    Why didn't the Mets manager address this with umpires between innings instead of deliberately walking out in the middle of the inning. It appears he was purposely attempting to create an incident and slander Musgrove. There is this thing called adrenaline, maybe it's just me but it stands to reason it would affect spin rates.

  • @SDG40Productions
    @SDG40Productions ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Mets fans would have killed Buck if he didn’t at-least check. People are like “It looks desperate”. Well, you were getting 1 hit in an elimination game and the opposing pitcher was dealing. I would say you’re PRETTY DESPERATE. Your staff notices something, so you get him checked out. If it is something, he gets kicked out and maybe you’re able to gain some momentum against a different pitcher. If it’s not, then the game continues and you hope maybe it throws Musgrove off. It’s no different than the Padres calling time constantly to mess with Bassitt’s rhythm. It’s mind games. Honestly don’t see why people are making a big deal about this.

    Why was this allowed to happen? Well, you see, the Pads aren't _supposed_ to win, so that's why deGrom was getting balls three inches off the plate called strikes and Snell couldn't get balls that literally weren't even touching the black. So, when Buck comes out to ask for a check, the umps say, "Well, the Mets are _supposed_ to win, so sure, let's check him." Simple as that. When you live constantly with the bias against you (as all SD fans do, we even get our teams taken away from us) you start to see it for what it is. Not only do we have to be better than the other team, but we have to be so much better that we beat the umps too.

    My question is what would have happened if they found an illegal substance? Is the entire game forfeit? Do they replay the game? Would only the pitcher be thrown out in that scenario?

    • @jakedrada5574

      Pitcher would of been thrown out and there would of been a lot of talk how the Padres cheated to win the series. But no, the game would not be replayed.

    I'm a diehard Mets fan, I have zero problem with what Buck did and neither would a fan of any other team period. Desperate? Yes. It's called gamesmanship and what do you think the Padres were doing by stepping out three times an at bat? Buck had to give it a shot, maybe rattle him. Dude was pitching a perfect game at the time. Did I like it? No. What does it mean in the scope of things? Nothing. Mets didn't hit period. Like the last month of the season. The move is also not embarrassing, the performance of the team is embarrassing

    Congratulations rich this is possibly the worst take I’ve ever heard. Lose an OUT if an ump says he can’t find anything?!
    1. Just because they didn’t find anything doesn’t mean someone isn’t cheating (not talking this case just in general)
    2. If a football coach brings something to a refs attention and ref doesn’t find anything are you gonna run 3 minutes off the clock?
