I have the 1/72 North American P-51D Mustang Starter set here on my workbench and I open it and review the Plastic Parts, decals and the extra bits like paints, cement and a humbrol Brush.
It also has a Quick start guide full of tips and tricks to build this kit.
The P-51D was arguably the definitive variant of the North American Mustang and included several significant improvements to the aircraft’s already successful design. These included a new bubble canopy for greater pilot visibility, the introduction of an effective new K-14 gunsight, even greater firepower, improvements to the ammunition feed system to reduce jamming and the availability of lightweight external fuel tanks, to further extend the fighter's range. The Mustang made a significant contribution to the eventual Allied victory in Europe, destroying more enemy aircraft in air-to-air combat than any other USAAF fighter in the European Theatre.

Nice one Airfix. Pilot and stand look great. Also like the idea of snap-fit canopy and assembly of the propeller at the end so as to avoid damage and ease of painting.

Yeah, I've got the Wildcats/Zero Dogfight Double and you get 9 paints and 2 brushes + spruegoo glue.

I’ve just ordered a p51 me262 set and I can’t wait!
Interesting to see how simplified and with a reduced part count this version is, compared to the standard Airfix P-51. Not the re-boxing I thought it was at all. Ironically this simplified kit has a better moulded radio mast in as much as that part of the sprue does not have the fault the original does. I've got enough P-51 kits to keep me busy though so unless I buy it for the decals, I probably won't be getting it.

Nice kit, I'm glad that they give also a stand, pity for the lack of the control panel & cloche in the cockpit. With other decals it could be personalized.

I’m a seasoned modeller but I’m new to aircraft, these starter sets are great to get into this part of modelling. I’m keen to see how well the clip on canopy works, it’s a faff to put them on in the three aircraft I’ve done so far.

@@MOS6510Modelsno I meant if the clip on canopy you have with this mustang works. I've done three aircraft so far and find gluing the canopies on a proper ballache tbh.

I think they are excellent
looks great, I just built the redtails P51 and the plastic was awful, this however looks really good and the ariel mast looks much better, my last one was flimsy and covered in flash. I do like these sets, they come with a stand and look good when completed. Even though I've just made a P51 I think I'll get one of these and actually enjoy building it.
its a fresh tooling so flash shouldnt even be in the mix on these kits :)
This is a well thought out kit, I did start their original P51 from a few years ago and lost the interest as it was fiddly to build

just got the new starter set of the 1/72 mustang from airfix, and also revell's mustang number 04148. and my god you can tell the differents. i think that revell kit must be an old tooling (very old).

@@MOS6510Models yes, i just have friend who recently got into the hobby. He's not quite ready for the more complicated kits (he just finished a revell B-25 snap) so i think this and the Bf109F-4 would be perfect for him

Nice! it's not something I'd do as 1/72 is too small for me but it is a nice addition to the starter sets and i'm sure it'll sell well.

У ,айрфикса, иногда бывает брак в литниках...купил ,мустанга,...а у него хвостовой киль на обеих половинках фюзеляжа с недоливом...Видимо индусы в Индии плохо следят за производством,а англичане плохо контролируют индусов...печально.Когда ,айрфикс, производили в Англии такого безобразия невидел!😢😮
