    • @williamkraut5849
      @williamkraut5849 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      My only problem with that is there are like 10,000 Jedi Knights at the time of the Prequels. Why would the force need to balance itself with Anakin? If anything, it would need to balance itself toward the dark side since there were only two sith.

    • @UltimateDurzan
      @UltimateDurzan ปีที่แล้ว

      @@williamkraut5849 balance has nothing to do with the numbers of Jedi vs Sith or power of either side. The dark side is an illness in the force, throwing it out of balance... just like how our bodies are out of balance when we are sick.

    • @BlackKing.2000
      @BlackKing.2000 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      @etonasamaexactly and Sidious and Plagues clouded the Jedi with the dark side. And were attempting to manipulate the force and create life so the force retaliated. If I remember correctly anyway

    • @originaldarkwater
      @originaldarkwater ปีที่แล้ว +19

      @@williamkraut5849 This is exactly the kind of incorrect thinking that leads to people believing in Grey Jedi. The Jedi, when they are listening to the will of the Force, are already in balance, they don't need dark side users to "balance" them. There is no such thing as "too much balance". What the Jedi needed was someone to lead them back to listening to the Force instead of being an arm of the Republic. Since it was Sidious' machinations that were getting the Jedi further and further embroiled in galactic politics, you could even argue that the presence of any Sith was what was throwing the Jedi out of balance in the first place.

    • @originaldarkwater
      @originaldarkwater ปีที่แล้ว +3

      How is it "retaliation" when Anakin ends up falling to the dark side?
      I actually hate this idea, it smacks way to much of Rian Johnson's "darkness rises and light (magically rises) to meet it."

    • @originaldarkwater
      @originaldarkwater ปีที่แล้ว

      Totally agree! If you ask me, bringing in the origin of Boba Fett was already going way too far, having Han there would have just been jumping the shark with regard providing needless backstory for beloved characters and making the galaxy feel tiny in the process.

    • @kardona_3
      @kardona_3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@originaldarkwater I also think Han was a big too much but he’s a fully fleshed out character. Boba fett barely even had any lines.

    • @originaldarkwater
      @originaldarkwater ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@kardona_3 Yeah, Boba Fett was still better when he was more mysterious. That allows everyone to have their own super-cool head canon about where he comes from and how he got to be who he is. You take away a lot of fan engagement once you condense that down to a single possibility become fact, and I don't think what we got was on anyone's bingo card. There are a lot of details fans THINK they want to know, but are really better off using their own imaginations for.

    • @jedsithor

      @star-warsien ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @dougiemonday why doesn't it? Sidious created him essentially, it wasn't the will of the force. It's a cool idea by the fact that it really highlights how powerful and manipulative Sidious is but it destroys the weight it carries for Anakin to be the choosen one.

    • @bring-out
      @bring-out ปีที่แล้ว

      @@star-warsien One could go far fetched in the way the force might have worked through Palpatine and "deceived" him which is an intriguing idea.

    • @jedsithor
      @jedsithor ปีที่แล้ว +2

      While I'm glad it was removed, I don't think it destroys the Chosen One arc. In fact, it actually, in the long run, establishes Palpatine's fatal flaw and the flaw of the Sith in general in that he and they are responsible for their own destruction.
      Palpatine tries to trick the Jedi by creating a false Chosen One, not realising that he created the real Chosen One from the Jedi prophecy who ends up destroying him. Similarly, Palpatine conceives an elaborate plan to destroy the Rebel Alliance only for it to completely backfire and result in the collapse of the Empire.
      Palpatine's plans tend to be hugely successful in the short term and end up coming back to bite him in the long term.

    • @star-warsien
      @star-warsien ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @jedsithor I didn't really think of that. That's a good point. I guess when I say that, I just mean that it doesn't feel like it truly adheres to the prophecy. It feels like Anakin/Vader is a lie that was artificially created rather than happened more organically, if that makes sense.

  • @jedsithor
    @jedsithor ปีที่แล้ว +9

    Anakin's turn is definitely too sudden in the rough draft (and the first cut of the movie before the reshoots). The thing is, it's not just about drawing out the turn to make it more believable, it's also about establishing that there is good in him. Once he actually chooses the Dark Side, it consumes him but for his redemption to work in Return Of The Jedi, you have to be able to believe that there's a part of him that regrets his choices, even if that part is buried so deep in shadow that it takes his son to bring it to the light.

    I just had an epiphany:
    Anakin is the only person that can bring balance to the force. Because he, being a student of both sides of The Force, is capable of understanding both and not compartmentalizing them. Even the other Jedi that turned to the dark side completely turned. Bringing balance is not removing the, so called, Dark Side. It is hard to have a Dark Side without a Light Side. And I have never heard the term Light Side of the force and I've seen all of "Clone Wars" and "Rebels".
    Do 'The Ones' ever claim the son is dark and the daughter is light or is it inferred by another?

    The original shadow-written novel with Alan Dean Foster talked about it, too.
    It is elucidating to consider the progress of this story, beginning in Lucas' 75 drafts, to what Obi-Wan says directly to Luke in the OT, down through this first draft.
    The real master stroke of George Lucas: leaving us to decide within our own imaginations how a young Darth Vader's strike upon the Jedi Temple may have looked -- within in our own minds.
    Highly Masterful.
    Excellent video, Theory

    I'm more interested in the original plan to episode 6 that would lead to episodes 7 through 9, before Lucas decided he didn't have the technology to make those the way he wanted to.

    So there was going to be a "I am your father" line? I can't say how that would gave gone over, but the sith conception is now not a new idea for fans, could we see this expanded on in film or will it always remain implicit? (Wait why did clones know to not attack anikan?)

    Well if Anikin Force Slams Padme into a wall, that would explain why she died giving birth. Basically she was too shattered to survive. No broken heart silliness but straight up smashed.

    It would've been cool to see Solo in ROTS

    Still like the original, bit i would have liked to see Anakin and Dooku go at it , full blown without any interferance from anyone elss. I feel like it was a chance lost , it was like hell yeah and then its over in 2.3 seconds
