I don't often get around to preserving anything from my garden, especially this year! So I was so happy when I had enough Jalapenos to pickle and can! The Recipe that I used is found here: vanillaandbean.com/pickled-ja...
I love how easy this canning recipe is and the recipe even has a refrigeration pickling method if you don't want to go through the process of water bath canning! We love jalapenos and the spice that they bring every meal! We're so happy to have fresh pickled peppers until they grow again next year!!

Just did 10 half pints Great recipe Thank you VERY MUCH for this!!!
I am a canner but never have done jalapeños.Excellent job explaining how to do this.
This is probably one of the easiest canning explanations I’ve watched. I don’t know how to can but this makes me want to try it out and stock up on some yummy pickled jalapeños. ❤️
Awww this comment made me feel so happy! I tried to make it as un-intimidating as possible :) We cracked them open last night... YUM!
Thanks for sharing this recipe! We love trying new pickled pepper recipes. So good!
Simple have to share this. Thank you for sharing 👍
thanks for this video and including the recipe! i was having trouble finding just a simple pickled jalapeño recipe for my plants that produced a lot this year. i love pickled jalapeños on nachos too!
Thank you. Thanks for giving us the info we need to successfully make a delicious snack & for not taking 30 mins to do so. You have a new subscriber. 👍
You're welcome! I really TRY to not talk to much, but I'm known to drone on every once in awhile lol
They look delicious 🌶
Thanks for the clip great job 👍
Girl our jalapeños grew like crazy, we had so many. I preserved them and we haven't even made a dent in my stock. Thank you for showing us this!
The ducks and hornworms hammered them but luckily I got JUST enough for canning!
Awesome
Just finished a few jars literally a few minutes ago! Cant wait to try them once theyre ready! 🙌
Hope you enjoy! We love this super easy recipe!!! I can't wait for our Jalapenos this year to ripen!
Nice
Ashley you did fantastic explaining this! You did good! The only thing is with these new Ball lids you don't have to do the boiling water to soften the sealant on them. Just wash them and rinse in warm tap water. Be sure to debubble them! And take your rings off after about 12 hours.
Happy Thanksgiving!
I got your message on FB and I'm hoping to get my questions to you this week! I really value your notes and response on this video :) Guru speaks to the grasshopper :)
Put jalapenos into the jars and then add brine and totally skip the boiling process not needed. They will preserve that fresh look and taste wonderful
Thanks for the suggestion!
@@MulberryBranchFarm one more thing you can also flip your jars upside down when you place them in boiling water allowing for a more shallow pot and less water. It’s really all about getting a good seal and not having to “cook” the contents in the jar. You won’t get this stuff on TH-cam only herd info. Happy canning.
@@limeallens6160that's true that's our my Aunt in Alabama do her in I'm going to do mines like that ❤❤
Even if not stored in fridge? My gut tells me you're right but there is a lot of fear and "canning police" on YT these days.
I like the simplicity of this recipe, what does the sugar in the brine taste, is it sweet ?
No not too much at all!
👍👍..........
Great job! While you were cutting the peppers I’m over here yelling at the video telling you to put your gloves on. Ha! Hopefully you didn’t touch anything like your face before thoroughly washing your hands. Not that that’s ever happened to me. Lol Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
HAHA! I know! Luckily they weren't burning me up too bad and I didn't touch my face which is a miracle because I am not a careful person lol. I hope your Thanksgiving was a happy one!
I am new to canning…noticed you didn’t have a rack on the bottom of the pot. Any problems not using one?
I’ve only ever had one jar bust and it was only half full. I would recommend a rack for pressure canning but I’ve never had issues when water bath canning

Can you just pour cold vinegar in jars and then process?
I’m sure there are recipes out there that process that way but I’ve not used a recipe like that so I can’t answer it confidently
I was the 421th like 😅
Is the sugar really necessary
I would assume that there are other recipes out there that exclude sugar but I really enjoy this recipe so I stick with adding the sugar though I’m sure other recipes exclude it. A quick google search would probably provide you with a multitude of sugarless recipes
Umm... the jalapeños might not get mushy if you didn't cook them in the brine before canning.
Only if over blanched. Most canning recipes I’ve used for veggies require blanching prior to canning. Blanching is often utilized to help destroy bacteria or anything that might create spoilage and lessen the shelf life of whatever it is you are preserving
Also dont touch your eyes while handling peppers! I made that mistake once😢
Sugar? No
