    Your arguement to use wood instead of concrete will only make sense if you have all those trees available..in some areas the cost of that poultry house will be too expensive if you do wood. Otherwise that thing is massive wishing you all the best..am also a poultry farmer starting small @100 birds hoping to grow to 1,000, 10,000 etc the sky is the stepping stone.Keep up the good work.

    Buy 1000 tree seedlings and donate them for using so much timber just to compensate for that. Also have a contingency plan in case of a fire outbreak from maybe lightning. Too much wood is fuel fire

  • @HSstriker
    @HSstriker 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    You can also plant a few fruiting trees to compensate, these will provide shade and free feed for the chickens ;) you can plant trees that fruit at different times and save on feed.

    The second point I want to make right here is this: Boilers eat alot especially if you are feeding it with the commercial feeds. This young Uganda doctors spent alot of money on feed. I introduce my mum to the business never knowing the amount of food this birds consume until mature stage. We bought 100 day old chicks birds and they have consumed 20 bags of food already and we are looking to add in 10 more bags for them before they would be taking to the market. The price of a bag of food keeps increasing all the time you purchase them. If you have the money, buy them in bulk... check the different kind of food the birds need and stock it up one time. if not, the prices increasing all the time bcos of the inflation going on

    • @sizweshongwe331

    Like chickens, old trees don't 'eat' much. They bind CO2 much less than younger growing trees. You can use the old trees but pls keep the forest alive.

    For those of you that want to start your poultry, ensure you are ready for it Financially, especially if its Boilers. Ensure you have the market for it when is ready for sales; from experience I will prefer you starting it on August 1st, before the the Festive period (Christmas/Newyear Celebration in December) the Boilers must have Mature enough for you to sell it in good Money especially for those interested persons that lives in Nigeria.

    There is no way to justify this when the earth is 4 degrees hotter than it usually has been. Rain has become rare in many places ( what will your chickens eat if no rain to grow the corn), and both poles are melting which means rising sea levels and flooding. Recycling is the best way to go IMO. I have a farm and we have a combination of both woods and concrete….no way will I let anyone use that much woods in a single structure. Please be mindful.

    People can be such hipocrites. As big as that chicken barn is, it is NOTHING compared to the HOUSE'S, FURNITURE, WOODEN FIXTURES, etc in a lot of the homes these very same people who are complaining live in. They don't have fully concrete homes, fully concrete cabinets, fully concrete furniture....the massive depletion of forests is as a result if the high demand for lumber used for the aforementioned purposes. NOT CHICKEN BARNS!

  • @1incutheta

    Trees are a great RENEWABLE resource. It looks like a lot of the building was done by man power. You can't get much "greener" where building is concerned. People are so brainwashed by the green movement with slogans and "facts". No one really thinks any more. We just parrot everything told to us. I'm sorry people have been giving you so much crap, but I'm glad you know you weren't wrong.
