    saw josh in ft. lauderdal at musicians exchange where randy california let him jam. it was a spirit show. 1991, josh was a little kid. then he went on to play with a couple of friends of mine in the rhino cats. funny his blues licks were truer sounding in the rhino cats. not diggin the jazzy nashville tele like licks which i call knat notes.

    Why is Eric sitting down ?

    • @1AnitrasDance
      @1AnitrasDance  7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      He talks about it if you listen. It's easier for him to play that guitar sitting down because he plays left handed and the thing that connects the strap is on the wrong side for it to be used by him. So he has no strap and is therefore sitting down.

    You can't tell Josh but I think this is his best tone ever of all the jams. I know he just released a new Ibanez, looks killer, but man how can you deny this tone here bra?
    LP for the win!

    man that Josh is insane on the guitar. the man can get more mileage from one string across 3 frets than i can find on the whole neck plus some.

  • @Paddy126

    I'm confused. the playing is so excellent but the singing is nowhere near as good. Because of this the canvas is not complete (unless this is really meant to be a guitar/ bass & drums clinic). Derek Trucks, Jimmy Page, Richie Blackmore and others take the time and pay the bucks to bring a great singer into the equation. Isn't it enough to just be a great guitar player and get a better singer to raise it all to yet another level? Bob Dylan and Mark Knopler got around by writing great lyrics and melodies. Confused.

    • @kimmolingonheimo
      @kimmolingonheimo 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      im with Pat here, cant make sense of one word hes singin especially as the songs are new to me, maybe on a record its different? im a songwright and a guitarist and goin thru an electric gtr sound an technique phase so this fits me just fine but after a couple of muddy lyrics pieces the brilliance of technique stands on a shaky ground pardon my french an the pun...fun though...Redd Volkaert is very articulate in both his playing an singin...LOL and YOLO an all that jazz Kimmo :)

    • @cameronwalshguitar
      @cameronwalshguitar 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Better on the recordings. These guys are great singers, remember, this is blues. It aint a pop song. These boys are some of the best guitar players around that don’t claim to be amazing singers, most people go to their shows for the blues and guitar solos

    • @YannGuillermou
      @YannGuillermou 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think I'd like it better without any singing, they could just play the themes at the beginning and end of the songs as in a bebop tune, and improvise in between

    • @SimpleManGuitars1973
      @SimpleManGuitars1973 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@YannGuillermou Honestly, if Josh Smith and Joe Bonamassa could sing they'd be as much of a household name as John Mayer. They don't really write as good of "songs" as John does either but still if they could really sing with a distinctive voice as John they could probably be about as well known as him because they're definitely within his stratosphere with their command of the instrument.
