Mine looked very bad. Also wrap you clear coat can with packing tape around the seem of the can and the cap. So that clear doesn’t build up and drips on the paint like my last coat.🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

      I’ve seen them stick them over the old emblem.. it looked good to me.If you look at the back of the emblem, it’s all covered with sticky tape.. in my personal opinion, it’s made to go on the old emblem. When he removed the old emblem, did you notice that there wasn’t much material for the emblem to stick on strong?

  • @robcarter533
    @robcarter533 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    😡 FYI: Everyone fail to realize why those emblems are made into that cover. It is a safety measure in case that airbag ever deployed. The force will send that emblem flying directly to your face and possibly put your eye out! I'm just saying!😲

    I don't like how much the pleather gets damaged in this process. Ima just scrape the fake chrome off for better adhesion. I could also make a note of where the tabs are and drill into each, shallow and wide. Then a pick might pull the logo right off.

      Thanks man! I already bought a regular emblem but I was wondering if it was possible to get the 'rubbery' OEM one somewhere since I couldn't find it. Lovely Kanjo btw, I have a 2007 EXS.

    • @carkreeps3261
      @carkreeps3261  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      yea, the rubbery OEM one is the one you can't buy separately. once the rubbery OEM one is removed, there's no going back unless you buy the steering wheel airbag, new or used, because it is riveted on in the inside of the steering wheel airbag (horn)and it is not sold separately from the airbag. That's why you won't find rubbery OEM badge by itself. Even if you found it, I think it would be dangerous and difficult to install it due to the risk having the airbag going off. Nice, I like the 4 doors. Have you modded it?

      Martin Espel go to a Honda dealership website, then click parts, it will take you to ehondaparts and you can order everything directly from Honda . They have every oem bolt and piece and they come straight from Japan.

    • @achwee
      @achwee 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Hey thanks but I'm pretty sure they don't sell that emblem by itself and you have to buy the whole airbag module which is bonkers. I guess I'll have to install a cheap plastic knockoff to replace the original one.

    This should not have happened in the first place if Honda was still putting quality ahead of the profit margin...If a company doesn't even care enough to make their emblem from quality material what does this more than likely say for the rest of the car. Personally anything made of rubber on my 8th gen has gone bad including window seals, o-rings, roof channels not to mention all the screws are rusting as well as exterior body panels. Shame on you Honda
