    Great! Another episode of this series. I now have something to watch on TV tonight instead of looking for a series on streaming. :)

      Lol, yeah I didn't know how to transition that so I just ripped it off. Fundraised $6100 towards cancer research though! Thanks, enjoy the series!

    Always informative here on your channel!
    Wish you all the success you deserve for the hard work you put into teaching.
    I do have a curious question…. Is there any particular reason you didn’t not choose the 48” playfield build for this one?
    Thank you in advance.

    • @wayofthewrench
      @wayofthewrench  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I chose the 42" as it is a big budget build for people with money but not wanting/able to machine and mods/build from scratch. I believe a 48" would require some custom routering to fit it in. Plus there would be no room for LEDs too. I will most likely upgrade my budget vpin with a LG c series OLED in the future though as that cabinet will have room for it to drop in. Thanks for the watch and your kind words. Cheers!

    I did not see in the video, how were you able to secure the plexyglass

    • @wayofthewrench
      @wayofthewrench  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The plexiglass goes into a 1/8" groove that is machined into the sides of the backbox from the flatpack kit. You just have to flex it and pop it in.

    For the DMD monitor, did you consider the standalone 15.6 HDMI "portable" monitors? They're relatively inexpensive, have a thin bezel, ISP panel, HDMI-plug-in (no extra control boards needed). From the looks of the backbox you have, it would slip right into the DMD cutout and save a lot of trouble without the extra boards to buy (correctly matched), mount, and connect. I bought one last year during black friday on Amazon for $80, but they're a little more now.
    I'd intended to stock up and build along with you on the current one - despite the huge wide-body cabinet not fitting anywhere but my basement. Some minor surgery has left me one-handed for a few months, so I'll have to put that off a little while. Still following your build with great anticipation.
    I've been following your vpin videos for a while and I'm glad to see you're going to put mechanical toys in this one. I'm curious to see how effective the starter solenoids will be. I found them a little weak, but the open-frame solenoids I selected for my 32" 4K build last year, while louder with a stronger mechanical snap, don't do well, long-term, with the heavy action. The ones I'm using now were really not meant for such things. Perhaps you'll be able to try a few different types.

    • @wayofthewrench
      @wayofthewrench  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes I research the hell out of those portable monitors; however, they all don't fit in the provided cutout in the flatpack kit. You could router it out more but I was trying to use parts that anyone could just bolt in and no woodworking needed.
      I put in mechanical toys (shaker and gear motor) in my budget build but yes I'm putting solenoids in this build too. The ones I am using are a new design that has been designed/tested for over a million cycles and comes with a solenoid life extender. The details are in my parts video.
      I'm sorry to hear about your hand, hopefully you get better soon so you can finish your build. Thanks for the watch and your support for the channel! Cheers!

    Awesome video as usual! I hate to ask this, but hoping someone sees and can give advice.
    I have 2 x TB21 Amps with the 4 x DAEX58FP, then I use a pc Logitech system for my backbox sound.
    My question is… if I only have 1 BST-1 is it possible to run a set of wires from my BST-1 to each of my TB21 amps so it’ll fire on both channels?
    I do not have any audio or power knowledge so need to rely on others with experience… hoping I can use my 2 amps + 4 exciters + 1 bass shaker instead of 2 for SSF and my Logitech for the backbox audio.
    Thanks again for an awesome video. This helped with my backbox!

    • @wayofthewrench
      @wayofthewrench  8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Thanks! We'll base shakers are mono sound inputs usually but if you're asking to drive both rear and front I guess they will be powered off only one amp. You could hook it up to both of the amos but I'm not sure about if both amps want to drive at the same time during transition.....that might blow your equipment. Hopefully someone can chime in here with their experience. Thanks for the watch. Cheers!

      @Welks767 8 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@wayofthewrenchthank you as always! I will stop asking these questions and have since ordered another BST-1 for the full SSF.
      I’ll be following with your big budget build except for the Cleveland products (no shaker motors, etc).
      My daughter will be helping me and we look forward to the series. Thank you!

Im just a basic computer guy and could handle the build but would fall flat on my face with the game stuff. will you be doing a turn on and programing in your videos. i would hate to spend all that money and put it in the corner of my garage. Emile, you da man!
    I'm torn on screen size. I want to basically clone this build, BUT... mid-budget and adding toys/components over time.
    I kind of like the idea of a 48" playfield even though I know 42" is more realistic/true/accurate to most tables...
    I have no idea how hard it would be for ME to come up with a hybrid between your first build and this one. =D
    Not even sure if there is a flatpack available for a 48"...
    LG B4 48" OLED is on sale at Best Buy in the US right now for $599 (normally $799) and includes a $50 gift card. I don' think there is a 42" B4 model.
    It's not as bright as the C4 in terms of peak brightness and ONLY does 120hz refresh (lol) as opposed to 144hz on the C4. I normally turn brightness way down on all my displays, so I'm not worried about that.
    That's a cheap OLED right there. I paid $500 for my LG CX 48" that's in my arcade, and that was USED, two years ago.
    Do you think you'll prefer the 42" playfield or the 48" size?
    Can you think of any cons to 48" based on what you're planning for this MEGA build??
    You're incredible!
    FYI my teenager walked into the room while I was watching your last video and within 5 seconds he said "That looks like a great guy right there! He's an amazing guy!". I said, "He sure is!!!!"

    • @wayofthewrench
      @wayofthewrench  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you for your kind words, I really appreciate it. You won't notice a difference between 120 Hz and 144 Hz so don't have fomo over not getting a way more expensive c4. That's why I went with a c3, it was literally $500 less. As far as I know no one has an ultra wide body flatpack kit. My budget build cabinet will fit a 48" lg c3 OLED though, plans are free and in the video description. If you are wanting Aled playfield side strips, I would just go with a 42" like I am and then you could use a flat pack. I'm not sure about the b series but there are a lot of people getting the c series and raving about the look. Hope that helps. You should build a vpin cabinet with your kid! Thanks for the watch and good luck with your build!
