Thank you! I was wondering how to play this. At first I thought you needed double bass drums to do it but never mind. I can finally learn how to play it.
@JoopDelingen I'm left footed and right handed but learnt to play both ways because I teach drums. It's not me showing off if that's what you think :) Electric kick pads are not the best for super fast DB action. You can't beat a real kick drum for that I'm afraid.
This really helps with my drumming and I can do the beat really fast but sometimes I can't or forgot how to do the bass drum part and I tried watching the video alot but It seems that I can't remember how to do the bass drum parts can you give me tips? -Francis
Hey mate, thanks for uploading the video its pretty awesome and really helpful would you mind upolading a tutorial for either simple plan - jet lag or we the kings - kiss me last or say you like me? i met simple plan and we the kings and i'd really like to be able to play their songs... thanks :D
I thought the "little roll" at the end of the first bar was on the high tom ("and" on the floor tom but "a" on the high) and beat 4 of the second bar was snare and crash rather than open high hat. It doesn't sound much different to be honest but the sticking feels more natural to me. works either way. Good stuff.
It's called the Toe-heel technique or "Slide" technique. I show you how to play it in my latest free video lesson on "How To Play The Bass Drum". Hope that helps you out :)
thanks for uploading this helped loads! i'm finding it difficult using the opening and closing the hit hat at the end of 2nd bar, will it work as well if i just used the crash?
Hey I am a new drum player and I have been looking for tutorials for the songs I like but I have found nothing so could you have a drum tutorial for "relient k be my escape". If so please leave a comment :) thank you
As in, "Mums The Word"...insider knowledge...a secret drum place...the only drum pun that still had a domain name available at the time...I don't know, it made sense four years back :)
@iwatchvideosbecause Your "Drum Memory" hasn't developed yet. Over years you get better and better at hearing a drum beat and memorising it, just like practising a new language. Don't beat yourself up over the occasional bass drum miss hit, it's not the end of the world. Keep practising and over time this will become easier for you. Hope that helps! Rob:)
Looks like a Roland, but I think it's custom built since I can't find this exact one. The closest I can find to this is the "Roland TD-11K" It costs about 1000 USD where I live.
You're really cute ;3 by the way thanks I'm a beginner on drums and with this video you helped a lot, I like the way you show how to play! P.S. Your voice not annoying ;D
I noticed that and thought it was cool you got it set up that way for our benefit. Maybe worth trying just a completely left-handed setup and simply mirroring the video image? Anyway, you've been super helpful. Have used four of your free videos so far, and they really are just perfect. I never thought I'd be able to play "The End" by The Beatles perfectly, for example, but I'm absolutely nailing it now. Thanks so much.
it's funny that I'm watching this 4 his face!. . and his brown hair and his drum tattoo on his right arm and his accent and his everything! . . ps:I'm no drummer!
Dude, each of your videos is 100% excellent! That you provide the drum notation as well is just pure gold. Thank you sooo much!
Glad I could help you, Erik. And thanks for your kind support!
