Glad you like them! It means so much to read a comment like this!
This is wonderful. I am familiarizing myself with African birds and this is perfect since I'm traveling to South Africa within the next year or so. Very nice video.
Thank you for watching! If you have any questions about birding in South Africa I’d be happy to help you!
not skipping ads for this amazing film! deserve more subs!
Glad you enjoy it!
stumbled on this place by accident and had one of my best days birding!
What a great place!
This Reed Cormorant is unbelievable!
It is such a beautiful bird!
I'm almost gagging 😂
Great birding. Good to see birds on the other side of the ocean. We seem to have a lot of similar species here in Florida. Great birding video enjoyed watching. 👍
Thanks for visiting
❤
👍👍
Recently spent 5 days camping on a river, the first morning we heard Giant Kingfishers, however as much as I tried I couldn’t get a near enough shot, until our last day packing up, heard one close by and managed to get a reasonable yet still too far away photo (sun was also wrong direction).
They are such beautiful birds and hard to photograph!
Thank you so much Richard, for your enthralling and wonderfully filmed videos. I’m in Canada, but grew up in Zambia and was an avid birder even as a child. Your videos have awakened something deeply felt in me. I am now determined to visit SA and perhaps further north to focus on birding. What a treasure trove you are building.
I am so glad that you appreciate the videos and I wish you all the best for the planning your trip to South Africa! Keep an eye on my channel I have plenty of content coming in the following weeks and by the sounds of things you're going to really enjoy it!
Doesn't Canada have nice birds too? I'm sure you can do some birding there too to get your regular fix?
Great video Richard absolutely loved it 🤙
Thanks Ruan! Glad you enjoyed it and I appreciate the awesome comment!
Brilliant photography Richard thanks for sharing. You should be making wildlife programs for TV.

Wow, thanks
@@chriscomber5454 Thank you Chris!
I agree, your videos are extremely good. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much Pieter!
I just visited Intaka Island the week before last. Truly amazing birding place! If I watched your video before visiting, I would have looked for kingfishers more carefully. Wish I have a chance to visit it again, from Texas.
That is great! Thank you for watching!
Thank you for sharing
Thank you so much for watching!
Definitely also share to hubby He is a professional camera & sound guy ....
Hi Richard. We follow your birding videos from your travels near and far. We live in Milnerton and have been to Intaka with interesting sightings, but through your lens it looks even more spectacular. Thank you for reminding us of what is available on our doorstep, and also for ALL the other videos that you post. The subject matter and the quality are outstanding. Please keep posting.
Thank you so much for the kind words Johan I really appreciate it! I’m glad you enjoy the videos!
Fantastic video mate, funny enough I'm about to make my own birding video of Intaka after returning from Cape Town a few weeks ago. Thought I'd search TH-cam for other Intaka videos and found yours. Very well put together.
Thanks a lot Shaun I appreciate it! I’ll keep my eye out for your video! I watched your birding in Thailand video about 15 times when you posted it a while ago! 🤣
@Richard van Haght Hahaha believe me, I had loads more fun getting the footage than you did watching it. Lol Good stuff.
@@sferguk Haha I can imagine! 😂
Well done, Richard.
Thank you so much! I really appreciate all your kind comments! They go a long way!
Yellow Billed Duck - isn't it a blue 💙 on the wing not green? Or did I mishear?
# Superb 👌 video as usual 👍
Thank you for correcting me! Really appreciate you watching and commenting!
Another great video, thank you. The quality of your footage with whatever you are using is superb. I was in Cape Town last year - if only I'd known about this place, but its on my to do list if I ever get back!
Thank you very much! There's always next time, it is a great place to see such a diverse range of birdlife!
Me too. Definitely making a note of this place.
Wow, what a great place, right in the city. Loved all the burd sitings, especilly the Reed Corrmorant eating the huge tilapia. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for watching! A great birding location and safe too!
I can hear Little Rush Warbler in the background of the Yellow-billed Ducks. I always hear it but haven't managed to see it yet.
Keep trying you’ll eventually see them!
Great job! Birder from East London, South Africa here, well done on excellent footage and commentary, would love for more people to see how beautiful our country is
Thank you so much I appreciate it! 🙏🏻
Great video! I will go visit Intaka ASAP
Thanks for the kind comment! Please do!
Hahaha just finished editing my Intaka Birding video only to discover my opening shot is exactly the same as yours. Oh well, I'm not changing it now lol 😆
Hahaha I’ve been waiting for over a month, upload it! 🤣
@@RichardvanHaght eerrrmmmm still have to do the voice over so don't hold your breath hahaha Took long cos I first edited my 23000 photos I took on my recent trip to SA. But I'll get on it ... just for you. 😉
@@RichardvanHaght FIIIIINNNAAALLLYYY it's up mate ...enjoy.
If you dont mind me asking what sort of camera and Lens are you using primarily in this videl?
It’s an Eos R with a 300mm f2.8
How long were you in the hide for?
2 mornings
Hi Richard, I love all your videos, but you made a mistake. The giant Kingfisher is the second largest bird in the world . The largest Kingfisher is the Australian kookaburra native to Australia and New Guinea.
Thanks for the info!
