Lyrics
So you finally came right out and said it girl
What took you so long
It was in your eyes, that look's been there for too long
I'm waiting in line
Would you say if I was wasting my time
Or did I miss again
I think I missed again oh
I think about it from time to time
When I'm lonely and on my own
I try to forget and yet, still rush to the telephone
I'm waiting in line
Would you say if I was wasting my time
Or did I miss again
I think I missed again oh
Or did I miss again
I think I missed again oh
Well it feels like something you want so bad
Then you think you've got it, but it's something you already had
You can feel it all around you, but it's something you just can't touch
And I feel it coming at me
I can feel it coming at me
Or did I miss again
I think I missed again oh
Or did I miss again
I think I missed again
I'm waiting in line, but would you say if I was wasting my time
Or did I miss again...

Phil didn’t miss with any song he’s class
Probably one of the best Phil Collins songs in my opinion. Everything about is so good!!
true but he should've probably created a story for the video
Indeed
Thanks Dear Phill, from Perú. You are special person. Thanks for all.
Everything Phil Collins touched in the 80's was pure gold.
Platinum
@@Nightwolf42195 was it
He didn't do too bad in the 90s either.
Also squeezed in a TV appearance or 2 in Miami Vice as well as a complete film playing the notorious PO train robber Buster Edwards.
And we haven't even mentioned his stuff with Genesis.
@@neilburns8869 not to mention working for disney
Even his own rear end
A very underrated song with one of the best horn sections. Love it.
the funk was strong with Mr. Collins on this song
"No reply at all" is even better with the horns
Horns sound so good because it's the horn section from Earrh, Wind and Fire. Phil hired them several times for his recordings. Smart move on his part.
@@grelley2067 so earth wind and fire were behinde the horns section . now i get it
earth wind fire were sheer class
alot of collaborations around at that time
nile rodger from chic also had a direct hand in many number 1 success for tons of artists
I still remember the first time I ever heard this song. It was around midnight with my parents and siblings in the car back in 1982. We were on our way back from a wedding. I was sleeping, but the sweet laid back sounds of that song woke me up. I just wanted to listen to it over and over again for the next year. Man, I wish those simple times could come back.
super les annees 80 SUPER SUPZER SUPER
Thank you for sharing that memory, its lovely!
Those were the days my friend, I thought they'd never end, we'd sing and dance forever and a day.
Yes!
Gen Xer here... Were you riding in a station wagon? Either blue, or with the wood paneled sides? Just curious... 🖖😏
Phil Collins was a force in the 80s
Phil actually played piano, synth, drums and vocals on this track...talent dude!
that takes some time
I wanna wish a Happy early 73rd Birthday 🥳 to Phillip David Charles Collins!!!!Phil Collins Missed Again!!!

1980 to 1990...what an awesome decade..
I was 10 in 1980..and wow..is all i can say...what a time to be alive
a 100 percent i was 9 in 1980 where the hell has all that time gone
music wise late seventies early eightes was increadible .unrivalled
i was born in january '1970 brother,80's greatest time to live greenest years the movies the music the cars, the clothing lines, the goddamn hairstyles...everything, nobody will really get it if they didnt live that as youngster, sorry kids
U don't mess with the Collins!
The greatest artist of all times
Watching this silly inexpensive video, whilst loving this song, I came to fully realize that because of his lack of ionic 80's imagery, ala Madona, Michael ,Cindi even Prince, Phil Collins is all to often overlooked as a sheer powerhouse of that time period. Hit after hit after hit.Unstoppable solo or with Genisis. The man deserves and gets super props from me. He holds a similar chart history to Lionel Richie in that respect. Talent goes beyond eye candy. LEGEND!!!
I totally agree!
No need to explain what’s understood!!!
One thing I dont think people taking into account is people that have died. I was not even born and just a sparkle in my mom and dads eyes but I love Phil and Genesis. Some of the people who were in their teens and 20s may have been living for the moment and died throughout this time. Its really hard to gauge the true impact and it hurts when the youtube numbers do not reflect but man Phil and Genesis really put in work. I did not really grasp it until my younger years working at Freds and walmart but it made you respect these songs that now I cannot live without. Thanks for everything is all I can say.
I'm picking up what you're putting down there player. Glad you mentioned Lionel Richie in your comment.

"Party, karamu, fiesta Forever"
One of Phil’s greatest.
LEGEND
Turn it up love this song
One word describes this... BRILLIANT!! ❤️
Phil has soul. I love it when he did R&B like this song.
yep you know that
Phil is an absolute legendary singer. Love his solo and Genesis music.
RememberToday4ever why is Richard Hammond so butt hurt about Phil?
Me to n Mike Rutherford the guy in Genesis who plays base n For Mike and the Mechanics
He's also a drummer. First and farmost
And drummer, and songwriter, and producer. He produced Frida's 'I Know There's Something Going On' "
Me too
When I hear this song I feel completely mesmerized. Very Powerful. Nothing like this today.
Never, EVER got tired of those horns on that track. No other song like it.
Earth Wind & Fire horn section.

They all played on Phil's 1985 tour too.

I love this song, reminds me of the good, finest early years of the 1980's when I was a kid!
Me three! :)
Amen. Gives me goosebumps
Happy birthday 🎈🎂 Phil Collins Jan 30 , 2022 .
So his drumming in genesis is thru the roof, his voice has such a cool tone AND he writes poppy, fun songs effortlessly. Plus, even with his bad hand, he sent me an autograph. And I've seen all the biggies from that era, the who, Bowie, ramones, clash, stones...
Genesis we're FLAWLESS! Top band all the way around
I absolutely love the high pitch backing vocal from Phil, it has such an impact on the song!
phil collins has a great voice
Ladies and Gentlemen, The Phil Collinses Playing Air Band!
Classic blue eyed soul
Yeah it is, not the trash today
Agreed! This song has a lot of soul music elements and they come through immediately when he starts singing.
what a character ..........brilliant vids
I pray for your health ,we are getting old. Im 60 now and i feel pain too to my knees . I love all your songs
Ahh, the 1980's. Back when rock stars looked like friend's of my dad's.
Good times...
😅😅😅
Basically a time before cosmetic surgery became a thing and you didn’t have to look all fake and didn’t have to be clone to be on trend etc
Thats funny
Talent comes in all colours, sexes, ages, shapes and sizes ....and he’s enormously talented, smart, funny, humble and cute. He looks happy to be enjoys his craft!
:D So true and you are a GENIUS! much luv from Milano
Love the horns in this song !!
I love this song!
One of my favourites from Collins!
Phil Collins is awesome and I have enjoyed his music for decades!
K'ani Badua yeah me too
Totally agreed at 100% that he's awesome. I have enjoyed his music since I grew up with his songs in the Disney movie Tarzan and listened more to him as Genesis's frontman and soloartist. :)
Dude Phil Collins is the man. I really like the face value album, classic record for sure
Loved it
Me too... Live every song on that album... Oh yes, I said it album 😂🎼🎵❤
Phil Collins had to go to the us to become famous as not a single British music journalist rated him at all.

And imagine, it was a debute, without any experience as solist. One of the first white singers to put trumpets into his songs, breaking the barriers between black and white singers' style. The albums to come(1982-1996) were even better!
wow i love this
I heard this when I was out shopping and remembered how I used to love the bridge beginning at @1:40. I love when stores play good music. I was singing and giving that store all of my money 🤣Man, this took me back.
Man, this guy is timeless in his era of music… This dude definitely was a badboy in the 80’s that did not care what nobody felt… He did it his way and that’s what separates him from the rest…👍🏾
Genius! Genius! Genius!
I Love Phil Collins!
I Love this video!
Notice how he prepares his lips for the solo at 2:32, a true professional.
Great song! I went to his concert in Perú last Tuesday and I cannot describe the feeling of being part of that magical night. I’m 22 years old and in the concert there were many young people too. I feel so happy that Phil Collins can touch people’s hearts with his music. That is the magic about him, he can gather people from many countries and ages.
that was one of my favorite memories from seeing Phil at BST in June 2017- the dad in his 50-60's in front of me going nuts to Sussudio with his wife and adult son.
I love this one. Collins loves his horns man.
I just absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE The greatest artist of all time Phil Collins
Phil is a great singer. Love all his music.
Phil Collins has a very iconic voice.
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful, beautiful, beautiful ...
Love his voice. Always have.
The Best of music
Phil never misses!!
This is my favorite Phil Collins song. I remember this was in an NBA commercial in the late 80s early 90s.
Another banger. Sad to think I only recently discovered this song. At work of all places. Collins was and is an absolute legend
This song gets me... Everytime☺
Great horns ...... one of his best.

The irony is that the drumer, Phil Collins had voice 10 times better than the one of Peter Gabriel, although Peter was good too.
Phil Collins is not only one of the best drummers of all time, he is also one of the best singers ever seen, his opportunity came after Peter Gabriel's departure from the mythical band Genesis where Phil was thedrummer. big phill
Honestly I like character of his voice
Add to that he ain’t bad at air instruments either 🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼😉
"he is also one of the best singers ever seen" LMAO
Perhaps you should open your eyes (and ears). PC is an adequate vocalist, but that's it. I'd bet that even _he_ would say so.

@@chrisbennett6260 Remember it was 1981 and music videos were a still NEW thing and not overproduced, super slick and calculated. I actually love how genuine and down to earth these early videos were showing that the musicians were real people
