My friend you have hit the nail on the proverbial head. The Case Sodbuster has been a part of American Culture since the early 1900s. Whether in the pockets of the Frontiersmen, or on the belts of Farmers, the Sodbuster has been up to the task each and every day! Keep up the excellent work...your approach to knife collecting is both Unique and Informative!
The full size sodbuster is my favorite. I carried one every day until I lost it, and then I went out and replaced it with another full size sodbuster. And then I found the first one so now I have two.
The sodbuster is a great work knife with roots going back to the 5100-1600's Eastern Europe. In Germany the pattern is made in great numbers by F. Herder company and Kissing Krane company. When I was stationed in West Germany in the early 1970's, this pattern by Friedrich Herder was in the hands of most of the Germany workers we hired to augment our Army Engineers on construction projects on or around post. In Eastern Europe it was referred to as the pocket butcher knife and grew to a general workers knife. I had an old yellow Case sodbuster that was used hard for over 20 years before it was worn out. My only criticism is, it needs a lanyard hole working around water or boats.
Unfortunately my Sodbuster JR has a blade that is not lined up and the sides are not even tight. Was a gift so I won't exchange it. Half tempted to bang on it so see if it tightens up. Use it everyday.
What is your experience with the Case Sod Buster?
Let us know
I'm going to have to find one now.😊
@@IsaacBurkman They're a great knife 👍🏻

I bought a sod buster jr yesterday morning. I really like it. The only one they had was the display but it was behind glass so it hadn't been handled.
@@Brett235 cool, which version did you get?
@NewAgainKnifeReviews the version with the black scales. Thanks to you I'm going to have to get the full size...lol

@@madtownangler is it Bone or synthetic?
I've tightened a bone one before that was like that
The older stainless has black scales and the newer carbon steel knife has dull red scales.
Very nice….I have always thought that the sodbuster has a superior blade shape over the buck 110 for skinning critters.
