Hi, you sound like you are from my neck of the woods, North Staffs! We are back on Britannia in July for our second time, this will be our 5 th cruise with P&O always had a great time. We always opt for Select fare as we like to choose cabin, dining and take free coach travel as we are getting older it’s much easier for us, but as you say saver fare can be a bargain . X
We went on Britannia back in 2015 and will be going on her again in October this year. Thanks for sharing, it was interesting to note the changes since 2015. We thought the layout was a bit strange too, we much prefer the Iona and Arvia but we are lucky to be on any cruise! Can't wait to watch the rest of your Britannia vlogs x
Hi Gill we've done the Iona and would love to try the Arvia at some point. And yes haha we were confused with the layout abit but got used to it just about lol. Could of done with abit longer on her 😁 A lovely ship though
Enjoyed the start of your next cruise. Kev and Stacey. Great price for 2 people! Some great information too for the folks who are going or thinking about it. Loved the thought process in the start. Board the ship and go straight to the buffet! Hopefully it will improve and the elevators less full. Hate to walk up 9 decks to get to the buffet! Looks like a nice ship and fun time! Thanks for bringing us along.
Hi guys, once again great volg! We’re travelling on the Britannia in September to Norway! Looking forward to the rest of your volgs and your pros and cons of your time spent on the ship. Paul n Sharon
Hey, came on to see what youse two are up to and you’ve got 4 vids on Britannia. I’m so pleased ( how sad am I 😂) as I’m on Britannia in 8 days time. 14 nights up in Scandinavia and the Baltic. So glad your doing a review as the ones I’ve seen have been a bit old. I have a balcony cabin so look forward to watching. Never been with P&O, only MSC and Celebrity. Hope it’s a nice ship as 14 nights is a long one !!!
Oriental is used when you book select. You would have booked saver. Select gives you your room extra money to use on board and other extras. We had saver.

Moral of the story...if people stick to boarding times there shouldn't be long queues in the terminal.
Yes definitely, that's why we said other times we have just been able to board but understand that was a bonus, that can't be expected all the time especially when it's full. People we're complaining they couldn't get on a full ship 3 hours before their embarkation time lol 🙉
Hi , it just shows how big these ships are, we were on this cruise, and I said to my wife , I wonder if there's any youtube bloggers on board , as before the cruise we watched so many to learn the do's and don't , so we are looking forward for your other videos, trying to spot ourselves in the background
We were on this cruise too and it was our 20th with P&O, all in school holidays and we've never experienced an embarkation like it before! It's one of the first times P&O have used this new process of queuing outside the cruise terminal, so that's probably why you heard a bit of moaning.
Hope you had a great time 👍 and the moaning wasn't because they were outside its because they wanted to be on the ship 3 hours before their embarkation time which is a lovely bonus if you can but didn't think it should be expected when the ship is full
@@OneCouplesAdventure We did thank you, hope you did too! Oh absolutely agree, I think the problems definitely come from P&O never sticking to the times in the past, so it upsets people when they do!
Stacey, you have cut your hair! Love the layers, it really suits you. Just over an hour to board? After our 4.5 hour wait during covid, just over an hour would be a breeze. There again we needed covid tests at the terminal and our results got lost, which also meant we had to go queue again for retesting. I was having a right ole moan and then mother nature gave me a bump to reality. A fellow cruiser got out of her car, the P&O employees was taking it to park it up. The lady fell on the floor and literally died. Paramedics couldn't save her. Stopped me moaning about queueing for hours. Hope you have a great time on Britannia. We went on Azura to the carribean and loved it.
Hi Tracey yes thanks had it cut 😁 and 4.5 hours think even we would of moaned then lol 😆 and oh no that poor lady that's just awful. Makes you realise how short life is though and that's why we intend to make the most of it 😁😁
Trying to decide between, Britannia or Iona to do the Fjords next year, so all your info is really helping. I have been on Arvia and Britannia looks very old fashioned in comparison..wanting to go to Flam and Iona doesn't go there! so lots of weighing up going on.
Did you know you can ask for more of anything in the main dining rooms? You could have had 2 steaks or two puddings. They will always try and accommodate. Thanks for taking us with you
Hi Sarah we do joke about the small portions but we do know you can ask for more 😁 we did a MDR Food video and mentioned it in that to make people aware. We certainly didn't know last year when we did our first cruise though lol 🤣
Ive cruised with P&O a few times .This is may partnets first cruise. We both have walking difficalties. Not too sure if the P & O app on board will be kind to us...we start on 5th May Norway.xx
Hi Belinda Try not to worry about it and have a great time. Its frustrating for us as we love our tech but there is always the Horizon magazine to fall back on. It is a pain when it doesn't work for the virtual queue for dining but don't worry just head down and ask the crew in the restaurants. They all seemed helpful and very friendly 😁👍
I can’t wait to see if the buffet gets better. We did a PO Azura earlier in the year, and we were disappointed with it. Not a great selection and not that tasty. We had only done MSC before, and based on everyone’s comments, was expecting it to be much better than them. But actually MSC had way more choice for our tastes. But that being said, there were some aspects of P&O that we loved. I’m not really sure we can compare them. So, we will just do which ever has a good price, and an itinerary we like!
Hi Katie agree with everything you said. We were expecting it to be better after what was said about the MSC buffets lol. But like you there was parts of this ship we also loved. Don't think we'll ever be completely loyal to one cruise line not even MSC, we love all of them for different reasons and want to try out as many lines and ships as we can lol 😁
We have just got off the Arvia today but as a couple our favourite P&O ship is Britannia. We are not great lovers of the new ‘website’ for booking breakfast, dinner and any shows, it seemed very hit and miss on Arvia and there were a few things we actually missed out on through the confusion of the ‘My Holiday’ website. Anyway, hope you enjoyed Britannia and we booked our next holiday on Ventura for July 2024 to the Canaries.
Hi Steve hope that overall you had a great time on the Arvia, and yes thanks we had a brilliant 5 days 😁 We would love to get on the Ventura at some point in the future
@@OneCouplesAdventure Arvia was wonderful if not confusing with the ‘My Holiday’ website but I’m sure they’ll get there eventually. It will be our first time on Ventura, sister ship to Azura that we should have been on in the Caribbean during Covid but alas that got cancelled. Enjoy your next cruise wherever that may be 😊👍🏻
We have recently got off the Iona as a recommendation from yourselves after watching your videos. We found it to be very similar during half term holidays that a lot of the older generation moaned quite a bit about times and waiting. In terms of the main restaurant slight opal and pearl. Where are you used to be able to book a time it was the same for us where you had to join a virtual queue instead I don’t know if this was because it was half term and full or whether it’s what they’ve changed you instead
Hi hope you had a great time overall, and so you couldn't book a time on Iona either just join a virtual queue and wait in line? Where did you sail to ?
@@OneCouplesAdventure we went to Norway. And yes, so if you wanted to do a main restaurant then you had to join a virtual queue and you had to join this when it opened if you wanted to eat before 8 as the queues were awful. We waited 2 hours for glasshouse on a virtual queue and they were only running about 8 tables in both keel and cow and glasshouse all holiday. It was crazy. There just wasn’t enough staff to manage the dining in any of the speciality restaurants for the whole trip. Even the likes of sindu and olive grove were the same.
@@OneCouplesAdventure cheers mate, hope you two get to make lots more vids of your adventures ... not sayin you have to, but we're considering a road trip around new york state, new jersey n maybe a coulpe of the states in that general area ... so if you wanna do a vid on such a road trip, that'd be gr8. lol
Great vlog yet again , we met you onboard and you are such a bubbly couple. Informative as always and always smiling ,looking forward to your future vlogs . As we told you when we met ,you helped us decide to book our first ever cruise to Norway, and have followed you ever since . Jan & Ray from Southampton
Hi Ray and Jan nice to hear from you , we were even talking about you earlier lol and how lovely you both were 😁 was lovely chatting to you both. We forgot ask you on the last day did you manage get all your washing and ironing done before leaving lol 😆
No didn’t get it done as not enough Time as not enough machines, but not a problem as don’t really go on a cruise to do washing 😂 however we have just booked for Norway again in June and looking to go on the trol trek , hope it’s not as wet as yours lol😊 hope to meet you again one day
Just to let you know that P&o tell ALL guests which room they are in (if they haven’t chosen one themselves) which has the deck letter with it. E.g. a214 is A deck. Also, most people do research before they book and board. You choose your preferred dining method before you click “book” so you’ve selected freedom dining rather than club dining, where you eat at the same table and same time each day. You probably didn’t read the screen thoroughly enough whilst making your booking, which is understandable-it’s exciting! I hope you enjoy your cruise!
We selected the saver option when we booked as the select was almost the same price as the cruise and the on board spends was about £100 so it was not worth it to select our cabin and choose our dining. So it never came up as an option for us to select the dining preferences.
Have never cruised before and are looking at booking for later in 2024. Still not sure if the crowds is my thing as it appears busy everywhere. Love the vid though. I've now subsribed.
Thanks so much and yes you do really need to do your research into ships and cruise lines etc as they all offer something different. It is a nice way to travel though but can be busy at times
Hi guys, we are going on our 1st cruise on Britannia next year to the Fyords. What time of year did you go in this video? Great informative videos for new cruisers. Cheers
We cruised on Azura in march and we're very disappointed with the food in main dining rooms. But it was a cheap cruise so I suppose you get what you pay for. Hope Arvia in September is better
Helpful & informative as always. Thanks for sharing. We are considering using the same parking as you. Could you tell me how far in advance you call to spk to someone about parking and also the name of the road you pick up an Uber? Thanks in advance and have a fab cruise! Look forward to watching the rest of the series .
I rang just to confirm if you can park on there for any amount of time. The uber app will just use your location so wherever you are waiting they will find you
I LOVE your videos and we’re going on Britannia in May (first ever cruise) and when we were booking you know how there’s the saver fare or the select fare? Well whichever one we picked it asked if we wanted freedom dining or set dining, and because we’re travelling with a 97 year old we’ve gone with the 6.30 booking 😂 I’ve seen from other cruisers that you can ask for more than one starter/main/ dessert if you want!
Hi thanks so much for watching us. And yes we have found out since we didn't book the select fare just the saver so we never got given it as a option. And haha we have done a food video cus as much as we joke about the small portions we do say you can have as much as you want lol. And awww hope the 97 year old you are travelling with has a lovely time. We would give anything to have our grandparents back and be able to have such a lovely memory with them 😁 so enjoy and have a great 1st cruise 😍
Hi. I hope you answer this 🤞🏻. My Mother & Aunt both 83 are going on this ship in a weeks time. We have very much persuaded them to try this ship as they went on a Tui Marella cruise in May & had an awful time. We have told them this ship is much nicer & bigger! So we are hoping that is the case so I’m guessing, this is my question,is this ship going to be bigger for them & if so is it going to be nicer?? Please hopefully say yes 🤞🏻 as we are worried about them as they had such a bad time on their 1st ever cruise in May!! I’ve said the Med should be calmer than the Canary Islands cruise they did!! Sorry for long message.
Hi guys thanks for uploading, great info, over the last year think we have followed you onto Iona, then Virtuosa, and now Britannia (we board end April) lol, we have done about 30 cruises over the years but only started vlogging them about a year ago😂 cheers Nigel @TravelswiththeRussells
Hi guys i am goin on the brittania in may first cruise ..black tie nights does it have to be a black tie 😮.if u have a drinks package and you book an xtra restaurant do u pay xtra for youre drink or is it included with ure meal 😊
It doesn't have to be black tie but you do have to wear some kind of suit jacket. We've got a p&o gala videos for different ships, which might help you out
Hi guys looking forward to seeing more content from you as I love watching the both of you. Can you pay for the car park up front or do you pay when you get at the west quay car park. Also what money do msc take is it euros or sterling around Europe xxx
Hello Kev & Stacey As we spoke on board about embarkment and the buffet i will still leave you a comment I will have to agree with you, the amount of people moaning about the length of time it took to board, turn up on time not 2/3 hrs before, that's the answer. Take it your car was safe in West quay carpark, will look at that myself on our next cruise. We used the buffet lunch times only and it wasn't that good, have cruised with P&O many times and that was not one of there better ones. The P&O my holiday app was down at peak times for the main restaurant's in the evenings day 1 & 2, so you had to queue to get a hand buzzer and then wait over 1 hour to get a table wasn't a problem for us, we sat in the bar. Kev, you looked disappointed with your 1 scope of ice cream just as i did with my cheese and biscuits 2 small bits of cheese 3 biscuits 1 grape and a slice of carrot. We booked 9 months in advance inside cabin, they picked the deck and cabin number near the time, £700 per couple so you got a very good deal. great vlog looking forward to the others regards Shaun
Hi Shaun, nice hear off you again. Interesting to see your thoughts as well and to know they are pretty much the same. Had us laughing at the cheese and biscuits lol 😆. We joined the queue 1st thing on the 1st night so didn't realise the app went down after then! Knew it had the second evening on Gala night.
Another well informed vlog , but have to be honest didn’t like look of that ship compared to your MSC ones ,I was telling hubby how good they look , but he watched this with me and think he wasn’t too keen it looked so busy and sounded a bit confusing around info lol , let’s hope you enjoy as much as your others , that first meal didn’t look enough for you to either 😂😂😂❤
@@OneCouplesAdventure hi glad you welcomed my comments wasn’t sure I should have been so honest lol , you just seemed a little stressed to me 🥰 I’m sure once you get to know ship you will have a fab cruise as always , we go back to Florida in June 👏👏👍🏻🥰
This should have been our first ship but covid got in the way. Now booked to be on it in July 24 to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Not a big fan of P&O but can’t wait to get on this ship!
Thanks for that, we hav'nt cruised since covid and not neading a smart phone has us a wondering if it is worth all the hastle now. ( Don't get old like us 😂😃)
So is the restaurant like the virtuoso where you can order more than one dish or is it just a three course meal? I'm sure you'll cover it in the food video but so far I'm underwhelmed compared to your MSc cruises 😂
Having done Britannia 3 times,. When kev was disappointed with the buffet it made my day, I think p&o buffets are the worst at sea. The annoying part is the speciality restaurants are some of the best at sea. So they can do food they just choose not to and the late night buffet is a shambles, think I uploaded a video on this. But definitely looking forward to the rest of the series , Rotterdam is amazing.
We did do a separate video on the Buffet lol that will be coming out but completely agree with what you said. The speciality restaurants are amazing though 😋
When booking shows etc, do they check your names before entering and can you sit where you want or are you allocated seats? We were on princess ship going around Australia in April and they had a similar booking system but we never bothered after the 2nd day as nobody was checking as you walked in, so seemed pointless 🤔
Britannia is like marmite people either love it or hate it . But for the price you paid you can’t go wrong £139 a night with food and entertainment and ports . You would pay more than that for a hotel . Hope you had a good time and enjoyed it .
I got back from the Virtuosa end of march and we had 5100 passengers on board. It was my first cruise and don't think I'll do a mega ship again. It was just too big , the food was always warm and my dad and I got a sickness bug day 4-7. I will say it's not put me off cruising though - MSC staff were absolutely wonderful and I've heard p&o are good too.
They keep some of the obstructed view cabins back for covid people who are in inside cabins. We had are worst cruise in December on Britannia never again with P&O. We’ve done 7 different lines in the past 19 cruises in all. We both got covid I was in the cabins for 7 days my hubby 11 days . Food was horrible most of the time especially the buffet. Desserts horrible , Pay restaurants good but all gone up to what they used to be. Wifi terrible the app is hopeless. Not cruising this year at all, it’s put us off . Maybe next year but only with Celebrity, Holland America or Azamara.
We did a two-week Caribbean cruise on the Britannia and she is a very confusing ship to navigate, and the fellow passengers were a bit stuck up, we called them 'wish I was a Cunarder' , our favourite company is MSC but Celebrity an excellent company to cruise with, take care.
Its 2023 they need to get a proper app sorted like the other big lines. Taking photos of multiple pages and having to zoom in and out all the time is more effort than needed
@@OneCouplesAdventure Exactly. P&O are part of the Carnival Corporation as are Princess Cruises. I have not sailed with Princess Cruises but they do seem to be a lot more tech savvy then a lot of other Cruise Lines. You wouldn't expect them to have exactly the same Apps etc, but you would expect P&O to have one by now. I realise some people like to digital detox when on holiday and other people prefer to have a physical daily newsletter, but there are also a lot of people would prefer the details on an app for ease of use and environmental reasons.
Yes would be great if like on Princess you can select to go paper free. We appreciate that not everyone is tech savvy so they should certainly still offer the paper copy to those who wish to use it. They can than offer the best of both worlds 😁
Some cruisers like to moan, don't they! I'm in a number of FB groups for cruising and although most people are helpful some are really rude on there and moany. It's a privilege to be able to afford to travel, I say some things need to go over your head.
Yes 100% this. We definitely see it as a privilege to be able to travel and are so grateful for it. We aren't on any Facebook pages and don't intend to be! Sounds like some ruin it for those who are trying to be helpful

Kev mate, WHERE do you two check the prices once you've booked??
great vids btw, really enjoying em
Do you mean the price of the cruise? I just check on whatever site I booked it through as if I was booking it again
@@OneCouplesAdventure cheers mate, hope you two get to make lots more vids of your adventures ...
not sayin you have to, but we're considering a road trip around new york state, new jersey n maybe a coulpe of the states in that general area ... so if you wanna do a vid on such a road trip, that'd be gr8. lol
We've got a load of New York videos including going to Philadelphia for the day.
We are looking at going Boston and those states up that way
interesting, would that be a road trip (winibago style) will keep en eye out, ty kev
No didn’t get it done as not enough Time as not enough machines, but not a problem as don’t really go on a cruise to do washing 😂 however we have just booked for Norway again in June and looking to go on the trol trek , hope it’s not as wet as yours lol😊 hope to meet you again one day
Brilliant, we've love do Norway again. Is it on the Iona
Yes on the Iona, Jans favourite ,got friend coming on their first cruise so told them to watch your vlog ❤
Fantastic and haha yes hopefully you have better weather on the troll car lol 😆
Tempted to try Brittania next year to Norway 🇳🇴 🎉
Have never cruised before and are looking at booking for later in 2024. Still not sure if the crowds is my thing as it appears busy everywhere. Love the vid though. I've now subsribed.
Thanks so much and yes you do really need to do your research into ships and cruise lines etc as they all offer something different. It is a nice way to travel though but can be busy at times
Hi guys, we are going on our 1st cruise on Britannia next year to the Fyords. What time of year did you go in this video? Great informative videos for new cruisers. Cheers
Hi it was Easter, good Friday we got on the ship
We cruised on Azura in march and we're very disappointed with the food in main dining rooms. But it was a cheap cruise so I suppose you get what you pay for. Hope Arvia in September is better
The Arvia does look amazing, we would love to Try it one year
I feel sad for you that the buffet was a bit lame, you were so excited for it!
Haha thanks 🤣 good job we had those 4 hot cross buns In the car lol
@@OneCouplesAdventure thank you! She has alzeihmers so I'm a full time carer but she wanted to go away
Hi we have never cruised with Marella so can't compare but I'm sure they'll have a lovely time on the Britannia
Thanks Guys and wow that's alot of cruises 😁. Hope you have a great time on the Britannia and wishing you all the best with your channel 😀
@@OneCouplesAdventure thanks very much 😎
Hi guys i am goin on the brittania in may first cruise ..black tie nights does it have to be a black tie 😮.if u have a drinks package and you book an xtra restaurant do u pay xtra for youre drink or is it included with ure meal 😊
You pay when you go back after your cruise. A European cruise with msc is usually in euros, but it could be in gbp
@@OneCouplesAdventure thanks for the reply x
Going on Iona next year for my 70th birthday. Hope the food is better. Portions look a bit stingy. Love you videos.
Thanks Lynda, and what a lovely way to spend your 7Oth 😁
Hello Kev & Stacey
As we spoke on board about embarkment and the buffet i will still leave you a comment
I will have to agree with you, the amount of people moaning about the length of time it took to board, turn up on time not 2/3 hrs before, that's the answer.
We booked 9 months in advance inside cabin, they picked the deck and cabin number near the time, £700 per couple so you got a very good deal.
great vlog looking forward to the others
regards
Shaun
Thanks Gloria and interesting to hear your thoughts from what you saw. Hope you're both ok? When you back to Florida?😁
Hi, I'm going on a 2024 january cruise on the Britannia ship, can you tell me if the sauna is included or cost extra, no info on website.
Hi the sauna and spa is extra. We have never used ourselves so you will have to ask onboard the prices etc
This should have been our first ship but covid got in the way. Now booked to be on it in July 24 to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Not a big fan of P&O but can’t wait to get on this ship!
By the time we get on this ship it will be cruise 10 and ship 7 😇
A lovely way to celebrate your Anniversary 😁
Hi guys, where did you park? enjoy your Cruise!
Thanks so much and we showed you where exactly and explained it in the video. Hope it helps you out 👍
What happens about booking freedom dining and shows if you havn't got a smart phone, can you just go down and queue as you used to before covid ?
You can just go down and wait to be seated. Not sure about the shows im sure if you go to guest services they would book them for you
Thanks for that, we hav'nt cruised since covid and not neading a smart phone has us a wondering if it is worth all the hastle now.
( Don't get old like us 😂😃)
So is the restaurant like the virtuoso where you can order more than one dish or is it just a three course meal? I'm sure you'll cover it in the food video but so far I'm underwhelmed compared to your MSc cruises 😂
Hi yes we will cover it in the food video but don't worry lol as much as we joke about the small portions you can order as much as you want 😁.
Do you know which terminal Royal Caribbean uses in South Hampton?
Not sure sorry we've never been with Royal Caribbean before, we hope to at some point though
Thanks Matthew, really helpful for others and us lol.
Hiya, we’re going on the Iona a week today, very excited. Could I ask how much your Uber cost as we will be doing a similar journey. Thanks Julie 😌
The uber from west quay to ocean terminal cost about £9. Just be aware ubers price can got up and down depending on demand
@@OneCouplesAdventure perfect thanks, looking forward to watching the rest of the vlogs x
When booking shows etc, do they check your names before entering and can you sit where you want or are you allocated seats? We were on princess ship going around Australia in April and they had a similar booking system but we never bothered after the 2nd day as nobody was checking as you walked in, so seemed pointless 🤔
Hi yes they scanned your cruise card as you went in. You can sit anywhere you like though
Britannia is like marmite people either love it or hate it . But for the price you paid you can’t go wrong £139 a night with food and entertainment and ports . You would pay more than that for a hotel . Hope you had a good time and enjoyed it .
Thanks so much and yes completely agree and that's why we always try to judge things on the price we have paid 😀
Thanks for the video
Hi guys enjoy
I don't think i could cope on a full cruise, everywhere being full all the time would drive me crazy 😂
It was a learning curve for us as we have never been away during the holidays. To be expected in the kids holidays though a full ship
I was on the cruise too
Hope you had a great time
I have autism and love p&o Aurora because it's a small ship and not to busy for me. Have you been on Aurora.
Hi no we haven't
Just been on aurora, I found it little confusing layout, but it was great time.
@@natasha8966 im going on aurora next year and i have no one to go with
Love the dance moves
Thanks Jennifer 🙈
12 days til ventura xx
Not long now Jennifer 😁
What a shame, must of been awful when you got ill. Hopefully in time you can get back into cruising again 👍
We did a two-week Caribbean cruise on the Britannia and she is a very confusing ship to navigate, and the fellow passengers were a bit stuck up, we called them 'wish I was a Cunarder' , our favourite company is MSC but Celebrity an excellent company to cruise with, take care.
🤣 . We have yet to try a Celebrity cruise but its on the list 👍
We did a 2 week Caribbean in November 2021. Worst cruise ever.
Take photos of the magazine. Sorted.
Its 2023 they need to get a proper app sorted like the other big lines. Taking photos of multiple pages and having to zoom in and out all the time is more effort than needed
Well said!
Off peak only for me. ❤
We do normally 😁
👍🙋🇩🇪
Some cruisers like to moan, don't they! I'm in a number of FB groups for cruising and although most people are helpful some are really rude on there and moany. It's a privilege to be able to afford to travel, I say some things need to go over your head.
Yes 100% this. We definitely see it as a privilege to be able to travel and are so grateful for it. We aren't on any Facebook pages and don't intend to be! Sounds like some ruin it for those who are trying to be helpful
