- MISSOURI ROUTE 66 Every town along Route 66 from St Louis to Joplin, and lots of old relics, too (except I skipped Laquey and maybe a few smaller stops along the way)
Plan your trip and take a drive with me from St Louis to Joplin, Missouri. I will take you to each town, show you the OLD ROUTE 66, and lots of historic buildings, artifacts and abandoned places no longer here. Places like the Chain of Rocks Bridge, Devil's Elbow, Uranus, lots of bridges, Carthage, Springfield, Joplin and lots more. It is a bit long, but I tried to make it as short as possible.

Thank you for stopping by Rolla. Went to school there where it was the University Missouri at Rolla. Often overlooked by the Route 66 YTers. A superb detailed guide of what to look for that others miss. You earned a new subscriber. And thanks for including details of Springfield. My dad worked for Peter Kewitt as an office manager when I was a 3rd grader. This company replaced Route 66 with Interstate 44. We lived in Republic and he brought us to a couple of cafes on 66 that would be demolished to make way for 44. Got to see some of 44 being cleared and paved. Quite an experience. Even got to see the dynamiting of a huge boulder blocking a rock crusher. This began my interest in Route 66. Nat King Cole didn't hurt either.
It was a nice tour. Looks like it might be a good place to go to school and live on campus or apartment.
I have lived up n down route 66 most of my life in the small towns you came through . 👍. The good Ole Wagon Wheel , You could still get a room for the night formless than 20 bucks ! And that was 20 yrs ago. Time capsule with black n white television 📺 👍

this is a great trip, but it takes a lot of time to do it right. 10 days minimum through Missouri alone.
Yall came through home for me. I live in Cedar Hill, MO. Its about 9 miles off Interstate 44, off of MO Highway 30. Unfortunate they tore down the Gardenway Motel about 9 months ago.

That building that says Joplin public library isn't the library anymore it was moved to a new location in 2017 I don't know why they didn't take the sign down
