Yeah brother I liked them so much I bought both the black and the sandalwood!!! They are unbelievable but the pull is a little light but still a stud of a knife!!!!! Have a fantastic weekend Andrew 😊
Great-looking (except filler) Overall Farm Creek. Off-center or bad/bent tip/grind ? I have not picked one of these up yet ... prob the trapper first. I do like the thicker scales for this "work" knife (plus we were just tougher back in the 60's/70's). I will agree the extra $10 is worth it for the liners, screws, and S35VN on the Case Crossroads if one can live with a smaller handle. If that RCB bothers you so ... send to Splitting Slices as a gift. Good compare/contrast vid. Thanks BBTT.
It kind if does look like wood filler. Though maybe glue? I dont want to pick at it incase it falls out😂 thank you so much Byron for checking it out. I will think of you first if i just cannot handle this amazing soddy.... I mean farm hand any more.😁
I appreciated the comparison👍 Regarding the RCB version, I preordered both as soon as I heard about them. Both arrived in excellent shape, great fit & finish, centered and SHARP. Sorry to hear that you had a little problem with yours. I’ve been fortunate that pretty much all of my RCB knives have turned out great. If only I could say that about my newer Case knives, but I still have hopes for them for the future….
Good looking knife! I don’t put much stock in the paper cutting test. I’ve had very mixed results. So many variables such as paper composition and thickness; angle of attack of the knife edge when it meets the paper; velocity of attack, etc. I rely on touching my thumb to a fresh honed edge and sensing that sticky feeling that says press any harder mister you’re gonna bleed!
That’s interesting. Me I’d pick the case but that’s my favorite knife lol. I like Rosecraft. I’ll probably get one, one of these days. I’ll wait for their second sale 😂.
Thats a great idea Dewayne! I also prefer Case. But had to try this one cause i got it at a discount. Good knife but just doesnt give me the fizz like a case. They do come sharp though!
I’ve found that some paper like that has a weird grain. I used paper like that for a cut test on a sharp knife and it liked to tear. I pulled out phone book paper and it just laser beamed right through it clean. Crazy. Must be the grain. I’m a half stop guy. I have no reason for that, just maybe the sound and action idk. Strange that it does look like wood filler on the covers of that RoseCraft. I’d have to get a RoseCraft in hand but I think I like the S35VN Soddy jr a tad better. Good video bud
Sorry about the blade centering mate, in Australia RoseCraftBlades are $100-$145aud, I've got 14 sitting right infront of me in their slips in my wooden slipjoint box, & every single one of them has perfect fit & finish, perfect blade centering, damn near perfect every thing I gave em a quick little touch up hone & every single one of them are lazer beams, everything from the Obed creek to the Nolichucky, to the Senator, to the Otter Barlow to the Sowbelly every one of them is perfect, so I'm hoping that your issues are a sign of things to come, 14 RCB perfect right out of the box, one case knife (yello delrin stockman) nothing but problems, I'm not ragging on Case, but in my world its RCB 14 blades that are perfect, one Case knife & is nothing but issues, problems & the gaps between the liners & the back spring you could park a truck in. Don't get me wrong, I've always loved Case but at $250 with heaps of issues, or a RCB for $110-145aud with ZERO issues, I mean none not a single one, Great job mate :0) Take care.
I got one of these Rosecrafts and like it better than the Case. There is something about the Sodbuster that I do not like, rather a bunch of little things. The RC is better in hand and has an actual usable point. Mine was perfectly centered. Sometimes they come out of the box off center but once you open and close it a dozen times it fixes itself. I have has 2 like that.
Very cool Ken! Its a great knife. And i agree the soddy is not my favorite pattern but still a great one. Thank you for checking it out. Looking forward to more of your videos. Hope you are doing well brother!👊💥
Sure, keep rubbing the Rosecraft in my face.😂 I almost cried when I got the email that they won’t deliver here anymore. At least I can live through you Andrew.😂
I 100% agree. This goes to show that all manufacturers have some problems. But this is a first or excuse me a second to me. My trapper also had an off-center blade. This is very concerning.
@@BaxtersBlades I been hoping that as they get bigger and bigger the quality doesn't suffer. I'm sure they will exchange it though. But it's a hassle to have to do all that
Yeah brother I liked them so much I bought both the black and the sandalwood!!! They are unbelievable but the pull is a little light but still a stud of a knife!!!!! Have a fantastic weekend Andrew 😊
They are very cool Pete! The pull doesnt bother me so much it is well built. A great working knife for sure! Thank you brother!👊💥
Awesome knives.😊💙💚🧡💛💜❤️👍👍😎
Thank you Issac!
Sweet looking knives. You have a wonderful weekend Andrew.
Thank you Jeff! You also have a good weekend!
@BaxtersBlades you're welcome! Will do
Excellent comparison. I like the blade shape on the RC. Thanks for sharing?
Thank you so much Mo! The blade is very well executed for sure. Its got the 60s blocky feel also.😂
Sure is nice looking! I like the checker pattern.👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
It is well executed by Andy for sure. Glad I have this one to beat up at work.😂 Thank you Radar!
I think that's a great modern take on a classic Sodbuster, RCB makes nice stuff. 👍Thanks for sharing, take care my friend and Cheers!
Thanks for checking it out and I agree, love the classic styling of this knife.
Nice comparison Andrew. I'm really diggin the RC myself!
Very cool David! They make great knives!
It’s very nice looking. I like the checkered design on the handles. Great comparison of sod buster knives Andrew. 👊👍🔪
Its a cool one Chris! Thank you!

I have been also. Until these 2 the trapper and soddy. The soddy will probably center it self. Thank you Mike. Atleast they come sharp.
Nice knife like the checkering nice blade shape.
Thank you Joe! Worth checking out.
Yes sir, that one looks like a good knife and I really like the sod buster
Its a pretty cool one Rusty! Thanks for watching!

I like the case crossroads the best. Although the wood checkering on the Rosecraft is very classy! You're right too... It does look like snake skin 🐍😂
Thanks, Andrew!! I am a Rosecraft fan boy!! and i love Soddy Jr!! But, will pass on these!!! Got a new Rosecrft Blade on its way!! 🙏👍💯🔥🗡️
Why are you passing on this one Big Jim? Thanks for watching!

I am so sorry David! My deepest condolences to you.😢
That's not usual RC quality but no one is perfect
