The single best weapon system is Rocket turrets with signal tower, The rockets will fire at anything that is in range of a signal tower. I put down 12-16 rockets turrets on a planet and then spread out the signal towers around a planet. Also geothermal power stration is needed to cap off old bases to shut them down and on lava planets they make a TON of power. Lastly missiles on you are the best weapon system for destroying bases you can fire far enough away the base can not hit you.
Missile defense is so good. They'll also fire to nearby planet if it's in range and signal tower there detects enemies. I also love the high explosive shells and cannons. I put the shells on Icarus and attack bases with it. With a row of cannons nearby, I can retreat back to them for support. Then have missiles and signal towers also provide support.
Ah, welcome to the fun part of the game! Also, you do have enough firepower to take down the basic bases. Level 1s are pretty easy as long as you stay out of their range, and your basic turrets are good enough for that. Also, when you are actively fighting with turrets, you can use the Supernova overcharge thingy to deal a lot of damage. It's pretty great for assaulting the bases with turret creep!
You dont have to slow down...you just plop to the surface at full speed. And also as others said, get the rocket launchers going, they deal with the attacks way better.
A strategy that worked well for me as far as BPs so far is that I first put together generalized 1-input PLS assemblers, generalized 2-input PLS assemblers, generalized 3-input PLS assemblers, and generalized 4-input PLS assemblers. Then, as I expanded, I set the recipes on a generalized assembler and balanced the inputs and outputs, then saved it as a specialized assembler. I did that for basically every ingredient/building one by one, so now every time I need to increase x ingredient, I can simply plop down the relevant specialized assembler. I have separate smelting, but you can combine it into blueprints if you want. But I typically focused on bulk production speed, hence making it easier for me to handle each step of assembly on its own, including smelting. But it’s up to you if you want to focus on creating a blueprint that can input raw materials and output a finished product, or if you take a more assembly line approach and have ridiculously fast blueprints each handling one step at a time. Blueprints are a game changer, but I always promised myself that I wouldn’t use outside blueprints, I made myself design all the blueprints I use. It really teaches you so much about the game.
You really should try the logistics distribution system. They are like the towers but on a smaller scale. Add them to any storage with the logistics bots transferring to another storage
I wonder if the game informs you (player) if you're off world bases (depending upon which world you're on at the moment) are being, or have been attacked!
You're skipping over buildings that were added between your old playthrough and combat update - logistic distributors for chest-to-chest and chest-to-player delivery, geothermal generators to get power from lava, and proliferators that increase crafting speed or quantity. For late game there's also tier 2 mining machine and tier 2 chem factory.
Z, were you aware that twitch changed their policy recently. You can now stream on twitch and YT at the same time and it shouldn't affect your partnership status with them. Please look into it. I would love to be able to watch you live from YT. Please and thank you.

Please keep this series going. You give me so much good information and inspiration

pro tip: if you make a square of 8 power towers and stand in the middle of it, you will recharge in a split second

i liked this game except the finite resource nodes nothign more that I hate than having to redo my base because resources ran out.
You can change it to infinite
@@Z1Gaming oh snap!? really? does that disable achviements?
Z look into the rocket turrets there is also a way to have them auto attack I'm not sure how tho sure you could look into that bit dude
