- Happy Halloween! It’s time to make Jack Skellington from The Nightmare Before Christmas! Watch me create his armature and sculpt him from polymer clay and paint him with acrylic paints. In this tutorial I try to keep him as movie accurate and as close to the original stop motion puppet as possible.

Watching the process of him sculpting Jack, only made me appreciate his design sooo much more. It's a rather simple design until you take a closer look at it and find all those little important details, that make the character as endeering as he is...

I always thought he was 7 ft
Typically I disapprove of artists recreating Jack, because he is difficult to get "right", but this was incredibly faithful to the original. Impressive.
I did a life-sized Jack Skellington for my daughter out of open cell foam a few years ago.

I'm not gonna lie. I teared up several times watching this. I love The Nightmare Before Christmas and Jack especially. I LEARNED TO DRAW because I wanted to make my own awesome fanart of THAT movie. There's so much attention to detail in all your sculptures, even your original ones, and this really takes the clay for me. I never actually payed attention to sculpting or sculptors on TH-cam, but GOD im so glad u am here today to witness this. 😭 Thank you so much for making Jack become real by your own hands. Absolutely the most movie accurate version I’ve seen sculpted on TH-cam, you really got the proportions and shapes very close if not perfect and gave him all the personality and charm of the original!

I've always been scared to sculpt Jack because as simple as he seems it's sometimes the simple characters that are tough to get perfectly. Yet you did him perfectly!
