does this have a soak or can you pause it to soak? thank you so much for you kindness in doing this demo for us who live far from stores for learning whats happening in the exciting world of washing!
How are you able to look inside while the washer is running? We saw your video and you were able to, when we open the lid the washer doesn't move. We wanted to see how full the water gets at different settings?
Initial impressions! Doesn't seem too bad. There is decent bloom action to be seen here, albeit it's on the slower side. Items did recirculate multiple times, and that can't be said about the outgoing model. Water level is pretty decent, not too much and not too little. I would be interested in the medium setting to see how that would fair. Auto seems pretty close to perfect though, At least for a machine of this description. The lack of intermediate spin between wash and rinse makes sense, because they're trying to prevent the softener from dispensing. It spins between rinse one and two to dispense the softener. Without extra rinse, there is a spin between wash and rinse. I'm still not a fan of the flat impeller machines, but this machine shows that it is capable of blooming, at least to an extent. That said I would probably take the impeller version of this, the Whirlpool 5010.
Well, however, if you ever got a Flat Impeller or a Flat Agipeller Machine, would you replace the Flat Impeller/Agipeller with the Tall Impeller/Agipeller for some better cleaning, if you know how to replace the Washer parts, just like how ScantPear2004 knows how on his Machines? 🤔
Yes the bloom looks good with ripped and torn garments. There are more edges to catch the fins. I have identical washer and am getting no bloom with normal, untorn garments. They slosh back and forth but never turn over or even change relative position. It would be nice to see a demo of bloom with normal garments, then I'll know if I'm doing something wrong.
@@ElevatorWasher5000 Whirlpool also made a 5000 replacement which is the 5010. Whirlpool discontinued the WTW5000DW and replaced it with the WTW5010LW. They also discontinued the WTW5005KW and replaced it with the WTW5015LW. But the WTW4850HW, WTW4855HW, WTW4950HW, and WTW4955HW have a low stock rate on Whirlpool’s website and some sites even list them as discontinued.
Thank you for this video. I just ordered the set yesterday and I think I’m going to call and cancel and pick a new set. Why is it soooo loud. It also doesn’t seem to put in enough water on auto. Those clothes weren’t moving enough to even get clean. 😐
@@DylBuilder1 Which Maytag or SQ? My TC5 is great- far better than any Whirlpool product. Did a deep fill today- water all the way up to the top. Unlike Maytag, it never goes out of balance. Better suspension, two metal tubs, no plastic gears in the transmission and washes fast- about 30 minutes- far better. No comparison. Maytag will clean well- but they are not reliable says many. The commercial version is essentially the same as their $500 machine I don't care what anyone says. Maybe a larger capacitor and black graphics.
I am looking at the 5430 model. Anything I should know or beware of. Feature differences? Similar? Thanks. Enjoyed the agitator action on this 4505 model. Looks like it does pretty well compared to the LG 7305.
18:56 How do you add more water? You said that you hit pause button? If yes, there is pause button for adding more water? Does any know where to add more water? Thanks!
At the beginning of your video the lid is open while the clothes are washing how in the world do you get the lid open while the clothes are washing.. I guess I'm learning to live with this machine but I do not like the fact I can't open the lid with the cycle running to see if I've got enough water or if I would like to add more clothes
Just got this washer today, thank you for this! I was very confused on the spray rinse and can't find any info on it (granted I haven't looked a ton yet). So am I correct in saying that there is no way to do the Auto setting but with a regular rinse that runs once? Either have to run the Max setting (which fills the tub) or do the Auto Extra Rinse (which gives two rinses). If so - what a pain! I did try the Medium water level and that still seemed to do the spray rinse, but I was working so maybe I missed it? Again, thanks for talking thru this. 👍
Hi Kirk ! On the new Maytag washer 5035 we will have a towel cycle… On the Maytag washer 4505 there is no towel cycle. My question is in which cycle can we wash your towel on the 4505 ? Please let me know ! Thank you Kirk
Can anyone tell me how this gentleman was able to run this washer with the lid open? I am just trying to run a smaller load and and it wont run (Lid Lock Down) unless I put a much larger load in it, Thanks.I have the exact same Model.
This washer stinks mostly for me cause it will not fill with enough water. I also wish someone would tell us how the lid can remain open here. Lots of people want that answer,
Yeah this damn thing does not fill up. It should be renamed to shallow fill. I have read about many people using hoses to fill it. I ended up running my wash thru 3 times in max extra rinse trying to get enough water . Worst purchase I ever made. I had no idea this rotten government had already taken control of water usage in washers.
Does anyone know of a new washer model that allows you to completely fill the tub with water. This one does not, no matter what setting you use. They should call it Shallow Fill instead of Deep Fill
I need to be honest. WTF? I just want a 1 cycle washing machine that fits my clothes and last for 15-20yrs. This thing makes so many noises and starts and stops, I keep thinking it’s broken. That’s a real review. Maytag can stick it
While I like the idea of it spinning while filling with water I'm not sure this is good for longevity. I think that the less start/stop cycles a product/component has the better it's life expectancy will be. This machine seems to be not only starting and stopping a motor, and maybe a clutch, but is also switching between hot and cold lines.
Water level: whatever was on the clothes before you put it in apparently. How the heck is this supposed to wash with so little water. Looks like it beats the life out of your clothes prematurely.
Remember it's not the water that cleans, it's the detergent. The water just moves the detergent through the fibers. Using 70 to 100 gallons of hot water like people did back when electricity was free only dilutes the detergent and reduces cleaning effectiveness. However.... top loaders are so archaic and flawed in their design that they *need* lots of water to get everything wet to begin with. Just dump the old top loaders and tumble everything and all the problems are solved. And no, mold is not an issue and hasn't been since 2003.
@@DylBuilder1 yes they work together but if the detergent is not concentrated enough to dissolve non-polar molecules and bring them into solution, then literally no amount of water will clean the soil from the fabric. Water is helpful to move detergent and to rinse it out, which by the way, multiple rinses with a higher speed spin not only uses less water, but more effectively removes the dirt and detergent residue than a single deep rinse. This was demonstrated in at least one comprehensive industry test, and is why they found front loaders to clean better - period.
@@dregenius Well, That's why they tell you to use MORE detergent in a standard top loader. Boom! That's that. You bring the fact that FLs clean better into everything, you mad bro? lol.

If you lift the lid slightly before the lid lock activates, you can leave the lid open. during the wash. not safe but doable.
How do you bypass the lid lock without harming your warranty?
That is impossible
You can take the lid hook on the lid and place it into the lock after unscrewing.

In the rinse cycle, the clothes do not seem to get submerged. Correct me on this: The tub uses LESS WATER when you use AUTO.
If you don’t select the fabric softener option (aka a deep rinse) it just does a spot rinse
I've tried lots of settings and there does not appear to be any setting that gives you a decent amount of water
