@@johnhonda93 I don't know about crazy. I mean I eat a chicken without even thinking twice about the chicken. It's a little crazy we put so much more value on a puppy vs a chicken. I mean a little puppy is about as smart as a chicken and really the only major difference is the cute factor.

@@kkknotcool that's not the same thing tho.. there's more to it than just cuteness. Although that does play a factor. You think of chicken as food, not a companion. So that make a big difference on how the animal is perceived. you wouldn't eat a dog would you? And what if it was a chick instead of a chicken? Would that change things for you?

It's what % of the members income goes to the organization.
A church that gets an average of 2% of members income to pay for a building is less cult like than a church that gets 20% of the members income to rent a place and pay the leader a $300k salary.

The Book of Mormon, under which black people were treated as second class citizens until 1978, is basically just a retelling of what you'd learn during Black History Month.

@@jaredhutchinson4629 Actually, what I did was I noted the absurdity of the Mormon girl saying that somehow the Book of Mormon encapsulates the lessons of Black History Month, then I _combined_ that with the approximately 130 year tradition of Mormonism's teaching that black people were *_theologically_* inferior to white people and thus unable to hold the priesthood (which white men and boys get even if they are imbeciles) or attain the highest levels of salvation. Then I used that to better highlight the absurdity of the Mormon girl's statement. But, hey! You _almost_ understood it, so good job, buddy! Maybe next time!

@@Mkluh : it explains that blackness was a curse handed down by God. Also Black people weren't allowed in the Mormon Church until 1978. So basically the opposite of what the young lady in the video said.

The doctrine of the Book of Mormon does not teach that there are any groups whose physical markers make them worth less than others. Nor does the doctrine of the church. The book of Mormon does teach righteousness, faithfulness, humility, patience, and love to all. So what that young woman said was referring to the actual words in the Book of Mormon, not the history of flawed men. Every institution is bound to be flawed, in their nature, that doesn't remove all of the truth from them. God cannot force anyone to be perfect or without sin, and it is human beings who create organizations here on Earth, so they will always be with flaws--that does not mean they're not based in true doctrine, or that they're not on the correct path. The church's stance on this is also very clear, and they have acknowledged many times their flawed history, in great detail, and condemned it. Also, the curse you're referring to was a curse that based on what we know of history, was on certain tribes of Native Americans. The "blackness" mentioned in the Book of Mormon does not refer to the blackness of for instance, someone from African lineage. Here is a great resource for this: rsc.byu.edu/book-mormon-second-nephi-doctrinal-structure/lamanite-mark @@videoguyinfinity

you’re right bestie, trust. it’s also a “curse” to be black as well! now it’s justified where if you repent for race or sexual orientation enough it’s just kinda ignored as long as you stay away from the white-straight mormons and don’t speak out being black or lgbt. i’m also not just saying stuff, i’m biracial and the white side of my family was mormon until the 80’s/90’s. it’s different now but it was a little more strict back then.
