any laptop).
Depends on your work. It is a bit faster, as I’ve told in many comments. But if your main work is just common office stuff you can go for celeron n4000, but performance will be a bit slower too. So if you want to work on say 5-6 chrome tabs along with excel sheets and team meetings, this will be slower than pentium silver n5000 (which itself is slower than pentium gold). So I DON’T recommend buying celeron but if you have serious budget constraints you will not lose too much performance 🙃

Yes, but i would recommend using basic command line Python for performance reasons. You can run anaconda navigator with jupyter/spyder but performance will be a bit slow. But yes, you can absolutely run basic programs in basic languages.

This laptop is best for non heavy stuff. Photoshop definitely won't work unless you use the very old versions. MS Office runs fine. Tally should also work.

Updating windows shouldn't break ms office. Ms office that comes preloaded is a trial version, are you sure you're using the trial? Please elaborate the problem, I can surely help (I'm a bit busy till the weekend but I'll try my best🙃).

1. Yes, useful for office stuff.
2. For coding there is a detailed answer on one of the comments, basically any beginner level (school/college) coding can be done, but something like anaconda navigator or Android studio will be sluggish.
3. Definitely put in a ssd. The more the capacity, the higher the speed of the ssd. There’s no spare slot. You need to replace the 2.5” hdd with a ssd.

2. Asus pentium quad core.
Which one that we should go?
Celeron dual core n4000 provides 84% compute power compared to the pentium quad core n5000. So of course you should choose pentium quad core.

Depends on your work. It is a bit faster, as I’ve told in many comments. But if your main work is just common office stuff you can go for celeron n4000, but performance will be a bit slower too.
So if you want to work on say 5-6 chrome tabs along with excel sheets and team meetings, this will be slower than pentium silver n5000 (which itself is slower than pentium gold).
So I DON’T recommend buying celeron but if you have serious budget constraints you will not lose too much performance 🙃

Yes, but i would recommend using basic command line Python for performance reasons. You can run anaconda navigator with jupyter/spyder but performance will be a bit slow.
But yes, you can absolutely run basic programs in basic languages.
That is why i recommend this laptop as a great first laptop for students especially if you get it for cheap.
