Warning to all aspiring artists: do NOT skip this exercise! This is my 2nd try on Stan's courses (I was kinda impatient the first time) and in a few days I've noticed my lines have become more purposeful and meaningful. Thanks, Stan! You're the man!
Thanks Sycra :) Means a lot coming from you!
Where can I find that animated 3D robo bean?!
@@toxicmelody6228 I want to know too
Damn... Drawing this robo-bastard correctly is really much more difficult than it seems...
Rafał Szczechowski I find it easier in some ways than the bean. Because of the twisting.
I agree - it's a fantastic idea but when u r confronted with a live model in a class, it's like....WTF? Even so, it's a great idea and worth practicing.
I actually find it easier than drawing the bean.
The key with this style, I think is to be loose with it like it's your template to your real drawing.
I can relate.... SO MUCH!!!!
lol, holy crap man, you keep making better and better videos! I loved this one!!

ya, a drapery and clothing series is on the list. Not sure when though
It's a Proko original. Lean Alvesan (awesome zbrush sculptor) joined my team recently and we're working on adding muscles to this skeleton for the upcoming anatomy series!
You explain in 11min what a book explain in 2** pages, thank you for this amazing video.
Mathieu Vaillancourt Thank you for watching! Glad to hear it was helpful :)
@@ProkoTV 👍 *!!!!!!!!*
@@ProkoTV I am from Brasil 🇧🇷 !!!!!!
@@ProkoTV Clear and enlightening. thank you Proko for your dedication.
Yup that's coming in about 2 weeks! Some people call it Mannequinization. Basically adding neck, head, arms and legs to the robo bean. Could you specify what you have trouble with when you try to add the limbs? I'll try to cover it in the video.
In fact everyone.. Let me know what you struggle with most when you mannequinize the figure (simplifying it into spheres, cubes, cylinders)
👍
You can still post your work on Proko.com. I try to answer there when I have time you just need to post them under the assignments tab.
Thank you so much Proko! My figure drawing skills have greatly improved because of your videos. I'm taking life drawing at school, and I'm very grateful to have this knowledge of figure drawing already, when we haven't even started a single lesson on it yet. God bless you!
@Proko, Wow!, with videos like these who needs art school.
Proko is a cool dude, he' really has a good sense of humor when it comes to this along with knowlege of realisim based on organic drawing that works.

Thank you very much! I love your methods.
Sir: your genius as an artist is only surmounted by you teaching techniques. Bravo. R

Thank you for the wonderful lesson's, they help remind me of all the tips & tricks to being an artist. You are pretty silly to which helps keep me entertained while I learn, keep them coming thanks again.
Your videos are great, and your teaching style is very clear and effective. They are teaching me like everything I want to know, and I'm curious about your animations, do you create everything yourself? The toy sequence was awesome and I re-watched it a few times
That "click the button" at the end just freak me up.... but your techniques really help me to improve. realy good job man...
I tr s amazing how easy everything gets with simples cubes, cylinders and spheres.
Congratulations proko, great video!
Can't wait for foreshortening. I hope when you get to it, you go into a little more details than others. Hopefully utilizing other forms of perspective than the basic 1,2, and 3 point (4 and 5 point) and drawing the figure in them
Great work as always thanks
I have a really hard time visualizing the position of the rib cage "box" when it's in extreme positions/angles
These videos are very helpful
I love this ! So helpful ! Thank you very much for making awesome videos ^o^
i find this is the most helpful tutorial!! thank you so much!!!
Wow! super helpful! :D Thank you for the hard work making the video. it is invaluable :)
I like these videos & the part about the overlap was helpful.
I have many drawing teacher on internet, proko is best teacher to me!!!
your teaching is best!
♦️ I've been watching all your videos again and again for 3 years now. The first 2 and a half years (I was not that focused on learning fast and serious).
Now for the other half I finally had the determination to study everything (I'm applying for an animation degree from a scholarship with my art portfolio).
Previously I just learned everything in a day. Now I'm focusing on the rib cage and arm bones and muscles for 2 weeks until I finally get it, then I will move on to a different muscle and bone so I can fully focus on learning it.
Actually I compared my work from the past weeks to today and I was surprised at how much I have improved.
Thank you. I still have 3 months for my art portfolio.
Good luck with the degree and portfolio! Thanks for letting us be a part of it.
You are awesome Proko !
Made me chuckle @ 5:30 great info thanks for the vid
These videos are so great and helpful :) you got a subscriber !
I cannot tell you how much I love you and your videos, thanks so much for doing them XD And since you asked on a previous comment: I have problems too with the head, I seem to make it too small or too big compared to the rest of the body when I do gestures. Also, I seem to make the ribcage and pelvis too far away from each other. The 'fun stuff space' is always too big LOL Thanks again, you're such a good teacher XD
Thanks for doing this amazing series Proko.
I have one question, have you ever read the anatomy books of Burne Hogarth?
He explain the same kind of technique with the 2 boxes.
For some reason i always struggled to that phase...
Anyway good video!
really really really good explanations! thank you!! :)
Thanks Proko! I'm using the tools you used to understand the twist and the bean more, which I put two balls in a sock and tied a knot at the top for the base of the head. It actually really helps me visualise the simplified form a lot more plus I can treat it like a life drawing class. I do this with a rag and a black line for the twist like what you used.
I am very glad to discover your channel
Thank you for uploading the video.^^ It was very helpful.
this helped me A LOT
what a delight to find you here good sir...
Awesome. Very helpful

Super helpful!
These videos help me so much❤💚💜💙💛
Thank you so much proko! Your videos have really helped me improve my drawing skills.
Question: for a timed practice like quick gestures, how many minutes for seconds are we meant to do for the robo bean? 30 sec, 1 minute, 45 seconds?
Great video.
Your videos are the best dude
Thank you very much proko......👍👍 your videos are so grate....... 💪
Amazing video!
¡Usted es el rey de reyes!
Thanks for your videos, Proko; they are wonderful.
Just a minor point though; I think the posterior landmark of the hip bone - to define the hip box - could not be PSIS. the connecting line between the ASIS and PSIS has an angle downward, or may be a straight line; I may be wrong though, but this is my observation from 'Albinus on Anatomy"
Cool! It must be a priceless tool for studying human anatomy. Cool animation too. Keep it up, guys! =)
Thank you!
very helpful
Excelente.... Gracias a lot
