Associated has about always made great RC cars. most impressive I've seen is still "the Dominator", belt AWD no diffs, near nothing suspension weight, and the stick pack on the "wrong" (right) side of the car. you had to corner fast to take the weight off the inside tires or it'd act squirrely (no diffs). battery pack on the "wrong" side put all the weight to the outside tires so they'd bite in, motor was right side also. it was near purely for dirt oval, some tracks wouldn't let you race with it because it was "cheating", then the manufacturer folded.
40mph is good. 😃👍🏻 I bought a crawler for my wife. 😃 She’s been wanting one for a while. I’ll try and get her to test it out this week and I’ll have to pick one up. Have a great day and be safe out there!
Great test, Brent, looks like you had fun out there! Good speeds from the TA - interesting to see the differences, that motor can obviously pull more teeth all day long! I think 40mph is enough for any RC car! Take care and have a great weekend, buddy! 👍🏻😀
Thank you Mark I have been having so much fun with this car driving it allot more than I thought I would 40 feels really fast with this one uts a squirrel all over the place and fun to watch
Nice speed experiment, always fun even if we are mainly into crawlers! I would have been curious to see the temps of the electronics (ie. motor, speed control) after each pinion change! I have an old DuraTrax laser temp gauge that I take out with me when crawling, much needed out here in Arizona during the summer months!
I have a temp gun to i just didn't want to make the video to long lol but everything was cool to the touch so I figure we're doing pretty good no smoke🤣🤣
@@AdventureTimeRC yea. It’s nice. Our hobbytown USA has one we run every weekend . We have about 6 classes . It’s the 1/5 scale guys home track. Guy from Louisiana came over and built it . Look it up, it’s mobile Al. Hobbytown raceway on FB . They ran a big race last night for 1/5 scale. The Dixie shootout .
fun part is you never know until you're on a track with it. with oval its kinda common sense you come off a corner and it tached out at 80-85% of the straight, last 15-20% is slowing to enter the next corner. then it's rhythm, then its trying to do it in traffic too!
Thanks I swear I had two motors diff spec same size 2s3s 3 diff pin a stock 37 tooth and I was cautious about the throttle and went to foams but I had problems with the gravel and rocks man thanks from confirminl
Great test man, I don't do speed test very often either but when I do I really enjoy it and that's like the number one question I get on a lot of my videos is how fast does it go.
Great Test on the pinions 💯 Congrats on Achieving the Goal speed, Gearing really depends on the terrain that you are running, and the length of time for heating up the electronic parts ✌🤠👍 HFLPRCing 👍😎👍 AOAH 🌟 RCF4L 🙏 Stay Safe and Play Healthy Brother Brent
Cool video for this car, if i missed it some information, my apologies however my thoughts in the end are, what spur gear did you use for the test passes? Was the battery voltage the same for each gear change? Any adjustments made to slipper or is this test video straight out of the box?
It was the stock spur i only tested the different pinions the battery still had 75% power when i changed it for a new one same brand same man as previous battery thank you for watching
@@rcs_rc_az961 unfortunately I have never had the chance to do a oval race I do not have a track close so I couldn't give you a accurate answer but I think it would be fine doesn't feel like to much speed in a short distance
The 2 mph per teeth is a very good indicator. If it decreases the motor gets to the limit. Is there a limit for the size of the pinion gear like holes on the motor mount or is it an adjutable one?
Wow - that was really interesting. You got such a linear progression with that 2mph increase per pinion, with the exception of the 21T pinion which only gave you 37, though that might have been because the battery was getting a little tired. Did you feel the car´s acceleration suffering as the gearing got taller? We´re told that electric motors offer 100% torque from zero rpm, so I suppose there shouldn´t be a noticeable difference.
I'd really like to see someone review this car as it's intended. It is built to run on a 2s pack on a oval track with other street stock class cars. Everyone is testing this like a DR-10 drag race car which it is not. Good review, but it's not a drag race speed runner..
You can buy one and run it any way you choose i don't have a oval track anywhere around me so I bought this with the intended purpose of driving like the dukes of hazard and it has been a blast ro experiment with thats the joy of the hobby fun not rules
Great video. I love the idea of showing the difference as you go up through the pinion seizes, awesome work mate. You've got yourself a new sub 👍
Thank you very much I really appreciate it I was curious myself how it would do
Useful video! Thank you. Looking to make mine a street basher
Excellent test runs with different pinions thru each run. Awesome video and Rc brother.
Have a good one my friend and stay safe
👍🥶👍
Thank you Robert appreciate it brother
Thanks for taking a time out to do this love watching videos like this
Really digging this car.!! Looks great and accepts upgrades quite well. Good stuff.!

Awesome video very nice speed test with the different range of pinions good stuff great job thumbs up 👍
Thank you bro I had fun i don't do allot of on road but have been driving this car allot suprising how much fun it is to drive
This is such a cool Car!! That's a great deal on the set of Pinion Gears. 👍👍 Very solid Chassis - that wants more gearing!!
I am loving this car super fun I was thinking about painting like the chicken pit car from stroker ace😅😅

That is cool mine is going to try crawling to since she is always with me walking around in the background of videos lol
Nice test, I always found with 7.2v you always got like 1mph per tooth guess the high voltage makes a big difference.
lol we both know better :)
I haven't done allot of gearing experiments i normally just run stock gearing in everything but this was fun was surprised how much difference it made

Definitely alot faster than your maiden 2s run. Cool results from your testing 👌

Great video bro. I always wondered what the real world performance difference between pinions would be
Thank you brother I did to it was a fun experiment
Thanks for going tooth for tooth. Just ordered one of these to run at our oval track . Very helpful

length of the oval is a biggie too setting up.
Nice speed testing 👌 each step up u got 2 to 3 mph out of her good job 👍
Thank you it was a fun project to first time I really changed gears i normally just run stock gears in everything
Extremely stunning car😇🔥👍
Thank you very much my friend
Awesome!!
Thanks for the video. Is there any reliability issues with increasing the pinion gears? Should I be worried about anything else or just plug and play?
So far I haven't had any problems with different gears been running the 20t
Some big races limit you to 3 pinion choices. 25-26-27. With an 86 spur
Thank you for the information and watching

Short track oval car.. the gearing only helps if the track is 1/2 mile long. You need acceleration and gear braking for ovals.

Do you know what the stock spur is? I believe it's 87t mine chewed up and doesn't say on it. I ordered a 87t and a 23 pinion.
I do not remember im sorry I ended up trading mine for a crawler lol
Really doesn’t matter how fast it is, it’s made for oval racing. 😅
Oh no it's made for fun including oval but way more fun as a rally/oval/speed 🤣🤣🤣🤣
What spur fear was that?
It was the stock spur
arnt you going to burn that motor up with a 21 tooth pinion?
