This is to show you im dedicated to become a viewer love your work, I've been a sub on and off so many times because of that outtro and jump over your vids only for that freaking PTSD shock at the outtro xD just hope the best for ya' I know you dont need me, but your new vid I saw on the updates made me feel compelled :) FOR THE ALGORITHM!
The GW dry brush paints aren't bad. I have several I keep on hand for use. They're much thicker so you don't end up wasting as much paint as you normally would when using standard paint. They also have some that are made for metals which seem to produce a better effect than when just using standard metallic paints for dry brushing.
Dude, as an old school painter returning to the hobby from back on the days when we inked the dry brushed everything. I looked your tutorial up and found that it's just the same as it was back in the days, however I know you can use dry brushing better now when it mixes with modern methods. I can see this is an old tutorial so maybe it needs an update.
I just drybrushed a Stormcast with Sigmarite and it looked like someone antiqued him. (antiquing is when you're hanging out with your friends and one of them falls asleep...you grab a handfull of flour, powder, etc. and chuck it at their face so they wake up and look like theyve collected dust). I didn't even think I was using too much. I def used too much.
I am very new at painting mini's and the thing I am having trouble understanding is; when should I dry brush or highlight? Before or after the wash? I have seen it both ways in the various videos I have found on how to paint mini's. Does this depend on what the final desired effect of the paint is or is it just a personal choice. I only ask because no one has really answered that and through the few mini's I have practiced on I can see and understand where it would be a decision of effect. I just need some help brushing light on this step.
i like how this models are painted. This is layering and highlights right? www.minipainting.se/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/Death-company.jpg www.braintyrefire.com/personal/w40k/Blood-Angels/Blood-Angels-Death-Company-05.jpg
@@Miniac I am unsure whether dry brushing first then edge highlighting would be better/more natural looking or if dry brushing after would be better/more natural looking.
Your video are excellent but a little difficult to understand for non-english people. If you have time and desire : a subtitle (same in english) will be a positive idea ;-)))) Thanks a lot for your advices !!!
I'm a beginner. You've answered absolutely every question I had about dry-brushing. Thanks!
Your intro is my favorite intro in youtube so far. So quiet and chill. definitely love the W3RoC shirt!
Drybrushing is my favourite technique, it should get more popularity.

As a person who collects Drukhari, I want to kiss you right now. Jesus you shortened my time for a single mini from 1 day to around an hour or two.
😘
Wet brushing is a cool tech as well

Yes it does depend on the desired effect, and yes it is personal preference. There are no rules regarding ordering, or anything for that matter.
Thank you!! I will keep this in mind while I continue to practice.
Thank you
that's a quality shirt there
what do you think of moisturing the bristles to decrease a dusty look. saw that on the artis opus drybrush vid.
What are your thoughts on the citadel brushes?
Sturzam The Saiyan Demon not worth the cost
When you run the brush across your thumb to see if your dry brush is good, how do you know how much paint is too much?
you don't want an even coat, barely any paint on the brush.
How can I dry brush if I always lick my brush
Yes WC3!
Can you use dry brushing instead of layering? For regions with lots of details?
I also own that t-shirt, because I too am a bad ass.
I paint my marines on black, should I use layering or drybrush?
It's really up to you! depends the effect you want to achieve and what you're comfortable doing.

+tube9ovejas the first one is most likely a combination of layering and edge highlighting. The second one looks like it could be drybrushing.
Ok bro! Thanks a lot! :D
Should u always go from dark to light?
Should I edge highlight after dry brushing?
do you want to?
