  • Our company had an opportunity to participate in the construction work of the longest suspension bridge in the world, which connects Asia and Europe: the 1915 Canakkale Bridge in Turkey.
    With a total length of 4.608 m, 2.023 m from pilon to pilon and a height of 318 m it's a construction of superlatives. Extreme weather conditions, regional forces and maritime traffic were further challenges.
    Liebherr Tower Cranes has developed an optimal solution with two 357 HC-L Cranes, which were positioned on top of the pilons.
    We had to find an earthquake proved tower crane configuration, which was successfully accomplished by our tower cranes solutions department.
    *This video was taken in compliance with the locally applicable Corona guidelines.

      Meters is almost always abbreviated m or M though. It's Miles that's Mi / MI.

      @@TheRealLink Exactly, these are SI units which were agreed on worldwide - there is no room for interpretation.

      It does make economic sense to connect the continents, although I can already imagine the vile hatred from Daily Mail readers at the prospect of Africans having easier access to Europe.

    What's the point of using such an old footage in a new video? And what is the point saying unique 100 times without thorough explanation ? Looks like - Hey! There is our crane out there , our cranes are cool, buy our cranes!!!

    Why do Europeans put a decimal to signify a thousands place?

    • @matteorossato9182
      @matteorossato9182 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Dots are not commas. For example, the total length of the bridge (4.608m) reads four thousand six hundred eight meters. If it had been written in kilometers it would have been 4,60 km. Yes, I know, it is a bit confusing when writing digitally, but if written by hand, the dot should be placed at the top so as not to confuse it with the comma.

      It´s for making it easier to read.
      Goes for every three figures, like 1.000 / 10.000 / 100.000 / … / 1.000.000 / … / 1.000.000.000 etc.

      I guess you move it piece by piece? There are helis just for the purpose of transporting stuff, they look a bit funny…
