    H4 means the deposited weld will contain a maximum of 4ml of hydrogen per 100 grams of weld. The R in H4R stands for "resistant", which means the flux is extra resistant when compared to a standard 7018 H4.

In the spring I’m going to order one and I would really love to see that machine put through the paces. I do a lot of heavy equipment repair,Arc Gouging, Farm machinery repair and general fabrication. I mainly work as a mobile welder. Will be moving into a shop for increased productivity and machining capabilities. So if at all possible could you please run the MTS 400 through its paces for us guys that are interested in them? This man reminds me of my grandpa, has lots of same manners as he did.
    Granpa used to work in a nuclear reactor laboratory. 1970 to 2000s
    He was doing weld repairs to defective used aluminium fuelrods to be used again. Stick welding with a mechanical extension arm behind a yard (meter) thick led wall. You could not use basic dimmers so they had to use mirror or some sort of periscope to not be in the line of radiation. I belive that we dont do stuff like that anymore.

    Just a question for everyone, Why choose the CYCLONE 262, over the POWERMTS 251SI?
    Admittedly, that Screen/interface on the on the 262 is a much better, but having the option to run Tig is is more appealing. Any chance @everlastgenerator is upgrading the MTS 251 to a better screen? I guess the lighting series is the upgrade, but a $1k+ difference. Thanks

    Most of us have the machine we need for home projects…many of us have several…but I’m tired of the 3 minute duty cycle when welding heavier projects on the farm. Implements, structural projects and heavy equipment often have 1/2”-2” plate that needs deep penetration and the welding has to be done late into the night for several hours at a time. Can you recommend a HEAVY DUTY MIG? (I’ve go monster rod welders out the ying-yang (whatever that is…my grandfather used his a lot!).

    • @marklugo6002
      @marklugo6002 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The machine was upgraded to 50% duty cycle @ 275A. The duty cycle goes up as the amps drop. The unit has a heavier duty cycle than the competing Miller 252 and Lincoln 260. This unit at 250A has a duty cycle of 60%. 100% around 200A. Bigger machines typically require 3 phase for higher outputs. Everlast has a 312, which puts out 315A @ 35% duty cycle as well. If it's maximum power you are after with heavy duty cycle, you can look at the Power i MIG 353DPi, or the PowerMTS 400. For the 400, you'll need 460/480V to develop maximum 400A output. The 353dpi can operate on 240V single phase however at max output. Both have 60% duty cycles.

  • @rafaelleao79
    @rafaelleao79 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I don't understand inductance very well. What is the 101 explanation for it? Thanks

    • @thzzzt
      @thzzzt ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Inductance happens when a current flowing thru one conductor generates (or induces) a current in a nearby conductor. This happens without the conductors actually touching. An inductor can be implemented as a simple coil of wire. An AC transformer is basically a pair of closely-spaced coils (inductors). Inductance is relevant mostly only to AC circuits (not so much DC).

    😂 What does H4R mean on an E7018 electrode?
    An H4 designation, for example, indicates the weld deposit has 4 ml or less of diffusible hydrogen per 100 g of weld metal. Electrodes with an “R” designator - such as E7018 H4R - have undergone specific testing and have been deemed moisture-resistant by the manufacturer.

    Probably should talk about the Duty Cycle more. These Everlast welders don't like running on max amps. They get hot quick and you need to stop for a fairly long while, otherwise it trips early in the Duty Cycle. I use the same AMP welders by different makers and don't have that issue. So I only use the Everlast on low amp jobs.

    • @Diyguy518
      @Diyguy518 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@replyhere590 I ran both my 200e and my current Cyclone 212 on 120v without any issues, honestly they were both surprisingly powerful on it. I now have 240v in my shop, been running my 212 almost daily, and I haven’t had any problems with it at all. The only thing I’ve found to complain about is the powerset.. imo it’s way off, especially when you get to the settings for thicker metals. I only use powerset for the one time repairs I get, so it’s not a huge deal, but it would be nice if it could be updated or something.. I’ve heard of Everlast sending boards to customers for repairs, I’d be fine with swapping a board out to have the powerset working properly. Other than that, I’m glad I chose Everlast! I got all the features I wanted for a hell of a lot less than a red or blue machine!
