    Hi Kira and Olivia, Thank you so much for this video 💚. It was informative and entertaining to watch you guys explain everything in detail. We know german universities are unpredictable in terms of admitting students to their university and waiting for the admit takes time. Can you please make a video on how long did it take for you guys to get into an german university, the time period and your experience during this whole process😊. Thank you ! And you guys are amazing !

    • @OKKOAdventures
      @OKKOAdventures  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi! OMG you are so right! German universities don’t really have a pattern for when they tell you your admission status. In fact in our case, we had to decide to accept/decline an offer before knowing about our other applications because they were still being processed. Typically, we waited a few months (5 or so) but this varied as well. We can make a more in-depth video about this and our whole experience and sorry it is coming late, we are justing getting back into it because of some major changes! Coming back soon

    Hey Kira and Oliva . Thank you for your informative video.
    I have few quuestions
    1. How many university are you required to applay?
    2. What are The cost of living into a particular city in Germany and their associated college /university .
    Then can you make a video for this

    • @OKKOAdventures
      @OKKOAdventures  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      There is no requirement for how many to apply to, you can apply to as many universities as you want! We were so nervous about not getting into a program, so we applied to about 10 of them! Some people apply to 2 or 3, or maybe some people apply to over 30! The cost of living depends on the city! For example, we lived in Bavaria (went to FAU) and it is considered a bit more of an expensive region. But Nuremberg is great with affordable rent while Munich is more expensive in terms of rent. We can give some advice too for this in another video. :) Hope this helps! Sorry for the later reply.

    Hey Kira and Olivia. Thanks for the vid and the good vibes! I'm in my last semester of my Bachelor's degree in the School of Law here in Uruguay (I'm originally from NYC) and my question is (aside from high rent prices and this idea that everyone wants to be in Berlin, is it hard to get accepted to universities in Berlin? I studied International Relations and speak English, Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese and want to apply to the Latin American Studies program in the Freie Universität Berlin. Also, I've heard of scholarships when talking about University in Germany, are there any financial aid programs or aid programs for students? Thank you!

    • @OKKOAdventures
      @OKKOAdventures  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi Andrew! Congrats on almost finishing your degree, that is exciting! In terms of your question... Berlin is a popular city and there are great universities there so like many master degree programs in Germany it is competitive. But, you should definitely apply! We were told by many people when applying that it is hard to get in and we applied to quite a few places, in the end we did find a program perfect for us! I think your qualifications are great and Berlin is a great international city considering your study interest. When applying, we recommend to clarify why you want to study LA in Germany, specifically in Berlin and at the Freie Uni (how they fit you and you fit them essentially). There are scholarships available for intl. students! You can check out the DAAD website and filter for them. A few are offered for example from religious or political groups (Friedrich-Naumann Stiftung fur Freiheit, Heinrich Böll Stiftung, etc.) Hope this helps! Link for DAAD is www.daad.de/en/study-and-research-in-germany/scholarships/.

      Hi, there is only one way we know where you dont need to take a language test, but still show your English level and that is If you graduated with a diploma from an English speaking institution (from an English speaking country). This depends on the university. Here is the daad link with it filtered for English master programs, you can find under each program the requirements and see what they require for English. Sorry so far we haven't found any university without the English test, just this exception with where you graduated from. www2.daad.de/deutschland/studienangebote/international-programmes/en/result/?q=&fos=&cert=&admReq=&scholarshipLC=&scholarshipSC=°ree%5B%5D=2&langDeAvailable=&langEnAvailable=&lang%5B%5D=2&cit%5B%5D=&tyi%5B%5D=&ins%5B%5D=&fee=&bgn%5B%5D=&dat%5B%5D=&prep_subj%5B%5D=&prep_degree%5B%5D=&sort=4&dur=&subjects%5B%5D=&limit=10&offset=&display=list&lvlEn%5B%5D=

Is it equivalent to 1 semester long class in high school? One year?

    • @OKKOAdventures
      @OKKOAdventures  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@calliekuykendall8597 The HZB is your university entrance qualification, which is essentially your high school diploma/transcript this gives you qualification to university education. In the US, all high schools require 2-3 years of math to even graduate. Based on this if you need 2-3 academic units of math to qualify, you would need 2-3 years of math. I would suggest that the academic units are the academic years. But, to be honest I would confirm with the university you are interested in just in case. The high school qualification is generally not questioned as long as you meet the standard requirements to graduate in your home high school. I hope this helps 😅😊

    • @OKKOAdventures

      Hi Anne! I remember we did have to get official copies of our transcript and diploma. But, I think the best course of action would be to ask/email the universities you are interested in if you can apply with your transcript (however tell them that you have all credits completed for you Bachelor and it is shown on your transcript, i.e 150 ETCS required / 150 ETCS completed). I did this for one program! If it is not shown on your transcript (though I think it would be), I would contact your program coordinator and have them write an official letter describing your circumstance and that you are to graduate successfully). Maybe doing both options will help. Best of luck! ☺️ -Kira (OKKO)

    • @OKKOAdventures
      @OKKOAdventures  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi, we remember when applying most universities in Germany do not require you to submit GRE/GMAT score. I think only a few selected programs... specifically in Mannheim and Berlin (as least when we applied). To be honest, I would only put them in if the scores are really good. But, I am not sure if that would even make a difference to be honest. We worked in our University's department before and worked with the people who evaluated the applications. Most I would say have a standard checklist. So if you meet this, this, this (for example, GPA, internationalization, English score, etc.) then you get so many points and the top ones make it into the program. - It is a standard and fair evaluation scale. So it might be that even if you put it in, they might not even look at. I think it really is up to your discretion. Hope this helps... Good luck and wishing you all the best in the futue! 😊🇩🇪☀️

It was in a huge lecture hall with many people, we had about 1 hour to answer questions. It was mathematically geared questions to which we could bring a calculator. I think the idea behind the test is that they know it is difficult and you have to try and answer the questions as best you can. Hope this helps! please I am a foriegner from iraq can some one tell me about the cost to study MA in english?????

      @OKKOAdventures  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! This depends on the program! Many universities have “free” tuition with a few extra fees. we paid roughly 300 per semester for our Uni in Nuremberg, Germany. Definitely take a look at different programs you are interested in and they will usually have a break down on thar information. We recommend using the DAAD website! Good luck! ❤️

    Hi. Thank you for that information. I’m thinking of applying with my fiancé. His English is not that good. What can he do to improve it and what are his chances of getting in with a low level of English proficiency?

      Hi! It may honestly be difficult if your Fiancé doesn’t know German or English at the B1/B2 level. There are language programs or language exchanges that are great resources! Check out Facebook, there are some groups there. You can meet in person or do them online. Personally, watching TV in English is fun as an additional resource. Wishing him and you both luck!

    Hi, guys! Thanks for the video. I had a question, is it possible to apply for a master's program in Germany without your bachelor's degree (This last being issued 2 or 3 months after the application deadline)?

    Can i ask my final gpa is 2.2 and my math grad are around c to b- can i still apply for the university in german ..... ms in math actually i wanna apply......

      @OKKOAdventures  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi :) One of the best things to do is to see the requirements for the universities you are interested in because there could be a gpa minimum. Also, when applying in your application letter you may get the chance to explain for example a “bad” grade (true story for us!), of course we don’t recommend making an excuse but the truth - maybe realizing the course work was overwhelming because of adjusting to work-life balance (this of course may not be your case). GPA is not everything, many universities also look at other aspects of your CV. For example, our university looked also for international experience. Wishing you luck!

      It depends on the university that you are applying. Just go through the course requirements in the university's website.

    How much will it cost to study in DE?

    • @OKKOAdventures
      @OKKOAdventures  ปีที่แล้ว

      That depends on the region in Germany and which university you are attending. Some universities are now starting to charge tuition while others are mostly still "free" (some charges like Public Transport). Also, if you live in Nuremberg vs. Munich, there could be a big cost difference because of housing/rent costs. In this case, studying in Munich, you might expect to pay more. To give yourself a good idea about costs, look at the University's tuition and where in Germany it is. - Hope this helps!
