Different scenes are deleted in different countries. Also, several scenes that were deleted in the initial FOX broadcast made it into DVDs and episodes shown on other networks. That's probably why you're seeing scenes here that you recognise.
I knew Family Guy Had No Boundaries back when they had a scene of Meg going up stairs carrying a pack of hotdogs saying she was just going to pretend she was with a basketball team. Oh man LOL
Yeah, it was a joke about no one caring about meg, stewie tried to make them care about her but everyone acted as if she didn't exist and treated his little bruise as a life-threatening danger.
It's so good to me how this show manages it's tone. It is irreverent and crass and incredibly violent with some real pathos built in. The show isn't afraid to explore different sides of characters than you've seen, it's not afraid to do things that would piss off fans, and it's also not afraid to have genuine emotion.
