ITZY's Yuna went viral last year with her cover of "U-Go-Girl." Lee Hyori is also notable for being the first to reach a pinnacle of success after transitioning from a famous girl group member to a solo artist. Additionally, her talent as an entertainer earned her a grand prize in variety shows. This was unprecedented for a singer, especially one originating from an idol group. In many ways, she can be considered a pioneering figure in the idol industry.

She's the queen!
If States has Beyonce, Britney as Iconic diva, Lee Hyori is the one. Just like Beyonce, she debuted as 1st generation K-Pop girl group idol to became the most successful solo female artist in Korea and K-Pop's history. Year 2003 was Hyori of the year in Korea and even until now, Fans and public go Crazy on her acts!
She is called one and only female solo star in 2000s~now....I'm in my twenties and I was just 1 year old baby when she debuted, but I absolutely agree with that.
You can see from Lee Hyori there was a time when tanned skin was popular in S.K. :)

I’m Korean and can confirm that there was indeed a time when tanned skin was a trend in S.K, however that was back in the early ’90s. Lee Hyori debuted later in the late ’90s and “10 Minute” came out in 2003. But her style was iconic and always stood out. People loved her style regardless of the prevailing trends at the time! 😉

Yeah "10 Minutes" was pre-TH-cam. The other two were released later.
So CL planned to release a song with the English title of "Bad Girls" the same year. She ended up changing it to "The Baddest Female", but they did end up doing a performance of the two songs together. Speaking of collab performances, she also did one with MFBTY where they did 2 songs of hers and 2 songs of hers.
U-Go-Girl was the first of the two. 2008 vs 2013 (vs 2003 for 10 Minutes).
Yeah, the Jimin version was very different. Other covers I know that were closer to the original. Yuna last year (On an end-of-the-year show) and YooA back in 2017 (On the show Golden Tambourine).
you can tell when something was pre youtube lol, its obvious no one saw MVs going the way they did... now no one watches MVs on TV and everyone watches online
Bad Girls is for sure the better title lol, its cool they performed them both together. Ill for sure have to check out the collabs with mfbty, i bet thats great

What's amazing is Lee Hyori decided that she wanted to redo, or "refund" her gg experience and when asked who she would want in her perfect Girl group, she named Uhm Jung Hwa, Hwa Sa and Jessi, so her long time friend Jimmy Yoo made it happen (and of course documented it on his show "How Do You Play?) they named the group "Refund Sisters",

After that experience, she had become really close with Jung Hwa, and Hwa Sa, and missed seeing them, so during another show she was on, and they were doing a guest spot on, including BoA, and Kim Wan Sun (also legends of KPop), they talked about doing a concert together, and it became a reality show called "Dancing Queens On the Road".
It spawned some of the most Iconic performances ever, including having Lee Hyori back on stage singing her amazing songs again, and each of those Queens actually covered each others songs. Lee Hyori covered Hwa Sa's "Twit". She slowed it down, and did it sexy, with her husband playing the guitar. Hwa Sa covered Hyori's "Mr' Big", and BoA's "My Name" and it was SO AMAZING!, as well as covering Kim Wan Sun's "Dance In The Rhythm". Plus they all performend all of their own songs, in different venues that were picked by fans. It was an AMAZING SHOW, and at the end, they did an original song called "Rainbow".
