I discovered Simon Sinek maybe a year and a half ago - saw his original TED talk. I was miserable at my current job, where I was in management, and was so inspired by his talk that I began a weekly meeting with my team to focus on “leadership” ideas and discuss what would make us flow better as a unit to reach our goals. Needless to say, while my meetings were really popular with my employees, my boss felt like it was a waste of time and shut me down. That experience ultimately led me to completely change careers. Now, I am building a business and brand with the goal of creating an ideal team experience! Where it’s not just about lining the boss’s pockets. I truly believe the only way to be rich and happy is to make sure you can bring others up with you and give them what they deserve - in terms of trust, security, gratitude and money. More people should pay attention to the ideas Simon and Jay share! It’s not an easy path to pave, but I believe it’s certainly worth the effort!
I think that's awesome. You did it without waiting for a position that may have been more advantageous. And yes the story plays out and some may think what they want to think.. i'm like.. you did that then? We know how hard that can be. Takes a lot of guys. I only wonder what else you would be capable of..
