They are the opening act, kind of Jethro Tull/King Crimson to the headliner band's more Led Zeppelin -ish, and the fans practically boo Shire of Frodo offstage for being the antithesis of their favorite.

In 1993 there was a movie called National Lampoon's Loaded Weapon 1, it was a spoof movie parodying the Lethal Weapon franchise starring Emilio Estevez as the Mel Gibson type character and Samuel L. Jackson as the Danny Glover type character. What does this have to do with F is for Family? Well the characters names in that movie are Detective Colt and Detective Luger. I know both Colt and Luger are also both types of pistols, and Colt Luger is a send up of Baretta, but is it just a coincidence that both the movie and the show chose to use those specific names.

I like the character's mostly because they feel real, not like other shows where there cheesy and over the top.
