Excellent solution! Thanks for the update. * Wise move taping up the U-Joint bearings, I remember losing the little needle rollers all over the garage floor once. It wasn't a nice experience :) AND...thanks for mentioning your New Zealand subb-ers!
I can relate to handling an axle by yourself, some years ago I was changing out a front drive axle on an International truck I bought from a fire department, handling that new axle was a bear to do,ended up sitting on the ground with my back against the house and using my feet and legs to push it into the right position to bolt it in.

So glad you posted a project update video on Christmas, it's like a gift!! Thank you so much for sharing your content, I really enjoy what you do. I hope your Christine will be up and running soon, you've done an amazing job. Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!
Just finished Christmas dinner. Wheel adjustment looks great now on video. Well done. Great ingenuity swapping the rear axles. Have a merry Christmas!! Greetings from the Netherlands 🇳🇱
Merry Christmas man you have just pushed Christmas over the top great video, that was way to easy man but wow wheel looks great in the opening,a little backspacing on the wheel boom done, from what you showed doesn't look like the rear is going to hit the tank time will you are there and I am not,all looks great, waiting on the next video, God bless and peace out
Now the rear wheels are perfectly positioned in the arch, and most importantly, they went in as deep as they needed to. Previously, with a wide rear end, they stuck out too much. Christina's wheels must be recessed into the arches, it's part of the style.
Another way to get small pattern is to use 1988 to 1992 camaro 1le 12 inch rotors 94 dollar each speedway motors . I read about it in hotrod magazine or car craft many years ago when they used caprice wagon spindles and camaro 1le rotors to get big bakes on older chevelles with small bolt pattern . Bearing diameter reserch is recomended . I think the big 12 brakes need 15 inch wheels
Way back before I got a tall tranny jack I'd wrap 2 ratchet straps around the rearend attaching the release end on the outside of the body(usually the bumper) remove all attaching points, lower the lift, release the straps, raise the rearendless chassis back up leaving the diff sitting on the floor... Much easier and safer than any other way if one hasn't the stands and tranny jack..
"Christine! A Taming of a Beast!... Thanks! Merry Christmas!
Just know you are just as much appreciated!!!!
Thank you! 💪

Cool new rear endings. The Crow is a nice movie. Merry Christmas! Cheers from Brazil.

It’s looking great, hard work pays off. Merry Christmas, keep turning those wrenches.
We’re getting there. Little by little.

Car is looking great! Love your old Buick too! Reminds me of the car in “From a Buick 8” by Stephen King!
Yeah. I haven’t read/listened to the audio book on that one yet.
Gosto de ver seu trabalho, me dá ideias inspiradoras.
I’m glad I can inspire you.

I probably have just as many in boxes not on the shelves.
Perfect,,, Merry Christine
Merry Christmas!
Looks like you've got it solved. Hopefully you asked Santa for a pinion seal😊
No way. Let it drip.
Looks great!
Thanks, it’s coming along!
Cool video 👍👍👍👍💯💯💯💯💯💯💯

Other than that Oldsmobile rally wheel it looks perfect now.. 👍 👌
We will swap those out

I agree. I knew I’d figure it out eventually.
Nice
I used Spohn Performance for my custom arms. They are on a 66 Caddy chassis. The whole set was $260 before shipping. This was in '22, though.
I’ve seen a few sets. Maybe I’ll just get some steel and properly extend mine. Or build my own.
You may be able to swap the front rotors to 4.750 bolt pattern by changing the inner bearing and race.
I need to look into it. I believe the spindles were beefy compared to stock. Someone will surely know.
You may use smaller caprice 77 to 90 sedan or coupe spindles and rotors if jou want 4 3/4 bolt pattern and cleraranse for 14 inch wheels
@@hansnordstrom2373 yeah that’s what I thought. I think I just need to change the ball joints.
Another way to get small pattern is to use 1988 to 1992 camaro 1le 12 inch rotors 94 dollar each speedway motors . Year on the caprice ? Year and model on the pontiac frame ? Heimjoints on a driver open for dirt
89 caprice Pontiac was a 74 I think. I have a lot more figuring to do. I think the spindles are different unfortunately.

I’ve done similar engineering.
Do you have Christine on VHS? I'm sure you do.
@@stude1953 I do
@@RottenBuick actually, I wonder how many different formats its on, Beta, RCA CED VideoDisc etc, would be cool to get them all 🤣
Merry Christmas from Australia
I read they may do a remake of the film Christine. Maybe they can use your car. lol
Ha. I don’t think they’d need mine. 😆
So ... where is Leonardo?
@@Lucas_Tulic he must have fallen down. They’re all there. 🤣
@RottenBuick He must be eating some pizza.😂
Adding the inch to the lower arm will throw off your springs and shocks
I addressed that in the video…..
Christmas day update, is there anything better? I doubt it, I hope you have a great Christmas and Christmas Dinner.
Making ham and cabbage as we speak. Thanks! You too!
