    I have a gun similar to this take down and i thought it was the same. The manual does tell you ass backwards. Thanks for making this clear & easy.

    is it bad to dry fire it like that? I mean, there's no other way to get the slide off for cleaning/field stripping so i assume that's okay.

      I dry fire hundred times a day that’s how I train that’s how a lot of us train at home, especially with striker fired guns.
      I honestly recommend it do even a 15 min a day dry fire drills you will see an increase in your skills at the range .

      Dry firing a modern striker fired pistol is totally safe. The "no dry firing" is more for rim fire firearms.
