    Thank you for these videos! It's rare to find people who are so honest and genuine. It seems like the illustration market is reaching its peak, but maybe there's a way to create illustrations that are increasingly bold and meaningful in an innovative sense. I wanted to ask you: What are the most popular formats? I have the impression that photos with some space around them (a 2:1 ratio is enough) sell better.

    • @rohaneh
      @rohaneh  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I'm thrilled to hear you find my videos valuable and appreciate your kind words about their honesty and genuineness.
      You bring up an insightful point about the illustration market. It's crucial to stay innovative and create work that's bold and meaningful. This not only differentiates your portfolio but also caters to a diverse range of customer needs.
      Regarding your question about popular formats, I've personally found a slight correlation between a 2:1 aspect ratio and sales in my portfolio. My top-earning AI illustrations tend to fall within this ratio. However, it's important to note that my portfolio is quite specialized, focusing on themes like time, mental health, brain chemistry, and the intersection between the human brain and artificial intelligence.
      It could very well be that these subjects are driving sales rather than the aspect ratio itself. Given the limited sample size, it's hard to draw definitive conclusions. I would suggest trying out different aspect ratios and themes. It's all about testing and seeing what works best for your portfolio and resonates with the audience you're targeting.
      Thank you once again for your engaging question, and please don't hesitate to ask if you have more.

    "Sold for" or "My commission was"? Those are two different things.

    • @rohaneh
      @rohaneh  ปีที่แล้ว

      You are correct they are different. The distinction wasn't made as I don't report on any agency (notably Alamy) that shows the contributor the gross sale amount and the contributor's net of that amount. For my videos, in so far as I don't report on Alamy, all "sold for" are synonymous with "my commission was".

      @@miamitten1123Its actually a combination of quality and quantity. obviously, i'd hope to list good images. The 80/20 rule applies. 20% of your images will account for 80% of your sales.

      @miamitten1123 @nateg7100 it is certainly a combination of quality and quantity. 20,000 images of crap probably won't amount to much but if you're able to get 20,000 images of half decent stuff (preferably, good) with relevant keywords and titles you'll certainly earn a decent amount monthly. Nice month Rohane! Thanks for the nice comments. We are a small community on TH-cam and I love to see how everyone approaches using stock photo and video to earn a bit of side cash. I learn from your videos as well as Jason, Jeff, Matt and the rest!
    One question about envato, is there any particular reason you are no longer contributing? I loved Twenty20 as well, but haven't made the effort to reapply for Envato (despite using elements).

    • @rohaneh
      @rohaneh  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you 🙏 similarly I learn from your work too. In terms of contributing to envanto I have submitted a few things in the past such as the eye photos that I do a lot but they don't seem to want such content... they rejected 90 percent of them. When those same images were accepted by adobe and Shutterstock. It seems envato really wants photos with people in them doing people stuff lol. I haven't been talking much people photos lately but if I start to again I'll upload there. They did accept the series I did with me in the business suit
