Mira isn't OP, she's just really strong. You can't change her without removing what makes her good, she will just have to be a rare pick, only way of decreasing ban % would be buffing other operators or adding a new alternative like operator.
Adding an operator just to counter Mira doesn't sound too efficient. Then that operator would just get banned every time. And then Mira would be banned. And then the game would be in the exact same situation.
For real. Things just come and go in meta. People learn new things and experiment with new ideas and things that work catch on and everyone starts to do it and it becomes "meta" but it will change eventually because other new ideas form as a result of the meta.

It would have to be balanced so that the default is still relevant and advantageous in some situations.

I agree that Mira is well balanced. The only thing I can think of to fairly change her is make it so explosives can burst the canister and drop the glass. If it were (slightly) easier to get rid of her gadget, maybe people could work around her better.

I think the only problem with mira is the presence and the possibility being pre fired but you can just smoke the mira and then thermite it or go below/above to destroy it.
I've been thinking about this for a while, if you are a man down on defense or offense could you give some of the other players more utility like 2 people have an extra reinforcement or an extra drone to try balance balance out that loss of a player? This way if a player leaves a ranked match for any reason their team isn't screwed over. This may be a stupid idea I'm just throwing something out there.
What about a new operator like Recruit for ranked but every gun/gadget you have to buy with renown and you have to buy the operator for 50k renown instead of 25k good or unbalanced?

Operator idea: Defender like thatcher - Has a device that is either throwable or placeable that destroys/ disabled enemy gadgets such as Nomads gadget or stop operators gadgets working such as twitchs drone or claymores. It is nearly impossible to run out on attackers anymore because there is always so many gadgets to counter it.

Let's just make the map three times as big and convulated as hell. If you are lost on the mal than you can't attack fast enough.

I didnt look exactly at the numbers of Mira, but when you add pick rate and ban rate isn't it like 99%. Which means se is a mustpick when available.
What about a defence operator who puts down an ammo box like Rook with his armour? It could give a few more reinforcements too?

I think the only problem with mira is the presence and the possibility being pre fired but you can just smoke the mira and then thermite it or go below/above to destroy it.
I've been thinking about this for a while, if you are a man down on defense or offense could you give some of the other players more utility like 2 people have an extra reinforcement or an extra drone to try balance balance out that loss of a player? This way if a player leaves a ranked match for any reason their team isn't screwed over. This may be a stupid idea I'm just throwing something out there.
How about a defender who has the ability to reinforce half panels. Like ground to halfway up
What about a new operator like Recruit for ranked but every gun/gadget you have to buy with renown and you have to buy the operator for 50k renown instead of 25k good or unbalanced?
Do you think seige should let players pick up other players gadgets and guns when they die. For ex when glaze dies the def or offense can pick up his gun and utility ie (nades or smoke )
Maybe to balance tower they could make it so the outer perimeter of the building can't be accessed by the defense. They would be pinged in the same way they would be if they jumped outside.
Operator idea:
Defender like thatcher
- Has a device that is either throwable or placeable that destroys/ disabled enemy gadgets such as Nomads gadget or stop operators gadgets working such as twitchs drone or claymores. It is nearly impossible to run out on attackers anymore because there is always so many gadgets to counter it.

Do you think attack is at a disadvantage in most of the maps in ranked. I constantly find when I get defence first on outback for example, we tend to go 3-0 up. This for me personally is the case for most maps but it could be far different on pc as I play on console.

Hereford base has a terrible spawnpeeking problem and many terrible objective to defend because there is just too many places to watch defend, too many angles.
So... Let's just make the map three times as big and convulated as hell.
If you are lost on the mal than you can't attack fast enough.
