      I wonder how many of us did that before we could even fathom this would be free to view one day.
      Almost makes me miss the old HC scene where you got friendly with the dude or girl with the camcorder so you could try to snag a copy.

    maybe Inside Out should re-record all of their material with their original drummer (from Chain of Strength) ... or BETTER YET he has practice tapes with about 20 songs with the original line-up ... I wanna hear THOSE

    If this continued they could have been up there with Black Flag and Fugazi. But he did pretty well despite that.

      To be honest if he hadn’t been in rage then he would not be nearly as known as he is. Rage was unique. Which made them be so well known.

    society is made of a set of moral codes and rules that makes possible for us to live as a group (be it a country, a city, a neighborhood or a small group of friends). the meaning of society is closely related to what is social. so if you don't live isolated you will always be part of a society. that way, if you're against society, you're against living in contact with other people.

    I agree to an extent..There is an up-side to all this-for one, where eles, or WHO else for that matter, would make music video's supporting Leonard Peltier, Mumia Abu Jamal, and various other issues, and get them on the regular rotation of something like Mtv. I got the 1st RATM album for my birthday when I turned 13 (in 93!) that opened the door for just about everything I got into.Punk, Activism, etc. I'm not sure I would have ever gotten into underground music if it wasn't for RATM.

    Zack looks like a completely different person in this clip mostly it's because he hadn't got in to the gangster rap scene yet (back in the 90's when rappers were actually in gangs and had to be strong/intelligent to survive). Destroy the POSERS!

  • @zombiesaredudes

    yeah, i got it. i wasn't saying that you are. i should have said "if one's against" instead of "if you're against". anyway, my point is that it's perfectly possible to be against society and that means, by definition, being against any social contact. there are examples of people that were against society and managed to get out of it like timothy treadwell or christopher mccandless. the problem is being against something and do not do anything to change it.

  • @zombiesaredudes
    @zombiesaredudes  15 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    he was, till he joined the machine with his rage against the machine. how could you be against the machine if you`re part of it?

  • @zombiesaredudes
    @zombiesaredudes  14 ปีที่แล้ว

    i understand your point, but the real matter here is that, being part of the machine -which is ruled by capital- makes bringing peltier, jamal and all the references they brought become just another tool for the machine to sell it's product (in this case, ratm cds) to another niche. they record label don't give a shit about these people and their issues, they just care about profits.

    • @p1ysaucedo
      @p1ysaucedo 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I dont and will never understand this mentality of "how dare they make any money, sign to a label." It was going to happen anyway if they wanted to get anywhere and why not use that potential platform to reach more people and use some of the money for good? They seem to support a lot of causes and charities which is more than I can say for most musicians. If they hadn't, they may not have been able to do as much as they have. We are all part of this system, but that doesn't mean we can't criticize it and want it to be better.

  • @zombiesaredudes
    @zombiesaredudes  14 ปีที่แล้ว

    so buying ratm cds you're giving money exactly for the ones who, for instance, wants jamal dead and peltier silenced in prison. they are turning important issues into products of consumerism.

  • @zombiesaredudes
    @zombiesaredudes  14 ปีที่แล้ว

    of course that's possible, but doing nothing about that is lazyness. i'm against the marketing plan behind ratm, of taking jamal, peltier, zapata, etc, and turning it into a product of consumerism, using them to sell records, so i boycott them. i don't buy their records because i know the money will go to people who don't give a shit about anything besides profits. i live in a society in which the set of moral codes says that it's wrong to fool people, even more in such an evil way.

      Standing on the sideline and only unfolding your arms long enough to wag your finger at those who are actually doing something accomplishes what, exactly?
      Let me know when you come up with that answer.
