- Welcome to today's woodturning project! I haven't turned plywood in a long time, this is why I decided to make a vase out of both plywood and hardwood. And I was pretty happy with the project and how it turned out.

well done - very nice vase. It might have been easier to glue the hardwood to the plywood before cutting the segments. Just a thought.

Beautiful piece, I am heading to the shop as of now to try my hand at one. I know people don't like to give away all their secrets but a bit of detail would be nice such as the size of the pieces etc. but I guess a woody should be able to wing it.

I’d be scared to have that much overhang from the chuck without using a steady rest during the boring operation.

Beautiful! (FWIW, sprinkling a bit of coarse salt on glued surfaces immediately before assembling will keep them from sliding around without any danger of damaging anything.)

A shop video without music..... I wouldn't care if you made whatever you have a subscriber. Man I hate music in a shop vid... lol the content was grand as a plus :) I especially liked the stroboscopic effect the shutter speed of the camera matching the turning RPM of the lathe made... thanks for the video and the time it takes to edit and UL these.

Love the vase, and I'm doing it. Where did you get that plywood please? I'm guessing it's baltic birch. The 3/4" around here has 7 thick layers instead of the 9 thinner layers your has. Any advice on where to find this thinner ply plywood in general? Thanks.
