I learned this many years ago and of course it is gold. Brava for sharing these vital secrets to opera singing.

Thank you so much! This works -- instantly. And the fly exercise is fun to do instead of being a chore.

I never liked Schwarzkopf, but the idea of focused head resonance is right.

Coloraturas are not supposed to have light voices…common misconception and bad teaching

Do you know what you are talking about? She is a very famous teacher in Italy.

There is a difference between lightning the coloraturas and actual light voices.
The principal is if you put too much weight on the coloraturas they will become heavy, slow, and very difficult to achieve, not to mention your onset will be catastrophic and you will lose too much air in the process.
If you want to sound big, you have to lose the ego, and stop trying to "sound bigger and heavier"- it only brings the opposite results.
I never studied with Capucine, but I am a professional singer and singing teacher, and I have learned a lot only from watching her videos.
I had my fair share of awful singing teachers through the years- she is definitely NOT one.
