Learn how to install your new genuine Honda Red (Type R) JDM Emblem on the front of your Civic! Although this installation is for the front of a 2014 Civic Si Sedan, it also applies to any other Civic or other Honda / Acura vehicle as well, including older ones.
This particular JDM Honda H Emblem featured in this video is for the front of a 2012 to 2014 Civic Si Sedan. Installing the front emblem is fairly straightforward, but we do usually recommend removing the front grill, which itself is easy and we show you exactly hot to do it.
Summary of Important Steps of the Front JDM Honda Emblem Install:
1. Open the hood and remove the grille cover ( • Front JDM Honda Red H ... .
2. Remove front grill that holds the factory emblem ( • Front JDM Honda Red H ... .
3. Remove the factory Honda emblem from the front grill ( • Front JDM Honda Red H ... .
4. Clean the emblem holder on the grill with rubbing alcohol, remove the back tabs and adhesive cover from the JDM emblem, then place the new JDM Honda emblem in the front emblem holder ( • Front JDM Honda Red H ... .
5. Re-install the grill and cover on the vehicle. You're done!
Also, beware of knock-off / fake Honda emblems! We only sell the genuine Honda ones. Key Benefits of a Genuine Type R Emblem:

For those trying this same procedure on a 2014-2015 coupe, the grill is definitely not the same. I just finished replacing the emblems on my 2015 Si coupe, and the plastic grill does not completely come off the same way, and I didn't want to try to remove it, for fear of cracking any pieces. If you don't have huge arms and have a little bit of patience, you can remove/break the clips blind from behind if you can wedge your arms and pliers behind the grill. Just pop off the plastic rivets like in this video, and it will give a little space to get behind the grill.
Hey man!! I know this comment is old, but how did you end up taking off the rear badge for the 2015 SI coupe. Did you break it off with the rear pins as well?
@@04majestic ooh that was a while ago! If I remember correctly, I think I was able to get a piece of dental floss threaded behind the badge, and got the badge up so I could carefully pull at it, moving from one side to the other, and was able to remove the badge without breaking it. If you don’t care about keeping the badge, you can def just muscle it and rip it off lol
I bought both front and rear. Perfect. I got my steering wheel emblem from grafixpressions. Easy install, looks good, and fit flush on my 2015 coupe.
+Justin Kos For some reason I wasn't able to reply to your comment directly, possibly a glitch with youtube. Not exactly, the front grill on the coupes is slightly different and will may require the bumper to be removed for easier access.
Great video guys, thanks for it. The front jdm emblem has the same size like rear emblem? I bought two jdm emblems and I was trying to install the front one but i noticed that it doesn't fit correctly like the rear one, can you help me? I have a SI coupe 2013. Thanks!
+Isaac Gómez The emblems do change based on the type. The Sedans have 2 different emblems, while the Coupes use the same size for both front and rear. If you are having issues, simply email customercare@procivic.com for tech assistance.
Hey, I also wanted to ask, can you make a video how to install springs? Skunk 2 springs? I might buy them in the near future. That way I learn how to install them myself. I drive the 13 coupe SI.
1990GreenAngel Yes, although you should check out our coilover install video. It is pretty similar to installing springs, just missing the spring compression step.
Hey are those pop clicks reusable or does it break them to pop them out? I’m trying to install my Si badge on the FRONT grill and kind of need to get in there
I’m guessing to replace the genuine Si logo next to the H emblem is the same way, correct ?
Like which year fits my car? I can’t find any with the range of 2012-2015…..
I just replaced my cracked Grill and forgot to put the emblem on..
Hey, can the emblem be placed on a Honda Civic 2013 LX or only on the Si ?
I had a 17 accord sport and replaced my emblems, i didn't have to take off the grill at all. Is this really necessary?
These look awesome!! I want some for my Dc5 but I want the real deal :/
Which badge can fit my 2013 Honda Civic SI.. I seem to can’t find any..
I'm looking to find a Decepticon logo to fit the from emblem there, Is there any that would fit it properly? Or am I chasing a dream.
Will this work fora 2015 Si Coupe? The sedan looks slightly different and the grill looks like its part of the bumper on my car
thank you for this awesome video! could you guys please make a how-to installation video for the 9th gen civic red H steering wheel emblem?
Unfortunately all of the steering wheel emblems are fakes / knock-offs, so we don't sell those. As I understand it, they are basically overlays that go over your factory steering wheel emblem.
U can always drill js that's what I'm do to mine right now. Also I recommend sending the emblem housing area will bind way way better
If I wanted to take off my stock Honda emblem on my 09' Honda Civ LX, plastidip it and then replace it on my grill, would that be possible without breaking those washer on the back of the grill?
I'm not sure, it seems like you do have to break the little washers off.
Once you remove the grille cover, is it necessary to remove the grill? It looks like you have access to the badge pins without removing the grille. Comments?
It is not required to remove the grill. We did it because it is easier to show the steps that way, and some people may have trouble accessing the back side of the grill.
Tired to do it on my 2014 coupe couldn't get those tabs behind the grilled pressed in , until I broke one smh...going to just take it to a shop some time
Sorry to hear that! Sometimes things like that can happen, especially with small tabs like that. A good shop should be able to fix it for you.
No, the genuine steering wheel emblems cannot be sold, since they come from Honda with the airbag assembly attached, and it would cost about $800 or so. This is why we don't sell them. Any ones you see for sale are most likely fakes, unless they are from a salvaged Type R vehicle from Japan.
+Torino117 It will more than likely need the grill to come off. There are clips behind it that would be difficult to reach while on the car
PRO Car Studio
Plz guys, im looking for the red H emblems for my 2005 civic coupe (7th gen em2) with a type r style grill mounted.
Uve been looking for AGES to find emblems that fit, but NO ONE seems to know what size to put on the front of those... its not the smallest one, but also not the biggest one ( newer type r's)
Plz some help!
Thx alot
What’s the point in doing all this if you can carefully wedge the emblem off?
are those hid or led turn signal lights? or how did you get the clear look on them? is it a bulb or did you have to go in the headlight ?
Is this the same for the sedan 4 door models? Or is this only for the si ones
I’ve seen tons of people do it to their car and they didn’t have to take the front end off. You ended up breaking the pins off anyway. I have the 11th Gen. I’m gonna do that mine but I’m not gonna do all that because I’d have to take off the entire bumper..lol 🚗
Just done this, took 30 mins, 2013 hatchback, there were 4 screws holding the 'h' bracket on, undone them (fiddly) and the whole thing comes off. Old badge off, new one on and back together.
No need to take the grill part off mine
i really want these honda emblems you guys use to have but you dont have them anymore :( where can i get these?
Hi, yes I'm sorry we can't get these anymore. I'm not sure where the genuine ones can be purchased now!
So I ordered them for my coupe. The rear one actually has an actual "spot" for the emblem. Is it going to fit properly ?
Andy Allaby The "spot" is mostly just a small cut out in the factory spoiler. The new JDM Red emblem should fit just fine. We've had many customers install these on 2014+ Civic Coupes.
Is the installation the same for a 15 Si coupe?????
can anyone tell me if I can you this grill to the civic hybrid 2013?
Do you remove the emblem for the coupe the same way front and back? And also how can I remove my civic badge? And my si one in the front?
The coupe is a very similar procedure to the sedan...basically identical. As far as the other factory badges, just use a combination of dental floss, a hair dryer, and rubbing alcohol. The trick is to heat up the emblem and adhesive quite a bit, then work your way in with the floss, you can also pour some alcohol over the top to help lift the adhesive.
Would it be the same process on the coupe style of the 2014-2015 civic si?
Matt's Vlog Similar, but not exactly the same due to the different trunk and front grille.
Have you guys seen under the hood of the 14 coupe, it is in no way the same as the sedan I cannot get behind the grill and I cannot find these rivets you speak of + there is no room between the grill and the rad, looks like you could fit a baby in between the sedan
If you cannot access the rear of the grill, then you need to remove it like we did for the Sedan video (above).
Hi there, I'm just curious. Are those plastic pop up things that secure the cover still usable after being 'popped'?
+spEtzillian Yes, as long as they were not damaged when removed
Heat gun, plastic trim tool and you can do the rear and the front quickly. Didnt have to take off anything but pull down part of the trunkliner doing the rear.
How would you reinstall the bumper in place? Will the popped-in tabs be able to return to their original shape?
Thats my exact the same question.. how to put back the grill.. the bottom pop tabs is up side down.. so how to put it back.. hopefully some one will answer this.. so i can start replacing my grill tomorrow☺️
Where can I get a rear emblem that fits a 2010 Lx coupe?? The lip spoiler throws it off a little...
Eddie V You can get the rear emblem from us! Check out the video description for all the info and product link.
do you have to actually take the trunk liner out and take the front cover off? i've seen videos where people just took fishing line and basically cut the emblems off and snapped the clips
btw i have the 2015 si coupe
+Chris Beckz We did it this way so that we are able to put it back if we ever have to. You can pop it off, but it will break the tabs and you'll have to purchase a new one if you ever need to put it back.
oh ok, cool. thanks for the reply! ill be ordering a lot of parts from you guys in the coming months :D
would it be possible for you guys to do a video for a coupe?
I don't know if we will because the process is very similar, except for the 2014 coupe where apparently the rear emblem can be removed without opening the trunk.
how come the hexagons on the top of the grill covered
How do I take this off now.
how did you install all the rivets inside? i mean is it much more difficult putting them back on or removing them?
The new JDM emblem attaches with strong adhesive, so there is no need to re-install the rivets. As far as the other rivets (actually called "push clips"), they are easy to put back on. In general, clips are easier to put back on than take off.
***** ok thanks im planning on buying one for my si, this vid helps alot.
is there any video on how to install subs on the 2014 si models ????
No, we mostly do performance parts and accessories here.
Ahh dam lol but I do watch you guys videos u guys thought me a lot
does this car have the same measurements as the 2014 2 door coupe? not the si tho
I have a 2014 Honda Accord Sport. I wanted to purchase the steering, front, and rear emblems. I wanted to purchase it from procivic.com but which size do I select? There isn't an option for Accords, I only see Civics
+Felix Stephen Check out our sister site: www.proimporttuners.com. Just keep in mind though, the steering wheel emblem is not offered since it is fake unless you purchase a Honda airbag with it.
Will you guys ever get the red emblems again
+Stefan boondock It's very doubtful. It has gotten more and more difficult to get a hold of an rather expensive. As such, we will more than likely not carry them again.
ivebeen I would try Corsportusa.com

Do you guys have a video on to install the emblem on the steering wheel?
+Wilfred Perez In order to install real emblems, it requires you to replace the steering wheel. As such, we do not have a video to install these.
PRO Car Studio thanks! For the info
You can either: 1. Overlay your aftermarket emblem on top of the old.
or 2. Remove horn fuse. Remove factory emblem. Install new emblem
Damn, I’m definitely gunna try and take it out from the front lolol
“micro-fiber paper towel” ?! 😂😂
where can I buy these emblems? Don't really want to deal with phony baloney.
+TheBayShadow Unfortunately, we do not know who is selling legitimate ones. We apologize for the inconvenience.
No worries, I have plenty of time for snooping around. Thanks for the reply.
TheBayShadow I went to my local Honda dealer and they had some for sale for like $90 for both front and rear
any chance these will come back to your site? or do you know of a reliable source to get authentic ones?
Unfortunately, they not likely be coming back. It ultimately became too difficult to import from Japan. As of right now, we are not sure who may still carry real ones. Sorry about this.
Hi! Do you guys also sell the JDM Red H Emblem for the steering wheel? Thanks!
Well 6 years later but the same answer as then. Honda doesn't make a red steering wheel emblem. Anyone you buy will be an aftermarket
how similar is this to swapping the emblems on a 07 ex coupe?
Very similar. :)
Would it be the same for a 2015 sedan si??
ProStreetz1 Yes, it will.
Where is the link to purchase both emblems ?
Andy Allaby It is at the top of the video description. Here it is again for convenience: www.procivic.com/pages-product_car_part_info/product-892/index.html
Are you guys out of Jdm emblems or something? Can't find it in your page
Yes, we no longer sell them due to the difficulty and cost in getting the genuine Honda ones.
PRO Civic.com i see, thanks
): my car got backed into this week, destroying my front jdm emblem I purchased from you guys, and I went to your site to purchase another but no more ))))): so depressing. Can you at least recommend a route to find authentics? I'm too ocd to have fake stuff on my car ^__^ Thanks!
+mikie jones Unfortunately, we just not sure who may still carry the authentic ones. Sorry!
it's okay, i think i found some, thanks though!
Would be pretty much the same for Civic si COUPE 2013 ? Prob will order the this week if you can confirm that. I got a question tho, on your website you recommand using a double sided tape... really?...
The installation is virtually the same on the 2012-2014 Coupe. You do not need to use extra double sided tape if you don't want to. The reason we mention that for the coupe is because part of the factory emblem holder is recessed, so the new emblem adhesive may not make full contact in one area. It is not required, just a suggestion if you want it to REALLY be stuck on there.
how do you take off the chrome piece on the grille
If you're talking about the chrome emblem, the video shows you how. I'm not sure about the outer chrome surround piece. I don't think it would look good if you took it off.
So, as I was taking the pop rivets off on the grill portion the first three going from the passenger side to the middle came out no issue. And the final hidden rivet on the driver side of the grill when I pushed down on it it just shot out of the hole and now I can't find it because if you recall looking down in this area it's super cluttered and cramped. How would I go about getting a replacement push rivet??
Ugh, we've all been there before. Sorry to hear about that lost rivet. Usually what I do is shake the bottom plastic undertray panels a bit, to listen for any sounds that would indicate the rivet is there and moving around. If you hear anything, then you can just remove the appropriate undertray panel and get your rivet. Otherwise, you can purchase replacements at a local general auto parts store or preferably from a Honda dealer (they may even give you a single one for free).
***** awesome thank you for the response! I did try that bump thing to hear if it moved but I didn't hear anything and well...I was putting them on at like 2am so I was tired and just said screw it I'll use one from the radiator cover and get a replacement later lol. I'll try asking Honda so thanks for the response and videos! Used it to put on both my badges. Enjoyed putting the rear one on better.
What about the SI badge on a 2013?
same thing bro
Wish those two video's didn't pop up on the screen at the end of the video (11:27). Can't get a great view of all the work you did to make this video -_-
+KAnE3o1 Those were automatically added on there. We'll be working on having that fixed. I apologize for the inconvenience.
I'm pretty sure by just looking at this whole video, my 2015 Civic Si coupe is far from identical under the hood. Mine isn't even held together by those 2 Allen bolts. Last thing I want to do is break my grill but I'm very annoyed that you guys think they are so similar that you can use this video still. Almost wishing I bought the sedan because that's the only car you do tutorials for.. Smh
Things will be different on the 2014+ Coupe, but the concepts are the same still. Fortunately we just don't have a step by step video for doing it on the coupe. If you like, send us a picture to customercare@procivic.com of the step you're on and we'll see if we can help you get through the install.
you are a fucking idiot. lets get our panties in a knot because this channel doesn't have a video for EVERY SINGLE CIVIC YEAR AND EVERY SINGLE TRIM. you don't know how to remove a grille? you're going to buy a car based on whether or not there's tutorials to remove a piece of plastic? at least compliment the channel for making a fucking tutorial. THIS VIDEO WAS POSTED IN JULY OF 2014 YOU FUCKING MORON.
Where did you get those genuine emblems?
We at one point sold them on our site, but have since discontinued them. I apologize for the inconvenience.
Im just gunna break mine off. Eff messing around with all that
I see on this K doesn’t really need remove all of those panels Because you use a double side sticker tape
i need a red h emblem for the 2016 civic
+Mauricio Guerrero Unfortunately, we currently are not carrying the emblems at the moment. We are having some supplier issues from Japan and there may be a chance we will no longer carry them. If we do settle things properly, we will add them back to the site, but it does not seem likely.
Vid seems to be long winded and unplanned task.
It seems that it might have not been a necessity to take the grill out just to remove and put emblem with adhesive.
Mscellobass You're correct on the emblem removal - it can be done by just ripping the stock emblem off, along with the little rivets that hold it in. However, we wanted to show the "proper" way to do it with damaging anything, including the emblem holder.
Why can't you guys zoom in on the location of the clips to give a viewer a perspective view. So we know where they are and not have a hard time finding them.
kenneth man Yes, we considered that, but we thought that given the location of our hands and where we were using the tools, even if the clip was not visible, users would still be able to find it. Good suggestion though.
Wonder why you didnt use a suction cup already. You move a lot your finger around to get a full view. Just sayin tho.
I've been told you have to remove the entire bumper to remove the grill.....
That is not what I understand, but I have not done the install myself on the 14 Coupe. We have quite a few customers who have though. In any case, if you are ever planning on getting a cold air intake, you'll need to remove the front bumper anyways. It is pretty easy to do on these new Civics.
why dont you just crack the old one off and slap the new one on ? seems a lot easier to me
Mike Rose You definitely could do that, but damage might result! We just wanted to do it the "proper" way to ensure that no damage occurs to the factory emblem or the grill.
TIP: dont do when cold out..you will break all the plastic
It’s way easier on the 14-15 coupe!!
Why won't the coupe made easy like this?
+supervong1 Wish we knew why Honda made them differently. Sorry about that!
I just used my wife's hair dryer and heated it up, peeled it off and done.
NOTE TO READERS!!! SEDAN IS DIFFERENT THAN COUPE!!
White balance and exposure
nice video.. the music gets extremely annoying though
Bernardo Essenfeld We tried to soften it as much as we could. If you don't have background music, sometimes the silence is awkward. In any case, thank you for the comment.
if youre gonna just break the tabs of the original emblem anyway...why bother taking all that shit off if youre just gonna use a sticky back emblem? MAKES ZERO SENSE!!
Nice. But way overpriced.
Compared to the fake / knock-off emblems, they are more expensive. These genuine ones are made in Japan (genuine Honda parts) and are MUCH better in quality than the fakes. We made a separate video about the differences. If you have a nice looking Civic and want quality parts to go with it, these genuine emblems are the way to go. They are priced competitively given how much they cost us to bring in.
Does this work on a 2014 si coupe also?
John Vang Yes, we have a separate application for that. Please see the product page link in the video description.
***** I was about to say the same but my SI is a 2013 coupe. Lol. Would it work the same way? Lol. I just ordered it. Should come sometime this week or next week.
1990GreenAngel Yes, as long as you put 2013 Si Coupe in the garage when ordering, you're fine.
