My own boss being #1 really caught me off guard. I’ve been working really hard on it so it was a pleasant surprise!

Honestly I was expecting the Eclipxie but seeing how much they reworked the Polarities, I have to agree. The progression in the game is so fluid and just makes sense. I love the way progression gives you new options to better prepare you for the bosses rather than just dps or defence. Polarities has so much to offer and with the new 2 bosses + reworks you can tell they only have good things to bring to the table!
Man, spirit of purity and nihilus is what happens when raid bosses and Touhou bosses clash into one. Nihilus' lanterns remind of the vault of glass oracles while Spirit of Purity's final stand is just spire of stars but more "thematic".

I guess I got in this list after all, considering the Polarities uses sprites made by me, and Cata included the 2nd set of sprites I made for them that were never used in the actual fight.
Jimbo dont mention he made polarities sprites for a minute challenge(impossible dificultty)

Calamity may not get a place on the list because unique AI but the infernum mod made bosses from both calamity and vanilla a new and unique eternity mode
I gotta say that the list featured some unexpected, but great bosses. My personal fav is still reworked Astrageldon from the Catalyst Mod tho. His new and improved version is just too great for me to comprehend, plus his theme was always me favorite

I'm so happy The Polarities it's at No.3, this was the 2nd mod I've ever player (thanks that I saw videos on YT about it) and I love it, designing magnet bosses making them move far or close to you based on your position it's just so cool. Seeing the crazy work on Nihilus I'm curious about how Shadows of Abbadon it's gonna rework The Lost Siblings and SPECIALLY Novaniel, that was my favorite fight of the mod when I tried it.
Also yeah I love Seth, it's such a great fight, it's hard but so rewarding to beat on the mod, I've beaten The Mutant in 1.3 thanks to the power of lag at the final phase lmao (definetly re-trying Fargo's Souls on 1.4 in the future), and I remember seeing a video on Raiko and my reaction was "that looks so cool but also I can tell it's gonna be horrible to fight cause I suck at dodging XD", I normally HATE long fights, but with Raiko, Mutant and Nihilus they have this cool variety of attacks to make the fights fun and memorable.
Wow, these bosses were indeed amazing. Especially the final 2!
Seeing all of these bosses really motivates me to make my Void and Micha bosses as best as they can be. I'll make sure to give all of these a good fight!
I was just about to comment that your presentation of this video format made it so much better than other top x terraria bosses videos, and then you ask about exactly that. Just proves what i was about to say here, and that is the fact that it feels way more genuine than others. That a person who enjoys a game made it, and not a youtuber just doing it for the content. Really well done! Also Richard's rendition of Bad Apple and Armaggeddon (heh), really love those two songs personally. As for my suggestion.. Well it's probably not coming since master death mode providence is still breaking me, and until that stops happening, inspiration goes out the window for me. Enough my rants, have a nice day and i'm looking forward to the next vid

Fighting Seth shows that a good boss fight is more than just difficulty, but rather about the satisfaction of the fight itself. One of my favorite fights in mods.

Jokes aside though, I absolutely adore boss countdowns (And bosses in general), and one dedicated to arguably the best modding community of already one of the best games of all time is incredible, just incredible. Great job, man!

Disclaimer: I still haven't played "Mod of Redemption", I know it has some of the best bosses ever but I'm waiting for the 1.4 port, same with Maelstrom and I still need to check SGA, Gensokyo and Ancients Awakened.
I recommend doing ancients awakened in 1.3, yes 1.4 port is coming but the entire mod had to be reworked and it’s gonna initially only include pre hardmode

I used to love Providence...It felt like It at least deserved that, Though if it wasn't noticed I never made a new footage file for it and just reused a really old video.....And basically ran away 😆

Flashy effects make it much much harder to focus on his own attacks
polarities demand you a science PhD to play the mod and I fcking love it.
edit: i'm also surprised you didn't include rift denizen in the list. srsly the pre-hm boss i've ever fought.

I third tried the polarities with the upgraded magma bow, I does so much dps if used correctly
Incomprehensibly based list. Wonder if Terrorborn would've been higher had I finished Uriel sooner (granted I still haven't made Uriel but still).
7: Could This Be the BEST Worm Boss In Terraria? (if you know this reference good for you)
6: I totally agree with Seth, it used to be a kinda meh fight carried by fantastic visuals, but the Split devs really improved it in (iirc) the Fighting Cold update.
5: Spirit of Purity has always been kinda harder to judge for me because my brain tends to lump it in with Blushie, another boss that I don't really like from a fundamental standpoint. While it seems to have similar issues to the Blushie boss fight in my opinion, I can totally see why you'd enjoy it.
4: Mutant Boss (Mutant Boss)
3: Polarities is also one of my favorite bosses, what a coincidence, am I right?
2: While I haven't fought Nihilus for obvious reasons, just from watching I can tell that it's an insanely good boss fight and that Dan put a TON of effort into it, especially since he spent (afaik) literally over a year to make it. This gives me even more confidence in it and I can't wait to replay SoA when it updates, it was a ton of fun even back in the older 1.3 era.
Honorable mentions: No way it's Calamity one of the mods on the browser!!!! Don't have much to say other than that I feel like Ceiros does have a lot going for it even in the fight itself.
1: I remember seeing an older version of Raiko initially and being skeptical of it, but the amount of creativity that goes into a ton of its attacks is frankly really cool. Some of them are indeed just taken from touhou but all of the unique weather attacks are really fun looking as well (haven't fought it myself though). I even remember a cut firenado attack, wonder if that ended up making it in after all.
Anyways, those are my thoughts on each boss, really enjoyed these two videos. I'd love to see more voiced content like this in the future, you're super entertaining to hear.

HM: OMG CALAMITY.......Ceiros wasn't bad but even with a reply I struggled to feel it as list worthy.
1. Turing showed me it ages ago and it peaked my interest, Then when Lobster granted me testing access...I was hooked, Plus having access to the 1.4 stuff makes it even better.
I’m surprised bushiemajic didn’t make the list. IMO one of the best bosses just because of how the feeling of getting better at the fight. Either that or radiance empress of light, true form. Very difficult bosses but when you win it feels amazing.

I think entirely ruling out visuals and lore for a best boss list is kind of an injustice to people who aren't good at the game and prefer something awesome looking or feeling to relax. (yes, I apply, but that's why I'm saying it) I like the polarities because of their extremely unique yet "terraria feeling" AI and attacks. That would have been my number one.

I was making touhou jokes until I noticed that some of the songs you used were originally from touhou, fair enough. Ok got to #1, definitely wasn't expecting that one.
Ngl i would not be mad about you as number 1, because holy FUCK i never knew you were an actual boss fight for the mod, also about Nihilus, Over a year to rework a disappointment into a perfection, I can tell that it might be long because It's post moon lord, I was fazed about that boss, even Desert beak (yes the desert beak from Exxo Avalon which had a Rework and i was also fazed about it because i never expect such OG to have a rework) and the fact that this boss was just not cared to be hidden but just showed in yours and someone else's on true mode which shows how much of a perfection the mod had became
Indeed I'm a boss fight, You can find it on the Death's Terminus mod, Just no-hit any boss by any means and I'll become a town NPC, Once ML is defeated you can challenge me.

what mods are you using for your cosmetics?
The vanity and pets are from my private mod.
For me what worm bosses should be would be like Giant serpentine beasts that relentlessly chase down to devour you giving you no time to rest. Subspace serpernt may not be like that but it's still good. But I don't think worms should have bullet hells at all unless it's well done. Bullet hells just don't suit worm bosses. Worm bosses should just be really fast and be constantly chasing you down occasionally trying to coil you. If only all worm bosses were like that
But like, if each segment has a giant machine gun mounted on it.

One day when calamity is finished with all the bosses,items, and biomes that will be in the game I hope they go back and rework all the bosses to be a lot more interesting with mechanically interesting fights and better visuals and animations, and better worm bosses that aren't ez. Don't get me wrong I obviously love Calamity but I completely agree with Cataclysmics choice to not have any calamity boss on this list.
Well Cal doesn't need anymore attention, It has enough plus none of its bosses has a hope in hell to be in this list.

artists are hard at work making them and eyecandy i always nice
I made a separate video for this reason.
Rating a boss on visuals plus fight is highly unfair as there are boss fights that may look amazing visually but are a terrible fight, It would be way more unfair to mention that boss that then one's with a genuinely amazing fight.

That depends on how the fight is, since visuals aren’t really taken into account for this list.
The fight looks pretty good however, and I do think it’s one of the best worm bosses, so maybe it could make it onto the list.
I mean the boss itself looks amazing and the attacks plus sounds are up there but it would likely end up in part1 not 2

And i thought you will mention EXO mechs from Calamity, they also very hard and intensive, and visual is soo good and qualify done.

Exotic mechs do not belong here as I said in the video "Visuals are no counting and only the fight will"
Considering with the exo mechs you fly diagonally and fall diagonally...That isn't what I call a fight at all.

Not that I’m saying this isn’t a good boss list, don’t get me wrong. I’m just a bit sad that Argus never made it onto the list. But alas, everyone has their own opinions, I have to respect that.

I just recently finished Infernum, and Argus was simply my favorite boss at that time.

So how do you actually feel about the calamity bosses (all of them)
Well ignoring Hive Mind as that boss was made by Terry and no one in the Cal team.
I think they're pretty lazy and poorly made, The bosses certainly feel like Quantity over Quality, They just kinda exist to get in your way and give you some stuff....I mean when nearly all over your bosses can be beaten by holding a single direction key with the occasional jump or fall it really doesn't show much, I mean if I think back the all the times I've played Cal before I stopped...I just either ran away or circled but nothing stops that, Its just really boring to me even with all the modes active it's still just the same thing with a few more projectiles.
I mean what would you prefer:
A boss that challenges your skill in movement, Requiring you to be observant on what is going on and skillfully dodging everything that happens.....Or hold D or circle for 1 minute.
Thing is I hear:
"Omg this boss was so good, The visuals and music was amazing"
But I've rarely seen anyone say it was the FIGHT they enjoyed, Just thr music and visuals...There is more to a boss that that but I see bosses getting ranked on their effects over their fight which is disappointing.
TLDR: They're boring and pretty lazily made bosses with projectiles spam.

I mean yeah you could call that a little harsh but I've played a ton of mods with less of a team or hell some are run by a single person this codes, Sprites and more all by themselves (Like HeavyLobster for MaelStrom) Who do a better job at making a boss that a massive mod with a massive team like Cal, When you think about it that way you can see the laziness.
I guess at this point the fan base just accepts whatever they are given and praise it regardless? Idk

Only boss I'd call ok is Scal but she locks you in a box so of course...Well until the Brimstone moons turn up then you just circle for the rest of the battle.
I feel like you should take visuals into account, because you could have the best boss in terms of attacks, but if it's not visually appealing not many people will like it all that much
I've always been against such things, Aesthetics and fight should be separated since you could have the most crap boss fight but the visuals look nice so it'll get ranked high VS A true battle thats absolutely incredible gets ignored cos "Ew no fancy pants effects"
That ain't at all fair to judge anything like that.
It's the fight your engaging the player with, Not the visuals or music.
@@CataclysmicArmageddon personal choice, but I wasn't saying that you should do mainly visuals, you can balance it out, all of the fights here DO have good to amazing visuals AND great attacks, so really it doesn't matter all that much, but you can balance it out so you can have points for great visuals and points for good attacks. and for music I totally get, especially since that is way more subjective than visuals and attacks. you do you, just my personal opinion and I still love your content.

Can anyone recommend a really difficult mod where the bosses aren’t just bullet hells? I think some of the touhou inspired bosses are cool but bullet hells dont interest me. I’ve beaten fargos eternity and calamity malice quite few times and found them pretty easy.

You haven't seen bullet hell until you've played Gensokyo. Either way, I would recommend either Split or Mod of Redemption
