I was quoted $1,000 dollars by one shop. $770 by another. I found your video and thought if you can do the job with 1 hand and video tape with the other one then I should be able to do it with 2 hands. I did take off the skid plate shield under the front. Radiator, hoses and fluid was about $160 with advance auto coupons and it took my son and I about 3 hours going slow. Thank you.
This is one of the best videos replacing a radiator I have seen. Sweet and short... no words, turning wrenches... straight to the problem..... done! Great video and great job Fix it Angel..!
Incredible job. Pep Boys (Santa Clarita, CA) gave my son a written quote for $1,350 for exact same job and exact same car. Ordered parts worth $155, should be an interesting bonding time with my son Christopher. Thank you very much sir.
Just wanted to say thank you for this video. I watched it a few times and by the time I changed my radiator I had it memorized. You saved me over $500. Thanks.👍🏼
Update! Given our zero experience, it took my son and I two and a half hours to replace radiator and thermostat. I'd say it was a resounding success. Chris took me to lunch and a little clothes shopping with the money he save. Thank you again, sir.
This is awesome! My wife's 07 Camry overheated the other day. I've got the same conditions, coolant residue everywhere and seeping all around the radiator edge. Some leaking at the bottom. Ordering parts to replace it myself and save some $$$. Been doing repairs on my 05 tundra over the last couple of years as well. Thanks for the great vid!
+Khyber Safi Thank you!! The other hand is holding the camera. LOL this is my way of doing videos, First Person Point of View. Way different from all the other Auto videos. I'm happy you like it. Please share and subscribe.
Khyber Safi Harder being one armed wallpaper hanger. One armed Toyota repair mechanic is easier thanks to outstanding Toyota design team. That 's why I own a Toyota.
No no no. Nevermind the fact that he replaced the radiator one handed and made it look easy. What's even more impressive is the fact that he controlled the camera one handed and got 100% all good steady clear shots even in the tight hard to reach spaces. I'm speechless. He was one handedly performing two completely separate tasks simultaneously. How is this not a viral video. I'm gonna force everybody I know watch this!
Dude, you're awesome! No superfluous talking. Any important details was shown as script. Any details for resources added in. Excellent editing. Now if only you could make a video replacing the AC fan shroud on 2009 Corolla, that would be great!
Cool video. Was gonna get the mechanic's to possibly do it. Now after watching your video I'm thinking save $, if I just do it myself. I do most of the fixing on my cars lately using videos off TH-cam sometimes. I'm a female just learning, but it's great learning how to fix my own cars when I can. Love your video mate👍 I've seen one other video where they have the car on a hoist and take the bottom parts off. You make it simple. Thanks.
I am a 50-year-old woman and I was having problems with my alternator and I could not afford to pay someone to fix it. This video was amazing I replaced my alternator all by myself it took me about an hour and 15 minutes and I just want to thank you so much for this video because I couldn't have done it without your video! thank you for posting this 💕💕💕
Great video, I have the about same amount of mileage on my 2009 Camry. Right around 152,000 and my radiator has a slow leak to where i have to fill the reservoir quite frequently. Thanks!
Excellent one handed how-to-video as always! For my 1998 sienna van what could cause the fans to stop working? Just replaced radiator(d/t a leak) & thermostat. Radiator fans seems to work when directly connected to the battery. Pls give me some direction in how to troubleshoot this issue. Thank you!
Can you tell me on a 2015 camry with the I 4 engine can you tell me where are engine block drain bolts for coolant, and torque. Thanks...Great Channel!!!
Awesome Video. Single Handed and No Yakking. Amazing stuff. I am planning to do the same work on my 2004 Avalon XLS (V6) this week. Is the process the same for both cars? Does the temp sensor not have to be switched over from the old radiator to the new one, or would you recommend replacing it? Also, I am planning to replace the hoses as well at this time.
Best to change the thermostat when u change the radiator..it's cheap and easy to do and a good time to do it because you've already drained the coolant anyway..it's just two bolts and out with the old and drop in the new, just remember to install with the jiggle valve at the top..easy peasey.
Totally awesome! One hand!! What is the procedure to change out the cooling fan motor? My cooling fan motor is out. Would the whole assembly including with the radiator fan motor need to be taken out just change the cooling fan motor? Thanks Ron
Just replaced my 2004 Toyota camry radiator in this Chicago cold within 3hrs following every steps in this video..Thank you so much for helping me..I didnt actually bleed the system of air after changing the radiator, would that pose a problem?
Well it is a bit different on the 2007 solara as 4 cylinder. I had to remove the battery then the white dirt/dust container from the air intake before I can remove the air intake assembly. Also the fan does not snap into place but rather screw on. Thanks to this video it only cost me the parts.
What is the other radiator that is in front of that one? I bought a new radiator because my car was in an accident and busted the radiator, but I only got one in the box and the car has two?
question I accidently unplugged my ac. coolent line from the radiator, what does that do, and I how do I put pressure back, I didn't realize there were 2 parts to the radiator, it would be nice if you would of explained the parts what there are, what not to disconnect things like that, I saw your video after I disconnect my line, wish I saw it before I started
Please help! I changed out my radiator and everything went smoothly, but after bleeding the system and taking the car out for a drive, there is a bunch of smoke coming out of the engine. The temperature guage shows that everything is normal so the car doesn't seem to be overheating. It's white smoke and it seems to be coming from the radiator. Has anybody seen something like this happen? What could be the problem.
Outstanding demo and with one hand on the camera during the whole repair. Well done!

I really appreciate this video. It only took you 9 minutes, with one hand. ;-) I anticipate 3+ hours with both of my hands. LOL. Thank you sir!

Thank you for the video. I got the same problem like this. Will go to auto part to oder a new one and replace it. Your video help me a lot.
Do I also need to replace Thermostat after replacing a new radiator?
I don't have spill free funnel like you. Can I use regular one?
You don't have to use a funnel. Just keep filling it until all bubble are out, should take about 10-15 minutes.
It's always recommended to replace the thermostat.

Gonna have to give this a try. Auto shop was trying to charge us 700. They think you have to take the front bumper off to get to the radiator. Thanks!
The shop is all talk!! I hate that!! They want you to think it's so hard to do. Just take your time doing it. Please like and subscribe.
that's true , they asked me 800 $ plus tax. So, lets do by ourselves

Is replacing the thermostat necessary if just the radiator is busted.?

What is the procedure to change out the cooling fan motor? My cooling fan motor is out. Would the whole assembly including with the radiator fan motor need to be taken out just change the cooling fan motor?
Thanks Ron
Hello Ron, Thank you for the comment. You do not need to remove the radiator, just the whole fan assembly. Welcome
Fix It Angel
The whole fan assembly would be the housing bracket? Or just remove the motor itself and install the new one? Thanks for replying!
Yes the whole housing bracket. Welcome anytime. Have a nice day.

You're courteous as heck!! Thanks a bunch!

I did this also on my 2001 Camry LE . Except I didn't have to remove the front grill
Bracket
Please I would like to know the location of the bolt in the engine block for drain All coolant
At the base of the radiator theres usually a plug to drain most of the coolant
What is the other radiator that is in front of that one?
I bought a new radiator because my car was in an accident and busted the radiator, but I only got one in the box and the car has two?
Hi David, The one in the front on the radiator is the air conditioner condenser. It's a seperate system from the engine cooling system.
Thanks for the fast reply.
So I may not have AC anymore but the car will still drive ok.
welcome, yes
Is there ANYWHERE that has a video on how to do this on a FRIKKIN' AVALON?!?
Nice
If its the radiator do i need to change thermostat too? Or can i just do radiator?
Daves Channel hi, you can only replace the radiator but it’s always good to replace the thermostat in the same time.
