Thank you so much for your efforts to get good videos of these beautiful, amazing hawks doing their thing with building a nest and raising a family... and thank you for Caring and Loving our wonderful hawks and not being prejudiced against them as so many people are!! They are unique in that they do form communities of several adults all helping to raise the new chicks insuring a higher success rate than just the 2 original parents alone. In areas of severe desert where decent perches are far and few between they will often perch on top of one another. To my knowledge no other hawk does this.

sorry of course I can spell Harris, I just get lazy. I love that species and through captive breeding, they are seen now and again in Cali. I hope they stay and I hear they are adapting to Pheonix and Tucson. Funny story, I am retired LAPD and years back, I was driving around a suburb snapping photos of Harris's all over the place and someone called the cops. It worked out fine, and we got a good laugh out of it. Steve

I am a calif falconer, and I have worked with captive bred Haris's for years. We dont have wild ones here so I sometimes drive to Arizona just to watch them. Is there a Colony or just the 2? I envy you. Steve

Must be the season again. We have been seeing a pair circle our house way up in the air. At first we were not sure what kind of bird they were. Then one attack our dog in our backyard. She had a 5 inch long gash in her back and puncture wounds on her chest and stomach. A couple of weeks later I went out in the yard and there one was in a tree about 25 ft from me. So I got a good look at it.
