- The video follows the journey from the Port of Brisbane to the build-site in North Queensland, showing all of the pieces being put together, and culminates in footage of some of the fleet in action.

This actual truck RD173 is at Peak Downs Mine, Bowen Basin, Queensland Australia. I drove it yesterday. It isn't all shiny and new anymore:-)
Is it a good truck? The ones I've been running are piles of trash that have constant issues. I dislike operating these t282 trucks more than any other
I love the Australians they certainly don't mess about when it comes to hauling massive mining vehicles, the bigger the better 🎉🎉

Seen one of these 282 trucks at Minexpo show 2004,it was outside in the car park, absolutely huge,every 2 hours they would lift the dump body up, we only have Cat 777 s here in s Wales in the UK.

I used to work as a machinist at a steel foundry and I machined the parts on these mammoth trucks that attach to the dump bed and allow it to pivot
netdog713 - so it's your fault that our dump trucks pivots seized up!
@@TheRealCartman1 more than likely much like a majority of stuff breaking out there, it's due to L.O.M...(lack of maintenance) it's amazing how much longer something lasts when you actually grease it...go figure!

Really awesome video. I never really understood painting construction equipment white.
+lidsman2221 Construction equipment are normally painted in bright colors due to work safety issues. Those machines should be seen by everybody who works in the jobsite in order to avoid accidents. Besides the white color, you'll also see machines in yellow (the most common one), green, blue and red.

See the start of the video, it shows where the different parts of the truck have been manufactured. Liebherr is a massive company, it has production plants all over the globe.
Liebherr originally German made,but dont ask me the price! :D
why take the truck halfway to site, put it together then apart again and then the rest of the way to mine site.?can any one tell me the reason why, great video .
@Jerry Eicher in this case height was also a factor. >5.5M and you need to lift power lines which, believe it or not, is more expensive than partial disassembly/reassembly. It's a pity the video didn't show the truck chassis being hauled up the Eton range; that is an impressive and nerve racking sight watching a near 150t chassis being pushed and pulled by up to 4 prime movers at full noise.

sleep is Overrated they are used to provide you with energy that is used to charge the phone,computer, or tablet that you are using to writte this comment. i am an operator an North Antelope Rochelle mine and we are one of the #1 energy producers in the world. i also used to work on Oil Drilling rigs both industries are very important to our Nation.
And these trucks drive just like a car only more buttons and alot more bouncing around. i my self do not like the Liebherr they are a piece of crap here at our mine but i do like the komatzus 930E and the Big Caterpillars trucks.
Yeah! Companies spend millions for a haul truck because they like wasting money!
If you are going to tout Komatsu over Liebherr you should at least learn how to spell it. Having worked with all of the Majors - Liebherr, Komatsu, Hitachi and Cat, I think Liebherr is a technically superior build. Cat leverage their name, and Komatsu are popular because they seem to do autonomous vehicles the best. I did notice that Belaz are trying to enter the Aussie Market again. There was a "concept haul truck" called a EuroTruck, I think - it seems to be going nowhere but has some brilliant ideas.
