One of my absolute favorites! In addition to the Bigfoot set, I have several Heavy Metal mags that he did art in ("Den" stories). Last year, I picked up that "Banner" (Hulk) set that he did for Marvel. Incredible!
Corben is in my top 3 favorite cartoonists ever (possibly #1) and I’m trying to get everything he’s done. I remember this was hard series to find affordably, and I had got 1, 2, & 4… just needed a #3. Then one day several years ago when home sick from work I stumbled across my very first Cartoonist Kayfabe video. It was Jim Rugg’s 25 cent bin haul, and amongst his quarter finds was a Bigfoot #3!!! I was like “What?! This guy found a copy for a quarter! That can happen?!?!” And from that day I was hooked on watching these videos and took notes on everything that looked cool, with the newfound hope that I could find all my difficult wants for cheap! Thanks guys !
"..and I´m trying to get everything he´s done." Me too, man! He did all the tropes and genres, but he always seems to understand the essence of it & is able to find a great way of portraying it all. Beautiful to look at, always like watching a great film with outstanding cinematography. Richard was a true champ of his trade.
I too am currently looking for all of Corbens books.I'm about 50 books away from having them all and have been documenting my finds here on youtube. Just found Bigfoot issue #3 a few days ago. Also, i have some doubles of a lot of Corbens titles for trade.
Corben stood out among his peers because of his unique form and textures. Every legend has been mimicked and duplicated. But there isn’t anyone that draws like Corben. He unlocked a style and an expression the was so genius no one ventured to imitate it. No one was able to crack that code. Was he one of the greatest of all time, no doubt.
It certainly has some 80's Slasher movies vibe to it. But it also has the fetishistic love that Rob Zombie has for 70's cinema. The protagonist is almost a riff on Travis Bickle from Taxi Driver. It kind of reads like a fan fiction of Travis Bickle vs. Bigfoot and I'm all for that.
One of my favorite works by Corben. Reading this book brought back memories of watching Watchers when I was a kid. One of my all time favorite horror movies.
Hell speaking of bigfoot comics i remember back when I was in grade school i used to draw a lot of pictures of things like that and I'd make a few comics every now and then. Then one day me and my friend were talking about who would win in a fight this person or that person then my brother turned around and said "why don't you guys make a comic book about it?" And thats what we did. The first one we made was called Bigfoot vs Sheepsquacth it was a 10-12 page black and white comic that took 2 weeks to make (would've 3 days if i wasn't in school at the time) i showed it to some people and they liked it would have been popular if the teachers would've allowed me to use the copy machine to make copies instead of drawing the same thing all over again but it was fun to do i have no idea where it is now
my mom, and her older sisters confirmed that, told me that she watched a bigfoot alike when she was a girl, in the town, a rural area, where she lived at that time. Central area in Chile in the 50´s
Good memory regarding Bigfoot from the Six Million Dollar Man. The last time Bigfoot appears he had two different eyes. One was bionic, the other normal. Bigfoot was transforming back into a normal creature.
Just read the whole series and it was pretty unsightly. At least the Bigfoot is supposed to be scary, but the smiles on those human characters…brrr…! Feels more like Genoskwa behavior rather than Bigfoot (paddy).
This was the first Richard Corben comic I ever came across. To be honest, the story didn't do much for me. The art, on the other hand, made me want to track down everything the artist ever drew.
Loved red room issue one! Because I'm British and know it all, you need advice. 2nd issue wasn't violent enough. Maybe some dudes throwing penis darts into cubed lady bits would spice it up. I'll collect my consultancy fee later.
Back in the 00s Steve Niles was the king of horror comics.
RIP Corben ..forever a badass

Rob Zombie and Steve Niles did another mini together at Dark Horse called The Nail. Simon Bisley covers.
Don't know how I missed this one. Thanks guys for the heads up and for everything.
Great vid guys. Corben was the greatest. Still trying to complete my Corben comic collection.

Nice comic review!!
Imagine if that blonde girl in the comic was Betty Ross, the hulk's girlfriend...
Bigfoot R.I.P
Great video! How about a review of Art Adams's Creature from the Black Lagoon?
reminds me of the 1980 horror movie "Night of The Demon" it also had a freaky killer Bigfoot!

Rob Zombie and Steve Niles. Fucking cool.
Good news, this is available on digital for cheap!
Ehi really? Comixology? Searching right now 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Check out Mojo Press’s The Big Bigfoot Book that came out in 1996
This was the first Richard Corben comic I ever came across.

Corben was the man

What if there was a Bigfoot comic that had Sex, Murder, Drugs... and Comedy... if only. 😉
Reminds me of the movie Night of the Demon the 1980 killer Sasquatch movie. It's actually pretty fun.
This is not Harry and the Hendersons
