Grow Chaparral Yucca / Our Lord's Candle from Seeds with Results (Hesperoyucca whipplei), SoCal
I harvested some seeds from our local Chaparral Yucca / Our Lord's Candle, Hesperoyucca whipplei. Soaked them in warm water for 24 hours, planted them, and we have a germinating new plant in 8 weeks.
Note: I accidentally call him a Hesperaloe whipplei - oops.

Thanks for the info - very helpful!
Great video ❤
Thanks for watching and your kind remarks.
Where is the stop location by sahara hotel?
Did anyone else think he was going to end the video with throwing it away and saying that was the fix? 😂
Great video, clear and straight foward
hey, thanks.
Good video... But nope.. even all the banging around didn't work with mine.
In Australia we call it the "Pepperina Tree".
Worked for me, thank you 🙏🏼
70 years old, I drink about 10 cups of coffee a day. So, yeah, I'm dribbling coffee, too!
I love bumblebees. Every summer during my childhood, we’d spend two months at grandma’s summer house where lots of bumblebees were everywhere. They are cute. My childhood bumblebees were fat, furry little things, and I loved watching them. Great post! Thank you!
Enjoyed your video (although your pronunciation of cleddau is a bit ropey :P). Learnt some stuff about the history of the town.
Oh, I think it is French or something. Did the best I could. This place is a terrific site to visit and walk around if you ever get the opportunity. Thanks for watching.
@@battlefoxx I'm Saesneg (English). It took me a while to get the Cymraeg alternative of pronouncing things.
It's subtle but somewhere between 'Cled-thi' or 'Cled-thy' would be closer in English.
But about the Egyptian goose, do you call the babys goslings or ducklings?
It worked, thank you for sharing
yay
Will this plant make soap?
you better redo this bruh. i watched the whole video just for you to not do campsite 51 even though you put in the title and said you would. Dislike.
Thanks for the feedback, sorry for the misleading title. I had some battery problems. I renamed the video. But, I hope you get the idea of the various campgrounds. Have fun.
I’m crying laughing your video stopped right at the campsite I’m getting lol site 53 😂 hope it’s a good one
@@IGGYPUDKINS oh no! Sorry, but I hope you get the idea
I found a couple in my uncles backyard in san diego, but they were dead, and idk where to find live ones, so if anyone knows, please share
Edit: the ones i found were actually dead, and brittle to the touch
@@ronansean5377 i find mine just waliking around, if you search I think the spots are decaying logs and limbs of fallen trees.
Can you possibly pan the camera any faster? That's ok, no one really wanted to see anything, anyway!
oh no. was it really that fast. some sights my brother is driving and he gets frustrated with my rambling.
Nice! Great information given about the bridge - Was just there myself about 3 weeks ago. An amazing sight!
This is a terrific bridge. Most of the really old ones were taken down or blocked off so you can only walk on the or drive around. This Pryor guy is really special. Thanks for watching.
cool man i wish i could give it 2 thumbs up!
Hey, thanks.!
LOL, good idea.
thanks, beat it first, then try the other methods which take more time.
4 like.very nice sharing.
thanks for watching.
Nice Video thanx from germany 😊
thanks for watching.
Sometimes coffee grinds will build up causing the lid to not fully close, thus a slow brew or sputter to zero coffee. Shaking the Keurig helps, however, I recommend cleaning the interior area under the pod holder area is ideal.
Thanks. I tried all the cleaning and pumping and other stuff. It works sometimes, but just reverts back. For me, the beating was the easiest solution.
Please be careful not to use on sides of neck or base of skull. Someone used it improperly on me and it caused a partial detached retinal!
good idea. I am selling this on eBay anyway, I don't really think they are all that great.
This is something that reminds me of red dead redemption
Descendant
Hey, cool.
They come in several varieties - yours has an oval sort of fruit while the ones we had when I was a boy were more flattened and of much greater diameter. They were also much darker red. None-the-less, they were wonderful to eat. The thorny stems made a great isolation hedge, but unfortunately the entire plant was very flamible in the dry season.
I love Trona the way it is. Nice town to live 🌞 in. Nice friendly people. Big advantage to live in Trona. What is there to do? That depends on what you like to do.
I LOVE those bugs. Slow, dumb, uncoordinated, harmless, and beautiful.❤ Just make sure it's not a bumblebee when you're snatching it out of the air.😮👍🏼
crunchy, too.
I have one of those Denver mint filled in D coins too
just a scam on other video sites. thought it was a bit of a super scam parody. Yours is worth about 25 cents.
Anyone else pronounce their name like the month June-co?
Thanks for this. I’ve had my Keurig for maybe 6 or 7 years and it’s been purging water off and on like this for at least a year.
These Keurigs seem to fall apart.
Since, my 9 yr Keurig 2.0 doesn’t have a descale feature, I’ve always added the vinegar, let it sit, drew out a cup, let it sit, again, and then ran water through it. So far, so good. Your video is a good reminder for people to get that vinegar working.
My wife put vinegar in the reservoir to descale it, but I made my coffee instead. Tasted quite strange.
I love snails🐌
I’m planting these in my front yard. Based on the flower color and blooming times, I’m guessing they are pollinated by moths. Total guess.
These are night flowers so fertilized by moths and bats. They close up on sunny days, but they should be open on overcast days. Easy to grow like a roadside weed. Don't let Fido and the kids eat it.
Beautiful
they are all over the place in the hot, dry areas of Arizona...both as ornamental and wild ones that got away.
🐢🪞🌍
Worked there for a year or so at the USBP station in 1991 thru 92 . The biggest thing there was the bowling alley the bar inside there, Kmart and the movie theater and also sizzlers.
not much there any more. maybe it might get a re-boom some day as people cannot afford to live in LA any more.
Can the peppercorns be planted to grow one? Its too hot right now in AZ but i live this tree.
I think so, but I think the seed germination rate is really low. We have a ton of these always popping up in my yard from the neighboring Peppertrees. Not all of the seeds (I believe) have been pollinated thoroughly in order to be viable.
I'm related 17 ways...how does that work with only 50 or so survivors?
Lots of inbreeding with cousins and grandchildren. With only 50 survivors (few of them even fertile women), it is probably super common to be related to a lot of them. I guess if you work out the math.
@@battlefoxx That's what I figured. From only 400 years, there are literally millions of us, of all races now.
You skipped over the most interesting part of the trip in St. James, MO. You should have driven through old part of town with Rte. 66 and train tracks. A lot of history in that town with winery and other buildings.
hmmm...did I miss this. I tried to stay on the original 1926 road and not the realignments. Are the tracks on the original road?
Smacking and duck tape always work
maybe a sledgehammer, too.
Thanks for the useful information!
cool, thanks for watching.
I just saw my first Chinese flame tree. Can they grow in Zone 10b
Hi, I live is SoCal Zone 10b, canyon areas. So, what you see in the video is what you get. Thanks for watching.
Very informative video on this plant. Thanks for sharing it!
